Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Currently in my 3rd MLB season (2nd full). Last year, we went 107-55 and won the world series in 7 games over the angels. I hit .411 with 63 home runs, 179 rbi's, and 171 steals. This year I've been sick offensively with a .468 avg, 16 homers, 32 rbi's, and 36 steals. However, the team kinda sucks this year. We are 13-11, which isn't terrible, but we just got swept by the Cards, and last year we started 25-6. Gonna be a struggle just to make the playoffs this year.
I'm enjoying playing in SF, but would like to sign with an AL team once I hit FA, with my top 5 candidates being NYY, BOS, TOR, TEX, and LAA. Depends on who's good in 2020.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Decided to make a 1B and play for my favorite team, the Rays. Was killing it at AA, broke my forearm, and came back and continued to play very well. Called up to AAA, and was still playing very well. I was very excited at the proposition of playing for the Rays, but of course that can't happen. They ****ing trade me, Hak-Ju Lee, and Jake Odorizzi to Minnesota for Ryan Doumit. NO WAY that trade would ever happen, and I now have little to no interest in continuing.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Plan on making my real RTTS tomorrow going to make two a pitcher and a 2nd baseman/OF going to let one go to the draft and the other to my favorite team (Nationals) going to try and play one advancement period a day with each player, do all the trains I can possible. Not sure if I want to do a closer or a starter. If anyone has any suggestions I'd gladly want to recieve some I'm really thinking about naming my pitcher as an old-time pitcher just so it'd be kinda fun to see if I can repeat. I'm a dipper so I'm going to make my 2nd baseman look like he has a lip in LOL! This should be fun guys!Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I decided to share my RTTS story. I created as 6'4 216lbs LF and entered the draft and got picked by the Dodgers. I spent my entire first season in AA and lead the league in HRs, RBIs, Slug %, and was second in AVG. Never got called up to AAA. Went through off season and the Dodgers offered me a one year contract to be on the MLB bench. I really wanted to go to AAA to see how I did against their pitching but said what they heck, I'm in the majors. Started the season on the bench getting a few pinch hit opportunities here and there, mid-June they put me in the starting lineup as the starting LF over Carl Crawford. Now, I'm second on the team in HRs and RBIs behind Matt Kemp. This is so awesome.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Well things have changed greatly with my RTTS 2016 season with the giants...we started 13-11, 3rd in the division, and it had looked like the 107-55 WS winning team from the previous year was completely gone.
But then...
We have now gone on an incredible stretch. We got to 19-13, went on a 22 game winning streak, and now sit at 42-14, easily leading the division. It's been a great year for my player, as I've reached some milestones. I hit my 100th career homer, stole by 300th base, and am 48 hits away from 500. Looks like another deep playoff run is in out future.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Decided to posy my progress in RttS as a starting pitcher so far and a very (almost) memorable game
I'm a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. I am in my 4th season in the bigs as I type this. I play on All-Star and whenever I'm playing frequently and get in a groove where AS is too easy, I switch to Legend. I play every game I'm in other than spring training games. Here are my numbers so far,
2013: (AA) 16-2 254 Ks 2.18 ERA 186.0 IP
Team lost in championship series or whatever it was called in the minors.
2014: 17-7 162 Ks 2.02 ERA 209.1 IP
2nd in Cy Young voting. I was better than Gio Gonzales, the guy who won it in every category (except wins, we tied) and he got it because I had 2 more losses than him
Lost in NL Wild Card game against the Dodgers
2015: 17-8 216 Ks 2.46 ERA 219.2 IP
Cy Young winner!
Team lost in NLDS to the Giants
2016: 14-6 246 Ks 2.39 ERA 226.0 IP
2nd in Cy Young to teammate Kris Medlen. He deserved it.
Won 116 games and beat the Oakland Athletics in the World Series 4-1
2017: 3-1 51 Ks 1.61 ERA 50.1 IP
MLB Career: 51-20 671 Ks 2.25 ERA 705.1 IP
Now for the almost memorable game
It was in my 2017 season against the Phillies in Philadelphia. It was a 0-0 game in the top of the eighth and I was up to bat. At this point I have allowed no hits but there was an error and I allowed a walk. I wait on the 2-0 pitch and hit my first ever homerun! 1-0 Braves
Bottom of the eighth and I'm recording the homer at every angle. I come back from the replay and what do you know, I throw a first pitch changeup right down the middleLeadoff double. I'm pulled and of course the BP blows it and we lose in extras.
Well, sorry for the book I just wrote. Thought someone might be interested.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
So I started an RTTS Closing Pitcher, I got drafted to the Red Sox and so far in AA i have an 0-2 record 2 blown saves 21 saves a 3.65 era 11 hits 1 walk 26 ks.
I have the perfect 0-2 pitch which if im vs a right handed hitter i throw a slider just out of the zone outside and vs lefties i throw a slider down and out of the zone, and they swing because I place it perfectly, though my change up needs work.Comment

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I'm a 3rd year SS for the Giants in my RTTS. Giants are killing me. Lost to the Cards 1st year in the NLCS. 2nd year lost to the Indians in the World Series. Kinda ironic because I'm a SP for the Indians in my second RTTS. And I badly wish to be traded because the team is so bad. But I digress. The Giants have gone from the best pitching staff to the worst just to bolster their lineup. So for the second RTTS I'm stuck on a losing team because of poor personnel decisions. Still having loads of fun losing though.Comment

I just had arguably the best of my young career with my RF. I went 4-6 with 2 homers, including a walk off in the bottom of the 12th. 3 RBIs. 1 SB. 1 K. 1 2B. This brings my average up .437. I'm still in AA ATM.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
After absolutely dominating AA Mobile, the DBacks promoted me to AAA Reno where I'm now pitching out of the bullpen.
I expected some growing pains, especially as I've just added a circle-change so I can have a pitch that breaks away from left handers.
My stats look ugly so far, with a 8.80 ERA and a 2+ WHIP. But when you factor in the god-awful defense that plays behind me, suddenly things aren't so bad.
My Fielding-Independent ERA is 2.56 and my BABIP .450+, it's not like I'm just giving up liners all the time. Did I sleep with the shortstop's wife or something?
Apart from that... Yeah it's good.Comment

Started another RttS, this time as a Knuckle ball pitcher. I got drafted by the Yankees.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I just started a SP today for the Twins, and I haven't done a pitcher RTTS in a couple seasons. I forgot how absolutely brutal it is in the AA and even AAA levels to watch your defense screw up EVERYTHING. My team committed 7 errors the first game I pitched...I gave up 8 runs and only 2 were earned.Comment
