Yeah it's pretty dumb, I was a FA and three time league MVP and the only offer I got was from my current team, no other teams even offered , so I declined their offer, still no offers. Then I had to do spring training tryout to get a contract with a team of my choosing, doesn't make much sense to me

I have fell short so many times of a cycle. I think the one that hurt the most was when I missed out on just getting a single and popped out to the catcher.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I've really been trying to find a fair balance because I don't want to create a mythical beast on offense (which I've done in the past and grew tired of pretty quickly).

I'm playing on HOF with barely any slider adjustments and using zone hitting. In AA I was able to hit about .340 and through a few weeks in AAA I've got an average hovering around .300.

My player is rated a 78 ovr with contact in the 70's and I don't plan to improve it for quite a while because I like the struggle/balance it brings. My concern now is that I hope I haven't crossed a threshold where my guy is going to become a .300 hitter at all levels. I would hope that if I were to be in the MLB right now I would be sub-.300

For those of you who are trying to "keep it real" ... what are you feeling is acceptable for offensive production? I really don't want to race through the minors. As odd as it sounds, I'm hoping I struggle a little and pay my dues in Triple-A for a year or two.

Started a RTTS as a CF last night and got drafted by the Detroit Tigers organization. Now in AA playing for the Seawolves, hit lights out the first month. I have cooled off considerably but am batting .387, 8 HR, 31 RBI. I got a message from my manager and said that they could move me up but there in not a roster spot available. That was about a week or two ago and I am still playing some good AA ball. Doesn't bother me too much because I am so addicted to my RTTS.

Did anyone else experience that where they can't move up due to limited roster spot?

I'm thinking of making a player from a movie. So far I'm thinking:

1B Jack Elliot from Mr. Baseball(Tom Selleck)

Billy "Downtown" Anderson from Major League 3 (I think he was an outfielder)

That's it so far, not sure which one I'm leaning towards yet.

Finally got the call up to the bigs! I spent half a year in double a and half in triple a, then spent a full year in triple a and just got called up for the 2015 season. I'm a third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds. And currently I'm a 93 overall (third best in the organization, behind Chapman and Votto). I didn't use any other points other than what I earned through playing. My first game I went 2-4 with a 3 run homer!

I am surprised. I become free agent, my team offered me before i was officially free agent ( 3 Years - $1.5M) rejected that offer. Than i was hit in arbitration or something it said like final offer - 1 year - $7M. Rejected that too because i was expecting the big bucks, but nada... Went into spring training practice with Yankees and did really well and Bang... on March 30, 2020 - My First Big Bucks - 4 Yrs - $77 Million I got so excited than by mistake i rejected and lucky they re-offered me 1 yrs - $20 M, so accepted.

I swear I saw a Rumour Mill when I first started playing RTTS, but I can't seem to find it now. Is there any way to see if your team has any interest in trading you?

Finally got to start my rtts. Ss drafted by the jays. I started off scorching hitting .500 in the first two weeks. But have cooled lately and my avg now sits at .316. Still yet to hit a home run.

I really dislike the rigidity of the batting order in RTTS. I have the lowest batting average and RBI total on the team and zero HRs. I'm batting cleanup, and I'm always going to be batting cleanup.

Finally made it to the Major Leagues at the start of my 3rd season with the Pirates...
My guy was previously known as The Dude Lebowski, however, he is now known as... Pop Boy McCoy (just wanted to switch it up without starting over) and he's now a switch-hitting which is beneficial...
He struck out in his for ML at-bat but finished the game with 2 singles... in his 2nd ML game he tripled then followed it up with his first homer!

Playing in Major league parks against major leaguers is definitely refreshing, very fun!!! (I still want to get trade though, been requesting one for 2 years and nothing so far...)

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I find batting in majors too hard. I can always lower the difficulty, but here is the interesting part: With the exact same sliders and difficulty, I seem to hit OK in my franchise games and exhibitions. But in RTTS, I can't get a base hit or draw a walk to save my life (literally). I have 60+ contact for both righties and lefties, 70+ power for righties, 80 vision etc. I actually hit better with 50 contact 50 vision guys and have less strikeouts.

It is maybe because during full games I adapt myself to pitchers trends, strategy, confidence, confidence in certain pitches and energy. In RTTS, I just step in and bat, which makes it awful hard when it comes to guessing pitches, locations and adjusting yourself to the count and situation (batting with zone). I will go on to say that AI is pitching better in RTTS, or maybe I happen to believe so because of my terrible batting routine.

Anybody else experiencing this and having problems adjusting?
