Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I am very new to the show, never having played it until now. I love it so far, and I am playing RTTS. I keep seeing in the bottom right corner how much xp I've earned each game, but I can't find where to allocate the xp points? Is it the same as training points? Because the numbers don't seem to match. Also, how does training points work? What is the stabilization they refer to?

On a seperate note, I too have the problem where I hit a good hit, run to 1st, start running to 2nd, but my player gets confused and doesn't quite know where to go! Am I pressing something I shouldn't be? Does my player run automatically or do I make him run?

I apologize for the silly questions, I've only had about 2 hours with the game up to now.

I've read 2 different things in other forums about this. One said you have to hold L1 before he gets to 1st base, and keep holding until a few steps past it, then he will run to 2nd. The other said to use the left joystick and "x", and he will run 2nd. I'm at work, so I can't try, but I'm anxious to figure this out. Let me know if either/both work

You do know some people just like to tank through RTTS without any difficulty? I see the idea behind the Leaderboard but I wouldn't take it seriously even if it were matched up based on difficulty as the sliders also play a roll in this game.

Switch hitter because I like even numbers and I like switching sides on the plate.
Was draft by the Texas Rangers

Currently playing in Triple A after about 3 weeks because of an injury but I reached my Adv. Goal so I got to stay there. :P

Hitting stupid high numbers though so difficulty upping seems to be in my future as well as slider adjustments. Not a fan of getting first pitch fast balls down the middle. Happening less in Triple A though so I assume the Majors I probably wont see many.

I'm playing on Rookie because I'm still getting used to the game. It's July in the first year, right after the all-star break and I still haven't been called up. I'm an 89 overall. Call me the heck up already Oakland!

Odd thing about mine was I don't think I should have been, as I looked at the DL list the person injured didn't play either of my positions, he played RF and I was still put in at 2b even though there already was a perfectly health one.

Could be cause for concern but I don't know if anyone else has had this happen. :P

Yep that is true, Jon Jay for the Cardinals got hurt for 2 months and I got called up from AAA into a bench slot. Then played my way into a part time starter for the rest of the season. Because I had done so well the next year they released the guy I was competing with for the 1st base position and playing time and now I am the every day MLB starter at 1st base for the Cardinals.

Nearing the end of my first season of AA. Hitting a cool .332 on HOF with 32 dingers and 109 RBI's as a SS in the Pirates organization.

You only wear eye black during day games.

As Catcher, do you still must call every pitch as in past versions? or can you only play defense without calling the pitches?

A few pages back somebody mentioned you call every pitch still i would assume you could turn off fielding for it

I've been playing RTTS for years and I am shocked, and I guess I should add pleasantly surprised at how they've made it a little easier to hit. I was never a great hitter in this game, in '12 I was batting around .200 on veteran. Fast forward to this year, starting on veteran, and through 47AB I have 23 hits for a balmy .489 avg. While it is fun to mash everything in sight, I think I'm gonna have to bump it up to all-star for a little more realism. Unless its super easy because I'm in AA and it'll get a little tougher as I move up through the ranks...???
