I'm currently in the playoffs. Here is a recap of my previous playoff success.

1st Season - Lost in NLDS
2nd Season - Lost in NLDS
3rd Season - Lost in NLCS
4th (and current) Season - Up 3-2 in NLCS against the Mets. A's and Royals are tied 3-3 to decide who will represent the AL in the World Series.

I really hope we can win it all this year. Tulo has regressed to a 75 OVR, splitting time with Josh Rutledge at SS. CarGo has regressed to an 84 OVR. I want to win one before either one of those guys retire.

If it wasn't for a 95 OVR Nolan Arenado, a Silver Slugger winner at catcher with William Swanner, and a Cy Young winner with Tyler Chatwood the Rockies would be toast.
I had a solid season (.332, 2 HR, 89 RBI, 80 SB) but as you can see, I tried to shape my guy into speedy, hit for average type guy. So I can't win games on my own.

Hopefully we can close out the Mets because this could be my last chance at a championship and I want to send Tulo and CarGo out with a World Series ring.

That's crazy, I'm in the beginning of year 5 right now (April of 2017) and CarGo is still a 98 and Tulo is a 99. Furthermore, Arenado is still a 76 despite having A potential and getting plenty of playing time, he started last year in the majors and hit .301 with 24 homers but, still a 76 overall

We still have Rosario behind the plate, Rutledge at 2nd, Pacheco at 1st, with Cargo in left, me in center, and Colvin in right (last year it was Eric Young, who I displaced when I reached the majors, but we let him go in free agency).

We went 98-64 in the regular season and won the NL West.

Trey hit .311/.344/.612 for a .956 OPS, with 46 homers and 119 RBI. He also joined the 40/40 club as he had 43 steals. He had 200 hits, 112 runs scored, 40 doubles, 8 triples. These stats were good enough to land him his first MVP award. He also won a Silver Slugger and a Gold Glove award.

In the playoffs we swept the Nationals in the NLDS, then beat the Reds 4-1 in the NLCS. We finished off our incredible run with a sweep of the Yankees in the World Series!

Trey Griffey, at age 21, has an MVP and a World Series ring. He's already hit 112 major league homers, what will he do next? At age 21 his dad had hit 60 homers.

In the offseason it was my first arbitration year, I asked for $12.5m and won my case, so I'm back at Coors Field again for another season. Was kind of expecting them to trade me to avoid paying me. They're paying CarGo $16.5m and Tulo $16.7m this season, we've got an expensive Big 3, but it proved to be worth it last year. Wouldn't be surprised to see them move me at the trade deadline though if we are hovering around .500.

I hope I get some good offers when I reach free agency, I'll be real disappointed if I get that free agency glitch where no teams offer me and I have to try out during spring training.

EDIT: Here he is receiving his NL MVP trophy from 2016

My RttS player won a dozen MVPs and I never saw that animation where he accepts the award. What am I doing wrong lol

Late to the party as always. I have had the game since it came out and just opened it today. I usually run franchise in this game. I decided this year to go the other route and do a RTTS. I chose to create a Closer. He is a left handed knuckler (59mph). His second pitch is a knuckle curve (75mph) and his 3rd is a Circle change (74mph). I chose to be drafted. I was chosen by the Reds.

Made my season debut @ Tennessee. Earned my 1st save and struck out 2 and allowed no runs.

My 2nd game was a week later. Came into a nail biter against Mobile. Was bottom of the 16th with a 6-6 tie and bases juiced. I was able to get the 1st batter I faced to pop up to 1st. The next 2 batters I faced I was able to ring them up with K's. Coach brought me in for the 17th and I was able to get my 1st 2 batters to pop up again and then whiffed my final batter. Our team scored 4 runs in the top of the 18th to help me earn my 1st win.

I have been quietly following this thread. I for 1 don't mind the commentary being less this year personally. Looking forward to seeing how my 1st go around in RTTS goes. Good luck everyone.

                Figure I would go on a month to month basis for stats for you guys. I just finished the month of April. Here is where my Closer stands;

                W- 1 / L - 0 / SV - 6 / K's - 11 / K to W Ratio - 11 to 2

We ended the month with a record of 10-15 and sitting 6 games back. The Braves Double Affiliate is sitting in 1st with a cozy 4 game cushion.

League wise my guy ranks tied for 5th in saves with the leader sitting at 10.

I myself am pretty happy where I am at. I'm in no hurry to move up. I am only using training pts as I need them. I hoard the rest pretty much till I need them. Just finishing up my 2nd set of goals once the 1st series of May is completed.

Hi there. Hope this problem hasn't been brought up. This recently happened in my career mode, and I'm quite angry about it:

My pitcher has pitched in the bigs for seven years, and he has had a very successful career. After my second year in the majors, the Brewers gave me a five year, 3.5 million dollar deal, if I remember correctly. This led to about 500,000 a year. I could understand that at the time, but he has won two Cy Young awards since then. Naturally, when my contract was up, I expected the Brewers to give me a lucrative deal. But their offer was almost EXACTLY THE SAME as my first contract. They wanted to pay me like an unproven rookie. Because I want this to be as realistic as possible, I said no and filed for free agency. The Dodgers offered me a much better deal: 4 years, 64 million dollars. Naturally, I signed that. I'm not a fan of the Brewers, but I really wanted to remain one for my entire career. What gives here? Is this a glitch or something? Even after negotiating, they wouldn't offer me more than that 3.5 million.

My pitcher was third in MVP voting, but wasn't even top 3 in CY Young voting!

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

So I decided to create a separate save file with my guy, and sim into the future a litte bit to see what free agency would be like, or if the Rockies would trade me to avoid paying me a bunch in arbitration.

I simmed from the middle of my 4th year all the way to the end of my 6th year of club control. I always made sure to complete my attribute goals, and then simmed ahead 1 advancement period at a time. Well after winning 4 straight MVPs (year 3, 4, 5 and 6) I was still on the Rockies, and made over 18 million my final year of arbitration. When it came time to become a free agent, the Rockies offered me 4 years, 58 million or something like that. I declined to see what other offers I would get. And, just as I was afraid of, I got no offers.

I've seen this glitch mentioned on here a bunch, and I wanted to see if there was any way around it. I had an idea that it might be tied to the fact that my previous salary was so high. So what I did was try out for a team during spring training, the when it came time to sign and they offered me like 14 million a year, I instead countered with 1 year, 5 million. They agreed. I simmed through the whole season to get to free agency again. And this time, I actually did get offers. Not a bunch, but I got 2 offers from the Dodgers and the Braves, for big money.

So, I deleted that alternate save file as it was just an experiment, but the lesson I learned is that I'm going to stop asking for huge money in arbitration, keep my salary low, and then when it comes time for free agency hopefully I will actually get offers this time. Right now I'm still in the middle of year 4, so 2 and a half years left until free agency. I'm going to sign for pennies in the offseason lol.

I am a MLB THE SHOW newbie and I am trying to find out if it is possible to transfer my RTTS career from MLB THE SHOW 2012 to MLB THE SHOW 2013? If that has been covered somewhere in this forum previously, I apologize. I read a bunch of posts and skimmed others but there are just so many I thought it would be easier and quicker just to ask. Please help!! Thanks.

So I'm looking into starting a new RTTS as a SS or 2B, however, not sure what team to pick. Looking for a team that is slacking at that current position, nice stadium. I was going to enter the draft but that is pointless since I tried it yesterday and was drafted 1st to Rockies (Tulo) and then Houston (Correa).

What position do you guys enjoy better SS or 2B?

                                Thanks.
