That may be a bit drastic. I believe that SCEA, based on their track record, will probally find a solution before opening day.

Also keep in mind it is very random in nature, so who knows, you may be not even experience it.

Yeah thanks , I do buy all the sports games that come out every year i used to be a 1st day purchaser but ive finally learned my lesson . The more these games come out every year with the SOME of same bugs , glitches , old or new , minor or major , the more im in a wait and see kind of mode because to me these newer games are just THE PATCH of the former games with a bit more polish and updated rosters .

Ill stick with 12 for a bit until i know the issues are resolved .

I downloaded the game off PSN. I see some stuttering now but not as much as the first day or so. I see it while hitting pitching and during batter walkups. I think SCEA will patch this if they can. I think they have pushed the PS3 to the limit. The game looks incredible and the new additions to gameplay are great. Hits errors wild throws passed balls no more automatic ground rule doubles. I didn't think they could improve upon 12 but they did. Now if they could only get the game to run smoothly all the time I would be ecstatic. If they can't find a way to patch it I can live with the game until the PS4 effort.

I felt the same way, and still do. No stutters.

I'm connected to PSN, have a 500GB hard drive (not stock) filled up with movies, tv shows, and my PS Plus games. I don't know what it could be causing these problems but it has to be a game issue. If its a user issue, then to me it is still a game issue because if the same problem can be felt by so many people in so many situations, then the game is at fault.

It hasn't been safe to buy on release day since MLB 10 The Show. MLB 08 and MLB 09 were perfect out of the box, then MLB 10 introduced the real time game flow and a **** ton of bugs came right along with it. MLB 10 pissed me off the same way MLB 13 seems to be pissing people off. But other than the meatball issue I don't really have any problems with MLB 13.

Been enjoying nearly a full month of RTTS this evening with absolutely no stuttering. I really don't know what else to say at this point as I seem to have gone to both extremes over the course of 2 days.

I and my brother have both experienced the stutter issue. Really screws with my timing but other than that I am having a blast!!

Just adding to this. I have experienced stuttering in my games as well. Not unbearably often, but enough to feel that it could be a problem over a longer run.

To be honest, I have always experienced *some* stutters, but this year's game stutters a little more prominently... the hesitation is a bit more extended compared to past years. . And it's almost always just on or after the pitch release... (worst time to time a pitch, haha). so at least in my experience so far, it seems the problem is isolated to occur in those occasions. But I wouldn't exclude other timings yet.... (sorry I haven't following this thread all that diligently... so people have reported otherwise).

I have a feeling this might also be connected to the intermittent sound stuttering as well.... perhaps something in the game is periodically polling (network to fetch data, twitter, etc.) and when the timing is just aligned with the pitch release, this somehow happens in that occasion?

Not sure if this is the case for anybody else, but the pitch stutter for me is more prevelant during RTTS mode. I have gotten through a couple of games in play now mode, without seeing it at all, but in RTTS it is basically happening at least one at bat per game, sometimes on multiple pitches in a row.

I also tried deleting any MLB 12 data, but that didn't do anything unfortunately.

The stuttering is driving me crazy! Just played back to back playoff games in Baltimore. The first the stuttering was crazy with Shields pitching. The 2nd with Wade Davis, was fine.

I just want to say if anyone is experiencing tremendous stuttering (over 40% of the pitches) like I was I highly recommend cleaning your PS3 of old and unwanted files.

Delete anything you can think of such as music, videos, images, old games, etc.
Delete all of the MLB 12 files then Delete MLB 13.
Then rebuild your PS3's database.
Re-install MLB 13 then try it out.

Before I did this, the game was close to being unplayable. Now it happens less than 10% of the game. At first, I was wondering why more people weren't complaining about it, but now I realize that most people were not experiencing it as heavily as I was. Last year there was stuttering too, but it barely happened. Now it is almost to that point with MLB 13 where I barely notice it.

If you haven't done so yet.......REBUILD YOUR PS3'S DATABASE!!!

It may not stop the stuttering completely, but I guarantee it helps some.

The thing that make me feel this isn't the case is that people have reported to see the stutter when they disabled their network connection. I have as well. But maybe its just the act of the game tying to send/receive data that causes it and not the actual data transfer itself.

I haven't been playing that much though so my sample size is small, maybe it has some affect. The rebuild database definitely did not do the trick for me and uninstalling all my content is not an option. I am not going to redownload 60-100 GB worth of games and install them again off PSN. If the issue is related to data on the HDD then something needs to be done to resolve the issue on the game end as other games do not have this problem. Like nomo said it happens in such an isolated case. (although in other instances as well, batter walkup, menus, etc). But it does not seem to be random.

all I can add is, I never had this pitch stuttering in '12 and now I get it randomly with '13. I have since gotten a new PS3 (older slim) and is clean (hardly anything installed) and I get the stutter, truly annoying. Stutter on a pitch is a gamebreaker, however I will wait for a patch because I'm sure the game is that good.

Do you guys really think, that WE gamers need to do something to fix this issue? We have bought the game for a gaming console and it is not working as it is supposed to. You did not pay 60 bucks to delete your stuff in order to play the game without problems.

Just wait a few weeks, I'm sure, that they will figure this out. I have faith in these DEVs, they care about us.

I agree, and everything is a completely random attempt to stop the stuttering. This feels like blowing into the old NES cartridges when they'd start to blink and freak out.
