I miss the commentary, but not as much as I thought I would. But, as others have said, the little sparse sprinklings of commentary here-and-there just seem so weird and out of place.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Yes, I play all my at-bats in every game, I'll only sim games when I'm in MLB and I'm a few games out from the all-star break or it's the last couple weeks of the season and there is guarantee of who is in the playoffs and who won what award. I tend to grow impatient when my team is under performing. :PComment

I created a Ryan Braun type LF (Average, Power, Speed) and picked to play for my SF Giants to finally get them the home run hitter then need. Got to AAA a week before the all-star break in my first year after hitting .360 with 17 HR and two weeks after the all-star break i got traded to the Mariners. Im really pissed because i wanted to play for the Giants but they did call me up to the Big Leagues quickly and now i have a month left of 2013 and in 11 games i have 18 abs and im hitting .278 with only 1 HR. So my power numbers arent there but the .278 avg has me hopeful. When i get the chance im signing a long term deal with Giants.
Edit: Also i get pitch stutter just about once every at bat so thats hurt me big a couple of times
Update: Finished the 2013 season with 41 abs hit .341 with 1 HR but entering June of 2014 im hitting .349 with 10 HR and 32 RBI. Im a starter now hitting 4th but the Mariners are irrelevant so im hoping to get traded. Im 80 overall nowBOBTRAIN

I am very new to the show, never having played it until now. I love it so far, and I am playing RTTS. I keep seeing in the bottom right corner how much xp I've earned each game, but I can't find where to allocate the xp points? Is it the same as training points? Because the numbers don't seem to match.BOBTRAIN

Is it bad that I don't like being called up in my first season? Think about it. In real life, you'd be in A-rookie ball, maybe get to A+, then to single A within first year. Second year you'd be at A and if lucky to AA and maybe if your good AAA. Not many players get to the Show in their first or second season.BOBTRAIN

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I started a RTTS with a third basemen and I'm about a month into the season. I have a question for all you guys who play this mode as fielders.
I have only ever done pitchers in road to the show and so far with my third basemen I only do hitting and fielding so that each game doesn't take too long. I was just wondering how you go about playing the game, like what aspects do you skip and what do you play? How often do you sim? It seems impossible to finish a career, let alone a single season, when you play every day.
So how do you guys do it? I was thinking something like, play a series then sim a series. Anybody do something similar?Comment

Does anyone else think the 12,000 RTTS points that you get from the preorder are a little much? My overall was 77 and I was unstoppable in AA. After a month I was batting .557 with 12 homeruns and 42 RBI's. I recently started over, overall 53, and after a few series I'm batting .345 with 2 homeruns and 12 RBI's. Feels a little more realistic to me. Did anyone else start their RTTS over because of this?BOBTRAIN

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Alright played my first game with my SP here's the breakdown:
3.86ERA 7 IP 4H 6 SO 1-0 W/L
final score was 3 - 4
in the 7th inning the CF hit the wall and dropped the ball which made the play turn into a triple instead of a double. Ended up with a flyout on the next guy which in turn gave them their third run.. Made me sadface. xDComment

Thanks, I'll try that one out. Also, when it comes to off-speed pitches,(like a Changeup) increasing the velocity actually lowers the speed, correct?Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
just completed my first season as a SP in the pirates organization playing for Altoona curve in AA for 2 months then getting called up to AAA Indianapolis Indians. Apparently they are waiting for a roster spot to open up before I get called up to the show. I am rated 92 overall already the best pitcher in the system by rating but didnt even get a spring invitefastball, slider and circle change are all fully maxed out in velocity, control and movement spending all my point in stamina at the moment trying to max it out before i get to the majors! Cant wait

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
My RF was drafted by the Cardinals and with a AA team ERA of 8-9 in the first month we haven't won many games. I switched to zone plus analog hitting and while it took a few games to get used to it, I'm starting to get this whole batting thing down (on Veteran anyway). I rarely move the left thumbstick, just focusing on getting the swing timing down. I want to be a bit more patient at the plate, but I don't get many pitches out of the strike zone. Still, my batting average is up around .400 right now. Having a blast!Comment
