The Nationals road helmets haven't been changed in two years..neither have the undershirts...and from one of the videos it appears the Orioles helmets have not been updated either. That is disappointing since they have throwback blue jays helmets with the white panel in the game.

For those of you worried about the uniform inaccuracies. The reason for this is SCEA can ONLY use what is in the MLB style guide(unless given permission otherwise). If the style guide is incorrect then there's nothing they can do about it. Probably the reason why the Orioles batting helmets have been wrong is due to the fact that the MLB style guide doesn't have the helmet with the white panel in it.NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

Fair warning to all, there is a strong possibility the Cardinals Sunday cap won't be in the game this year as a result of the new creme alternates.Comment

While I understand that part and the reasoning for it on SCEA's part the issue with the style guide is confusing. Using the Orioles example the new jersey and hats were in last year, but I find it odd that they didn't think to include the matching helmet as well.
I was assuming that the reason it wasn't in last year was due to the fact that they didn't have a template for a front-paneled helmet.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
As someone just mentioned in the post above you. Teams don't update their style guide every year like they should. The Orioles were obviously one of those teams and because SCEA doesn't have the "Exclusive" rights they have to go with what's in the MLB style guide. If the Orioles didn't update their part of the guide that's the reason the helmets are off in the show cause the white panel helmet probably isn't in the style guide cause Baltimore never updated it along with many other teams.
I'm not dis-agreeing with you...I just find it strange.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
It's not stupid it's just reality. If teams don't update their guide regularly there is nothing SCEA can do about it. They don't have the "exclusive" rights so when it comes to the uniforms they have to go with what is in the style guide and if it's incorrect in the guide no one to blame. but ther organizations themselves for not updating it.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
While I get what you're saying, but when they initially did the guide they may have been in limbo on weather or not they were going to go with the white panel helmets and already submitted their info and never had that in, but ultimately ended up using that specific helmet in real life. They just haven't updated their guide obviously cause if they did then you can bet those helmets would be in the game. I understand you find that strange, but there is always a reason why something is left out of the guide by teams initially then they just never go back and update it originally. I understand where you're coming from and what you are trying to say I get it the Orioles have had these unis for a few years now, but reality is if something isn't in the guide SCEA CANNOT put it in (unless given special permission too do so).Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
I know all this because we've all been told by the DEVS why they have to follow the MLB style guide. I get what you are saying what's the point of having the guide if it's wrong I'm with you on that, but unfortunately SCEA doesn't have the Exclusive right's license like 2k had so they can't just put in the uniforms and team appearal that you see on TV or in real life. They have to follow the MLB style guide and if teams don't update it regularly then SCEA can't do anything about it. They are given what they are given and there's no way around it at this time. Most of the CD guys and the SCEA Devs have been saying this for years, people just don't always pay attention or they are hopefull that things will change on a year to year basis, but as you can see that's not always the case. Honestly i wouldn't worry about the Orioles helmets right now. most of the images and videos we've seen so far are from a demo build of the game (meaning it's really old footage) for all we know the guide could have been updated and those helmets are in we just don't know it yet.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
Yea i understand the legal issues as to why they cant. I'm just saying that I was assuming that maybe they didn't include it due to the fact that it was a different style helmet. The "other game" had it in but from the videos i saw it looked horrible. So i was hoping that they were going to wait to put in The Show until they could do it perfectly.
But if it is a style guide issue then that's a different issue.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - Uniforms & Accessories - Questions/Concerns/Inquiries
The reason 2k had the helmets in is because they had exclusive rights contract with MLB and everything associated with it.........therefore with the exclusive license they didn't have to follow the style guide. That's the part people don't understand SCEA doesn't have the exclusive license like 2k had and that's why they have to follow the style guide. This is something the Devs and many other have already explained in years passed. They explained how it works and why they have to use it.
I only brought up 2k as an example to show that if they can't perfect an item then I would rather them not include it at allComment
