Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
Im really not happy that generated pitch counts didnt make it in. People have brought this up for years. I'm not sure why this gets overlooked every year. Most of the stuff on that list is meaningless to me, but I guess to each his own.
I'll still buy the game though.
My most under-rated new addition I havent seen anyone mention is that there are now a bunch of PCI options.
The biggest question mark noones mentioned yet. What did guess pitch evolve into?!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
I cant see how real prospects would be in the game. It would be awesome if they did what MVP did, and 2K did later, basically creating the top 100 prospects or so and giving them fake names with similar initials.
I've always thought the shows fake minor leaguers were pretty aweful. Often the ratings of the AAA guys are better than some of the MLB starters. Makes no sense. Hopefully, with the progression system change, this will to. Otherwise, not a huge deal, I'll just wait for OSFM probably anyways.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
I find quite amusing the difference of fan reactions this year compared to the last year. I think so many people care about the franchise mode that the overall tone was a tiny bit toward the disappointment side last year (e.g., Vita took away time that would've been dedicated to improving the franchise mode...). Of course each one of us is expecting the Show to be the ultimate baseball gaming experience, so there's always things people are looking forward to...
I haven't been a fan of this game for not so long, certainly not as much as many of the veterans here in the forum, but I'm quite impressed by the amount of features and little things that appeared to made into the new game because of the user feedback seen in this forum and elsewhere.
Last year people complained about how the game screen was cluttered with new info (energy/confidence bar...), the big MLB 12 logo, etc. It is now less prominent or can be turned off.... PCI looked funky... now we have a choice... Bunting is too hard, obtrusive... now seems fixed.. The lack of swing follow throughs... new stuff has been added... the MLB player photos look funky when they get traded to new teams... now an approach is devised to fix the issue... etc., etc.
I don't really know the main driver of this feedback loop (perhaps the CD guys and/or Ramone & other devs who frequent the forum?)... but the dev team is definitely listening and/or their goal is aligned with what we gamers want out of this series.
I truly feel lucky this is happening with the sport I enjoy the most. If this were happening with Madden I wouldn't be able to appreciate all this.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
I hope for the exact opposite. More bars less numbers. Shouldnt be able to quantify a skill to an exact number. But it seems they implemented both this year. So we both get disappointed (or both get what we want..kinda?)Last edited by MLB Bob; 01-15-2013, 04:40 AM.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
Few people realize this it seems, but in RTTS, there's this teammate playing watch mode called "Result Play" which basically runs the game in generated counts. I'm fond of this since I can feel like my player is actually playing in the sequence of events that lead to his own at bats. Feels like playing a team sport.
I'm actually not sure the count generation there is rigorously based on player ratings and all... it feel fine, the game balance feels fine, but don't really know how good simulation baseball it plays really... if the game goes in that generated count direction, I do hope the simulation aspect of baseball is not compromised though (meaning low BB/9 pitchers tend to go to 3-X counts much more often thatn high BB/9 pitchers, for example). I want generated counts to be implemented carefully, not hastily.
In place of generated counts, however, my own preferred mode is "pitch forward/rewind" feature.... instead of forwarding the counts to where an event happens, the gamer can use some shortcut button to skip a pitch or not... if the pitch is skipped, it's simulated to the next count when the ball is not in play... and if something happens, it just happens. I like that approach better since depending on the game situation, you want to sometimes slow down the game to pitch-by-pitch pace, but the rest you just want to breeze through.
i don't think you have that much flexibility with generated counts.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Fact Sheet
Sorry if this has been answered already. I searched the thread and didn't see any mention of it.
Will the push/pull system be applied on every player (created players, RTTS, etc) via an attribute setting, or will only players with spray chart data have this?
It would be awesome to be able to make a slap hitting leadoff hitter or a first baseman who has the pull shift on him every at bat in RTTS or Franchise.Comment
