        Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread

How noticeable are the new opened up timing window and slower pitch speeds? Last year I played on HOF mode using analog controls and found the game to be just about the right balance of offense vs defense. I was averaging 4.8 runs a game with a .280 team average and a 4.30 ERA. I'm worried that this year they have made it too easy and the game is going to become a hitters paradise. From the videos I have seen so far it seems like the pitchers leave alot of pitches over the plate compared to last year and there are lots of hits. I found they had it just perfect last year and now they go and change it, ughh!! This game played almost perfect on HOF mode with default sliders, looks like I'll have either move up to Legend or make some major slider adjustments.

P.S. Can someone kindly sim a season a check the RISP numbers. There has been an issue since day 1 where team RISP averages have always been way too low with a league average around .220 when it should be closer to league batting avg. which is .260ish. This has something that has bothered me for years, yet has never been fixed, hopefully this is finally they year they have fixed it.

Can anyone answer if Miguel Cabrera actually did mocap this year?

I thought it was said in a thread before that he did, but was that in reference to years past? His stance this year looks the same as it did in 12.

Has anyone noticed any noticeable difference in the CPU chasing changeups and other offspeed below the zone?

Your point? I'm really getting fed up with all the people here who seem to be making it their duty to criticize those who point out the smallest of things. We all would love to have the little things correct about the game, why else do you think there is a "little things" thread? Also, who cares if someone brings up something that you don't find very important? Just because people bring up very small things about the game does not mean they automatically hate the game as a whole.

And excuse me, I hate to have this seem like this entire rant is directed at you, because it's really not. I've just noticed more and more of this type of negative activity picking up around the board as people release more information, screenshots, and gameplay and people give their first opinions.

I need to take a breather, it's just so hard to stay away from OS with with the new game on the horizon.

If anyone who has the game is answering questions in this thread:

The gameplay videos are showing a lot of pulled hits, is this realistic or is it a little overdone?

Is the outfielder positioning and depth better than prior years so that the CPU plays deeper?

                      Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread

Is John Gibbons(Blue Jays manager) in the game?

Or is it like MLB12 where even though they had (he who must not be named) as manager, but still rarely referred to him/never showed him making the pitching change call to the bullpen.

Do the CPU fielders dive as much as they did in MLB12(where it seemed like so many OF outs were cause of CPU guys diving, and their IF, even with terrible defensive ratings, were able to make these fast reaction dives to get the ball)

What are the comebacks like against the pitcher? Do balls frequently hit the pitcher like they did in MLB12? And if so.....1.do the pitcher ever get injured, 2.do the pitchers act like nothing happened and just run to the ball the second after it hits them.

And is that annoying fan sound removed from the game(the one where when the other team gets out or something, you hear that one random fan being like "heh heh....heh heh")

He has to coach a game first in order to be added. Maybe he'll be a patch update.

That wasn't the case with (you know who) when he was added in MLB11. Though he was added in the first roster update in March when MLB11 was released.

                          Though Gibbons was in MLB08

Not sure if this has been discussed/asked earlier, but I have a question with the updated rosters.

Say a guy who is a non-40 man roster invitee comes to Spring Training and impresses so much he is added to the 40 man roster.

Will that player be added with his picture and all to the roster in an update, and will they have a voice over for his name when playing a game? Or will Matt just repeat the number they player wears? Thanks for the help.

By all reports it's the case with Francona in CLE, which means the same for Gibbons.

I have noticed this also. I have BEGGED Russel Ramone to fix this and two add a feature like the new fast-forward option they added this year. A guy posted screen shots of each teams runs scored and runs allowed and I think they fixed the RISP. FINALLY!!
