Brian ...thank you for giving your attention to MoM this year.
I'm LOVING it. It feels fresh. Yourself, Kirby and Joe too....the new bullpen/OSD's/defensive options....so much more fun!

    ....I didn't notice that.
I'll have to check that out.

Loving the attention the team has given Mom mode this year on only thing I've seen the cpu do is call a pitchout on their own, otherwise I haven't seen any unwanted cpu commands I like Knight and others would be in heaven with pitch and location and online Mom

I assume you are referring to me. I am in the screen right now.

        - For the "At Bat" setting you can either choose your defensive lineup to apply to a specific batter by selecting their name, or select all batters by selecting "Batting Lineup".

        - Then you can select the "Duration" of "Always", "One batter" or "One Inning". Oh and if you select a specific "At Bat" player, the game defaults the duration to "Always" and disables the other two option. So you are stuck with defensive alignment for the entire game whenever that player is at bat and the workaround is to reset the defense the next time the player is up. But as I said we appear to lose the auto recommend defensive feature.

As a follow up I just did the following test.

        1) "At Bat" set to "Batting Lineup"

        2) "Duration" was set to "One batter".

        3) First base man was set to "Bunt Defense" because it is easy to observe this defense.

I think I see where I may have been confused, but there may also be a bug which the only way to reset is to re-enter the defensive positioning screen again. You see after the first batter was put out at first in my test with a ground out, the first baseman was still in the "Bunt Defense" position when the 2nd batter came to the plate. As soon as I re-entered the defensive positioning screen, it had reset to the default positions and upon exiting the screen my first baseman was back to the default position.

However as a further test, I intentionally walked the 2nd batter and when the 3rd batter came to the plate the 1st baseman was still stuck in the default position. If I had never messed around with the defensive alignment position screen the game would have auto recommended the 1st baseman to cover the runner on the bag. So from this point forward in the game I would need to enter the position alignment screen every time a new batter got on base.

Not sure if this is a bug or if it was coded this way. But it would be cool if the game reverted to the auto recommend for ever batter and then let the game player override the defense if they wanted something different.

          Okay...yes...I see what you mean.
Once you make an adjustment...you're forced to do that the entire game.
Even resetting doesn't put it to auto...just back to NORMAL/STRAIGHT UP.

Yes...if they could give us an option to go back to auto positioning ...that would be great.

            Re: MoM View

One thing I had mentioned in some other threads and I opened up a bug ticket about is a graphical error in MoM.

On the main OSD that pops up before before the countdown, upcoming batters are listed as left handed hitters no matter which side of the plate they swing from.

I'm hoping that can get fixed, but thanks for giving this mode some attention this year. I love the additions.

I'm also on board with Knight for two player manage mode some day. I would love to manage a game against my father. He's not much of a button pusher, but still likes to manage a game.

I agree with above. I also like to add CPU team does not align their players into double play position even with less than 2 outs with man on first. You may see some posts in the slider section stating some see "lollypop" throws to 2nd base during CPU vs CPU. Some think it's field arm slider issue but I believe this is lollypop throw is happening because their double play partner is not in position hence they need to throw this lollypop in order for to wait for the player to get to position.

Also, I haven't seen CPU position their player into "IN" position to cut off the runner at home when it clearly should (IE tie game late...) but I only played 15 MOM games so....

Okay....I'd like to compile a list of anything like this(which since it's CPU...is a bit more pressing) that you guys see.
I haven't gotten that many games in yet(busy with rosters)....so I haven't seen a lot of things yet in detail.

I had a batter bunt for a base hit with nobody on on his own, and the CPU pitched out without my command...

these are not game breakers as players can do this on their own IRL, too.

Calling pitches would be great! Also great would be the ability to select players to "green light" on the bases.

That being said I'm loving MoM this year.

Hmm... I haven't had one of my guys bunted for base hit on his own yet.... but CPU did pitch out w/o my command few times... personally, this is not a deal breaker for me so it is what it is...

Yes, MoM got some love this year. I love the new dugout view, and added info on screen.

I would love to Customize the camera view.... maybe in PS4!

It appears that if you never change your defensive alignment, the game will recommend a defense for you (which is good). As an example if there is a base runner on 1st and you don't manually change the alignment of the infielders or outfielders, then the game will put the 1st baseman on the bag to help hold the runner. Likewise if the next batter also reaches base so you have men on 1st and 2nd, the 1st baseman reverts back to his normal alignment. However if you make any sort of defensive alignment change at any point in the game, it appears that we lose this auto recommend feature as the game uses the current alignment for the rest of the game. So we do lose a little time fidgeting around the defensive alignment screen for every batter after our first change. It would be cool if the game recommended an alignment for every at bat and then of course we could override it if we wanted.

Not exactly sure if this is exactly the same issue, but I noticed that when we change our Defensive Alignment for ONE BATTER, the defense DOES NOT reset AT ALL afterwards. It remains on whatever you set it.

Now, I know we can reset the defense (w/ SQUARE button) but like I state on the BR we shouldn't have to if it's for "one batter."
Especially when, during MoM, I tend to walk away from the game be it for seconds or a few moments.
If somehow the next play starts and my defense is out of alignment, it could seriously backfire.

The only other thing I can think of would be going into the Defense screen, selecting that particular batter instead of "entire lineup," but that seems very user-unfriendly to go in and cycle through the lineup to get to the current batter instead of just a simple option for "Current Batter."

Haven't played in 2 days and caught this late the other night so if I'm wrong about something please correct me!

I'd like the ability to pick the uniforms for the CPU team as well as mine.

And I'd still like to see it return as an Exhibition option rather than just Franchise/Season mode.

I'm not near the ps3 now to check, but I don't remember seeing a "swing away" choice on the batter's option screen. 'Take Pitch" has always been there but sometimes I would like to swing away on a 3-0 pitch.

While I would like a "swing away" option....it really is only needed for pitchers at bat.(who auto bunt)
Hitting the "play ball" (letting the timer count down) is the same as telling a batter to swing away.
There wasn't enough time at CD to get a swing away button in.

I couldn't get this to work either.
I'm pretty sure if you click over to the 'other' team to change uniforms, when you click back over, the CPU team resets to default.

I tried using 2 controllers for a (franchise) MoM game also and couldn't figure it out, is that possible?
