Re: Dev Journal: Twitter in The Show
I got the impression that the bottom ticker in franchise mode is what replaced the newspaper, showing scores, trades, league leaders, etc.
If there is another surprise in addition to this, that will be great, but I'm keeping my expectations grounded in believing that the bottom ticker is what's replacing the newspaper (which is fine for me).
Edit: Straight from Knight:
Nothing in terms of a newspaper or news style pages. There are some new front end(menu) boxes that will give you league wide info...and the front end ticker will display trades/injuries/call ups now(league wide).
But there is nothing in regards to specific game by game news style articles like in the newspaper(which I really liked and wish would have stayed ....maybe in an html style format instead. Hopefully we see something that is a daily news feed similar to the paper make it back in.Last edited by bp4baseball; 01-30-2013, 09:36 PM."Life is like baseball, it's the number of times you arrive home safely that counts"Comment

Re: Dev Journal: Twitter in The Show
This seems pretty pointless. I've never popped in a video game and thought "I wish I could read some Twitter feeds right now".
I was hoping a team Twitter feed would be replacing the franchise newspapers, showing game related trades and news etc.Last edited by riotmonster; 01-30-2013, 10:07 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Features Twitter Feeds From Approved and Official Twitter Handles
I think it's just that a lot of people who follow players can now just simply do it on the player card now.
Social media is everywhere now and in everything(you see the facebook/twitter symbols on EVERYTHING)....and now it's in The Show to some extent.
It's not something I'm particularly interested in, but I'm sure some people will read it.

I think it's a really cool feature since it clearly has nothing to do with the franchise mode. It seems to be a part of the MLB Live feature which simply just adds to the immersion. Personally if I have a choice between a fake newspaper or website and fake twitter updates...I'll take the fake newspaper/website any day. Some just need to relax a bit. Technically there is no point of MLB live in a "fake" game either but it doesnt mean its not a cool feature.Comment

didn't realize this was going to take place on the actual player card... my interest level has gone up by 50% now. I guess I missed that part Lol thanks KnightComment

I actually love this for a number of reasons. One, it brings life and personality to computerized players who in reality we know nothing about. Maybe you're thinking about signing a player in your franchise but then you read his "Real" tweets and realize he's an idiot in real life and he has no business being on your team. Maybe youre about to cut a guy but then he tweets something sad that happened to him in real life and you feel bad and change your mind. I am actually extremely excited about this. Besides...who actually gets their news from twitter?!Comment

Another thing that is very apparent from this thread is a lot of people don't fully understand how twitter works.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Features Twitter Feeds From Approved and Official Twitter Handles
Are there any MLB players that actually tweet baseball related things?
I guess now if you want to know what Mike Trout had for breakfast or see his fan retweets, you can view his player card.Comment
