I've noticed a slight hiccup right when the ball is caught by fielders too. It probably has to do with loading or saving.

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
So I decided to take a chance and buy the game today, and I played only one 9 inning fast play game.
Night game, clear skies
Indians at Royals
I have an 80gb Slim
Connected to PSN
10gb Install
I did NOT rebuild my database
No instances of the pitch stuttering at all, which I've now probably completely jinxed.Let's Go Yankees!

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
For the first 4 days I had this game I felt like it was perfect. Then today I'm getting the stutter and now I can't hit because my timing is completely screwed up.
Last night, I actually replaced my PS3 HDD because I had a 60Gb system and downloaded the game. I wanted more room. Now I have the stutter. I wonder if I can put the old one back in and see if it is still there?MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies

I noticed it last night for the first time against Verlander. Needless to say, I was really struggling at the plate.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
One thing is sure: stutters do not happen in cpu vs cpu games. So this is some kind of user input lag, or something is being logged in the background, and I think that is related to the new XP system.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
I did notice that while the game was installing the 10gb portion, it said to set the TV to "Game Mode" to reduce input lag. My TV (which is a Sony as well) is always set to game mode when using the PS3 input, so I'm curious if this helped me?
I really am not familiar enough with the game mode setting to know if this could actually make a difference, but trying to offer some form of new suggestion.Let's Go Yankees!

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
It is much more prevalent this year than last. I've had the stutter and I've also have had full on freezing. Hope this is the first thing patched. It's a game breaker with 2 outs full count.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
OK. So I swapped my HDD back to the original one, and NO STUTTER!
Here is what I did:
(1) Using the "new" HDD, I played an exhibition game, Cleveland (me) @ Kansas City (CPU).
(2) Played 3 innings. Stutter was VERY prevalent.
(3) Swapped out the "new" HDD with my original HDD.
(4) Played an exhibition game, Cleveland (me) @ Kansas City (CPU).
(5) Played 3 innings. Stutter was GONE.
I made sure my settings/sliders were the same between HDDs. Always connected to PSN. Tried to make everything the same between the two.
The original HDD is a Seagate 60Gb, 5200rpm. My new HDD is a Seagate 500Gb, 7200rpm. I wonder if the higher speed HDD has anything to do with it?
Does anyone know if Sony used different HDD models/speeds/manufacturers? Not sure if it has anything to do with it, just a theory based upon my brief experiment.MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
