Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Guys, how do I turn off my swing/pitch info for online games?. I am talking about the thing that pops on the side and tells you where your PCI was, swing timing, contact spot. I have it turned off in offline games but looked everywhere and couldn't find the option to turn it off for online games. I know this could be done because I had it turned off in online games last year.
Thanks.Comment

What is everyone's impressions of the new Beginner Mode that supposedly makes this game more accessible? I have always loved the idea of this game but from playing the demo from a few years ago for ~10 hours and still being terrible at hitting I have shrugged off the purchase. When I saw this year that there is a mode that adapts to how well you play, I got pretty excited. I was curious as to if anyone has used this yet and have any insights to how well it works.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
I haven't purchased the game yet but I was wondering if anyone had noticed an improvement in the trade logic for franchise mode. Last year it was pretty awful and often took away from the experience, especially playing with the O's and the Yankees trading away every veteran on their team before the deadline. Building a team realistically is one of the most enticing elements of a game like this and I really hope they continue to improve. Thanks!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
In fact, I hit select a few times to check out the other things down including the help icon. I just never scrolled all the way left. Old habits.
Hmmm now that I think of it, there times I couldn't tell what was highlighted, I just never put full focus on the level part.

It was stated when you pre-ordered the game that the code would be sent via email. Received my email at 8:30am this morning.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show Q & A Thread
Does anyone know how to prevent the real player photos from changing to the cyberface when you trade to a different team or do a fantasy draft? I'm assuming you can't, but hopefully they'll make an update to include this. Sucks doing a fantasy draft and having only cyberfaces on your squad. Thanks for the helpComment

I finally broke down last year and picked up 12, and it is amazing how much customization SCEA makes available to the user. I guarantee you can find a sweet spot for your skill set with the sliders and settings to have a realistic and fun game of baseball.
For instance, I love analogue controls (I don't do buttons in sports games anymore). But the step influence part of the swing was impossible for me last year, the pitch was on me too fast to be worrying about my step. So I just zero'd out the step slider, and it was just straight analogue hitting -- allowing me to take balls more easily and wait for good pitches to hit. If this setting wasn't available, I'm not sure I could enjoy the Show as much as I did.
Sounds like beginner mode is right up your alley, but even without it I think you'll be fine thanks to the level of customization for all parts of their gameplay...Comment
