My personal opinion about the issue is that the confidence system might need a bit more tweaking..... but it's also how the pitchers are handled in late innings (both by CPU and user), which presumably has been improved. We'll see how things look.

From the stats tracking I usually do with the game, I'm pretty sure the dev team keeps tweaking A.I. every year. Not sure the specific aspect of the game has been worked on, but you really need to play quite a bit to see if it has been changed significantly or not.

I wish we could get a sensitivity slider for pitcher confidence. Its still too much of a dominant force in determining the outcome of games.

If I do see a train wreck about to happen for my squad...
-Mound visit.(crapshoot really...but I guess that holds true IRL as well)
-pitching change(this is key especially if you have RP/SP stamina at default or lower)
-walk a guy with the base open if he's a good hitter(way too many guys try and pitch to very good clutch hitters with men in scoring position. Know your enemy...if the guy on deck is weaker....go after him instead)

I don't really have any problems with rallies... I've had so many pitcher's duels it's not even funny. That's life as Tampa Bay, though.

Sure all those things help but im telling u the cpu has super duper abilities in the 7thn 8 th innings he fouls pitchs off I have had plenty of no hitters going into the 7 th have comfortable lead but by the time cpu goes all hall of fame on the starter or even a 99 rated reliever my lead has shrunk or im behind way to many times in the last 4 versions of this game 09,10,11,n 12 I hope they have adjusted something somewhere that fixes this issue.

That's the problem with "code" related problems. People will say that the AI comes back in certain situations or that there are magical rallies, but there is never proof. If you want to accuse, the burden of proof is on you.

Whoa whoa whoa you just jumped the gun so many times here. First of all excessive foul offs is a whole 'nother issue that I'm sure everyone will agree exists, it stems from overly high plate vision... that has absolutely nothing to do with this topic though. The marginally high foul-offs are just as prominent in the 1st inning as they are in the 8th.

As for your endless collapsing, maybe you are just not pitching well? If you are consistently dominating until the 7th inning, it's possible you're pitching in a really predictable way. The CPU batters pick up on how you pitch. If you pitch the same way all throughout the game, then by the time the 7th inning rolls around, and those batters are facing you for the 3rd time, they are going to punish you. See for yourself

Yes it does cause cpu will foul off pitchs till he gets one he knows he can get hit on happens way to much n I would show u proof if knew how to save game inbox n then upload it to computer then to here but I don't have to have proof when Ive seen it happen with my own eyes way to many times n I know it is not jus me it happens too either its ok though noway u can say anything wrong about this game on this site cause everyone wants to defend SCEA but I promise you if n when they do get any competition they will fix the issues .

Here's how you get visual proof:

1) Go to the box score at the end of the game.
2) Press the "PS" Button and take a screenshot.
3) Exit the game and then save the screenshot to a thumb drive.
4) Take that thumb drive to a computer and upload it to a site like Photobucket or Flickr
5) Take the code and then post it on here.

Look, no offense to your "eyes" but if you can't even figure out where to place proper punctuation I just can't believe that you are seeing this every single time.

They do happen in the first inning a lot but not to the extent that the cpu gets hit after hit cause he fouls off pitch after pitch or makes u walk him till he can score runs he should not be able to score .I understand it happens in real life but when I bring in relievers that are rated 99 atleast 90% percent of the time I should be able to get out of that inning without allowing a run n I know for fact its less then 55% I have run to many tests.

I didn't say it happened every single time jus happens way to much n its always the 7th or 8 th inning it happens in .Even when u sim through the cpu usually scores in those innings more times then not .

I don't think it's that cut and dry. There's more factors that go into the result than what your pitcher's ratings are.

All I know is I hate pitching or simming the 7th n 8 th innings but that's why I usually only play RTTS n if I want to franchise I pop in MVP05 I jus hope they adjusted something somewhere .
