Played another game tonight and just like all the others the stutter happened in the 1st inning and never again during the game. This is probably the 6-8 game in a row where it only happens in the first inning. Hell maybe my system is heating up?? Good luck SCEA figuring that one out

When it happens all the time, its a game killer. I love this game, have been buying it since the first one was released but when there is a stutter every three seconds its an absolute game killer, I just spent $59.99 on something I can't play, I guess that is laughable.

I sympathize with you and others who are dealing with multiple incidents of this stuttering per inning/game. Gotta admit every time it happens I'm all jacked up the next couple of pitches because I'm thinking its gonna happen again so i lose focus.

This is me too. It happens so frequently that it takes my mind off the game, and I start thinking about when it's going to happen again. I'm not exaggerating that - when 10% of a CPU pitcher's deliveries freeze in midair for half a second (yes, that has happened to me in this game), it will affect me for for the entire game.

The color of a jersey being a slightly darker shade of blue than it should is annoying. A frequent freeze during a pitch in a game that is all about timing is more than annoying, it truly inhibits your ability to play.

Some people are taking it too far (suggesting SCEA should issue refunds and such), but let's not pretend that this isn't a big issue.

People who have the stutter issue should post their info... PS3 type (old fat, or new slim) and what version of the game they have (digital w/ full install. or disc 10gig / 5gig install). As well as some of their basic game settings.

This might help narrow down a solution.

Someone mentioned turning off the tutorials in the settings, I did this after a game where I had my only three stutters and I haven't had one since. Could be a fluke, but it's worth a try for people.

That can't be a cause, because I always turn off tutorials and I have been experiencing stuttering.

I have never used tutorials, or guess pitch. I have the stuttering on over half the pitches that are thrown every single game. Going to try to uninstall, and reinstall the game tomorrow after work. I am currently using the 10gb, I am going to reinstall using 5gb to see if it makes a difference.

That was me....it worked for a while (under the same stadium and team conditions that I was getting massive amounts of stutter in), but now it's not really that much different again. I decided to just chalk it up to coincidence, like every other thing I've tried.

But hey, if it's working for you, keep 'em off.

Media server data turned off (forget if that's the complete name)
Tutorials turned off in main menu
Disconnected from PSN
5 GB install

Edit: also have guess pitch turned all of the way off

I never did, I agree it's an issue.

Happening once a game is too many times.

It just doesn't happen enough for me to call it a game killer or unsellable. And yes, calling it unsellable is laughable to me.

Put your copy up (not you Spence) on Ebay for $50 and see how quickly it sells.


The game to me is great in so many ways that I can live with this hiccup here and there.

I say that now, it hasn't happened to me at a crucial moment and I've pretty much just learned to take the pitch when it stutters (can't do it on changeups for some reason) that I've just learned to live with it.

Perfect? No. But still a pretty damn good game regardless.
