Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
My system is behind a thick wood door (thanks to Sony using Bluetooth so I can't really here my drive. I hear my fan a little when it's quiet. Luckily my system has never overheated due to being in a cabinet, but there are vent holes in the back.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
Why? It's not like they changed processor, GPU or HDD manufacture from Phat to slim. It's power supply and motherboard are really the only big things that changed in which the game was tested on slims and some are still using phats and don't experience this problem still.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
There are considerable hardware variations between PS3 models and the processors have changed, perhaps not in design or function, but they have changed and reductions in size and power consumption have been made between revisions. Plus you have the various hard drives included within each variant of the PS3.
This is the same, and SCEA have failed in doing this...Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
I just got the game yesterday and I am experiencing stuttering throughout my games (not just pitching) on a old fat 80GB and newer, slim 250GB. Basically, the game completely freezes for 3-5 seconds. Thankfully it doesn't happen during pitching, but it happens at least four times a game.
I do not have any other MLB saves and rebuilt the database. Problems still persists.
Has SCEA confirmed whether or not this is an actual issue? Should I take video of it happening?Comment

MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
It only happens 2/3 times a game for me but this morning it happend at the worst moment ever. I was playing challenge of the week, down 2 outs/2 strikes but was on a massive hitting streak untill the pitch stutter happend and threw me off completely. Strike 3. End of challenge"When it's all set and done, reality is the best innovation."Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
I finally got the game today and yep saw this three times in the very first inning I played and it completely ruined my at bats. I have an 80 gig ps3 that I bought in 2008.
This is a HUGE issue that could make me not continue playing, despite the outstanding quality of the rest of the product. I have to believe that SCEA are working hard on a fix but I'm really disappointed that it made it into the retail game.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 13 Stuttering Thread
Want to throw in my experience just for the sake of sample size:
Have tried re-building database and playing off-line. Neither has made a difference. The stuttering (at pitch release is what I'm talking about specifically here) seems to be much less frequent in RTTS than in a regular exhibition game. I would guess it's related to workload, as generating an MLB ballpark must take a lot more memory/coding/whatever the terminology than a minor league park. For me, exhibition games are virtually unplayable.
Not sure if it makes a difference, but I bought the game on the PS Store. No disc.
I remember having this problem with MLB 12, and it eventually got fixed. I'm sure they will figure it out. Just have to be patient. Which is really freaking hard halfway through March while staring at box scores of untelevised Spring Training games.Comment
