So maybe its the amount of stuff you have on your HD? I don't have a lot but maybe I should get rid of the stuff I don't need?

Do you guys really think, that WE gamers need to do something to fix this issue? We have bought the game for a gaming console and it is not working as it is supposed to. You did not pay 60 bucks to delete your stuff in order to play the game without problems.

Just wait a few weeks, I'm sure, that they will figure this out. I have faith in these DEVs, they care about us.

Totally agree. It's just the waiting. I almost wish they would push back their release date to opening day to work out all the kinks. But its all about the bototm line.

I know the Devs will fix it, but theres nothing wrong with a little trouble shooting in the meantime. And what if its not a game issue but a hardware issue they cant fix? And most people here didnt pay $60 to wait 4 weeks for a fix.

If youre not having issues or dont want a quick fix, you dont need to try, but some people here would like some help.

Even if they did, there would still be bugs. Every game has bugs. This is the only game I know of where the Devs actively communicate with the gamers to get feedback and try to work out a fix.
Ive played many buggy games with no patch and just stuck with "is what it is".

Any pattern based upon digital vs disc copy? I had MLB 12 on disc and did NOT have stuttering but have 13 digital and get a lot of stuttering in cutscenes and graphical transitions (end of replay to showing next batter etc)...

Other possibility: How many of you have stock harddrive vs an "upgraded" drive? I remember there being more stuttering in Madden games with people who had replaced the drive...

            Just brainstorming

Had seen it a couple times and wasn't bothered by it ... then I played a game in Cleveland in the rain and it was 3 of every 10 pitches

You may be on to something. The game I played last night was completely stutter free.
But I only played the one game (offline, co-op).

The other night, I played 3 games, over 3 hours, and it wasn't until the last game where the stuttering popped-up.

Doesn't appear to be related to type of PS3 or if it's a hard or digital copy.
                Almost everyone's experiencing it.

SCEA confirmed they're working on it so I would expect a patch soon.

Mine happens in the 1st inning of every game whether my system has been on 2 mins or 2 hours. Gotta be the randomist bug ever

You're right and I think it will be almost impossible to determine what's going on.

Almost everyone who posts has a different experience. From some having it every inning to some not having it at all and everything in between.

I've never known an issue to have so many variables. Most bugs happen for everyone and its the same thing where as this just appears totally random.

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread

I have had no stuttering at all during game play.

There has been a slight stutter when the game is transitioning between loading screens to menus or in between cut scenes back to the actual game.....but I've never had any glitches, freezes, or stutters DURING game play.

This has got to be an issue with an individuals PS3 or TV settings. The age of the PS3, the amount of stuff you have saved on you HDD, the TV settings, or a combo of any/all of those factors.

I have a 3 year old fat PS3, but I don't play that many games, so I have almost no data saved on the PS3. In a normal year I pretty much only buy the WWE game and The Show....and I always delete the previous years data when I get the new version of the game.

It sucks that so many people are experiencing game play stutter, but SCEA has no way of fixing something that isn't happening to everybody because there is no control factor to determine the root of the problem if it's not happening to everybody, they risk really screwing up the game for EVERYONE if they start messing around with things that aren't confirmed to be an actual problem on their end.

Like I said, since the issue isn't happening to everyone, it has to be caused by something on the gamers end; either something to do with your PS3 (age or how much you have saved on your HDD) or the TV settings.

So in my first 4 full games I hadn't experienced any issues but I did finally see a stutter in my 5th game which I'm playing right now. I'm the Brewers at home against the Diamondbacks in a franchise draft franchise. Lance Lynn was the pitcher. I'm using TNK's 2013 sliders and a roster I got from the vault. I have a slim PS3 a few years old and I downloaded the 10gb patch(?) or whatever that was.

One interesting thing, right before the pitch that stuttered, I increased the pitch speed from 7 to 8. I have no idea if this is related but I found it interesting that it happened right after. I've only played one more inning since then but didn't see it in that inning. I'll keep you updated if I see any more.

Do you guys have stutters other than the pitching one?

I have stutters when a putout is made, when I'm defending, especially when throwing to first, and stutters during cutscenes especially during batter walk ups.

While I agree in the most part what you are saying, I have had the show since last Friday with absolutely no pitching stutters. Then last night I had 4 in one inning.
I didn't do anything different and I'm playing on a brand new 500gb superslim with nothing but the show installed.

                              No stutters today.

I do think it will be impossible to find a cure though as there seems to be limitless variables.

You are wrong! This is not on gamers end. This is a console for God's sake, it is the same for everyone! Or at least very close to the same. The devs have to optimize the performance for the PS3 and on top of that this is a ps3 exclusive.

I'm not gonna delete my stuff from my ps3 in order to play the Show. And one question: how is it possible that the Show 11 and 12 played smoothly on my PS3 and 13 is not. They have changed something that is causing this. They need to find it ASAP! I've played over 500 games with the previous two Shows, this is not acceptable.
