Finally made it to my FA year. I'm a beast, 99 overall. 4 straight CY Young winner, 3 time Triple Crown winner, 2 world series titles and over 130 wins.

Not one offer outside of my original team. Not one offer?

Weird. Last year I made it to my FA year and had offers from all the big spenders.

It's 2022. I'm without a doubt the top FA pitcher.

I've restarted 5 times with only the Reds popping up twice as suitors. I guess budgets are full, signing a one year deal.

It was 12. Haven't gotten that far in 13 yet. I'm guessing, as was speculated, might have something to do with the way budgets were tweaked this year.

oh a lot of stuff i heard you have to try out for a team even if you managed to win say 5 MVP's it sucks but i don't have a big issue with it

signed a 1 year deal. Very next season, no offers again. Quit, restarted and tried 3 more times and again no offers. Pretty bummed right now, probably spent 100 hours on this pitcher and now I can't even go through an entertaining FA period. I'll keep trying, already submitted to EA.

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

So as I'm playing RTTS for the first time (had The Show since 09, but never really bothered with it before) I'm more trying to get a feeling for the game rather than worry too much about stats or getting called up. I start out on veteran but after a month into the season I put it on all-star. I'm a RF for the Padres in AA, there's 25 games left into the year and my guy is hitting .444 39 HR and 137 RBI and he's never been bothered with being called up. It's not until I get to about July or so that I start to think it's weird I'd not been asked about a promotion when I start to do some searching. Lo and behold I come to find, for whatever reason, the AAA team has the bullpen stacked with 10 guys. The MLB, again for no particular reason, has 9 guys.

WTF? Why would a team carry that man bullpen guys? It's not just this one season. I literally just made 3 diferent guys and as soon as I place myself back on the Padres I check the pitching rotation and there are 10 guys in the AAA bullpen. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Am I suppose to get drafted, rather than place myself on my desired team, in order for the teams to fill out their lineups correctly? Am I suppose to just be stuck with this ordeal, but play out the game with the injury function on and just hope guys start dropping like flies until I can come up? Am I choosing the wrong position, or even the wrong team? None of this makes any sense, and I'm hoping some of you vets around here can help me out a bit.

Any info is much appreciated, Cheers

Re: MLB 13 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

I'm the happiest man on earth right now. Here's my story:

Created a RTTS guy about 2 months ago (when the game came out). It's named Austin Matthews. He is a 6'5'', 225 pounds 3B. I was drafted by the Nationals. Started at AA and was tearing the ball a lot. By midseason, I got called up to AAA. Only spent around 10 games there, and I was traded to the Pirates. That got me lil bit sad because I really wanted to stay there but there was no room for me with Zimmerman. Anyways, I played probably like 15 games at AAA with the Pirates, then got called up in September. In the last month I hit like .450 AVG, 13 HR and around 25-30 RBI's. Unfortunately I ended with 131 AB, meaning that I was not available to win the ROY the following season.

2014 came and the Pirates offered me a 1 year deal worth I think it was 75K and I would start the season as a starter in AAA. I'm cool with that. Then, one day BEFORE the beginning of ST, I got DFA'd from the team. I couldn't believe it. Luckily, I was picked up by the Brewers. Stayed at AAA like 3 months, then got called up to the Brewers. Hitting like a beast. Season ended and the Brewers offered me a 5 year deal worth 200K to be the MLB Starter (woho!). It was a great first season. Braun, Hart and me were driving all the runs, everything was perfect until suddenly they traded Lucroy, Aoki and 2 pitchers. Team started to go down a river. More trades happened. Hart got injured so it was only Braun & me.

All my excitement turned out to be frustration. I wanted to leave that stupid club (no offense to those fans of the Brewers) but I couldn't cause I only had barely a year of MLB service.. Asked about 200 times for trade request and nothing.. Spent 5 more years with them.. In the 4th year, Braun was already at 68 OVR. Barely he could hit anymore. My stats were like 45 homers with 80 RBI's. I wanted to leave.

Then today that day finally came. I was a free agent. I saw the light (well not really, the Marlins offered me a contract) and I decided to sit that offer and see what would happened in ST. Then it got me the notification that because I did not had a team, I could select which team I wanted to play for and compete in ST. Obviously ended up choosing the Yanks, made the team easily and they offered me a 4 year 75M deal. My guy is 25 years and every single offensive category is at 99. Going to have a lot of fun!!!!

Anyone else get to FA and receive no offers? I've reset and reset trying to see if anything will change but my RTTS, 99 overall SP gets no offers in FA.

Not sure about '13. In '12 I got to FA and received 4 offers.. one from the team I actually wanted to play for. I saved on another file to see if things would change if I tried FA again and I think I only received 2 offers.

I have a pitcher who is 28 years old (2nd season) and is a 99 overall. Stuck at AAA. Not even in 40 man roster. It's frustrating.

Here is what happened to me the first time I was FA.. I received 3 offers: from the Brewers, Dodgers and Marlins.. (Up to that point I saved it) I did NOT accept those offers so I continued to sim through the months to see if a better team offered me. Around mid january, all those 3 offers were withdrawn, and I continued to sim until the last day before the start of spring trainning, where a notification came and told me that "because I did not had any team, I could choose any team I like and see how I do" So I ended up choosing the Yanks, made the team and they offered me a big deal.

Ya. It just stinks because I was looking forward to a real FA, not one I had to fake. I'm a 99 pitcher who's worth 20 mil a year which means outside of Boston, the team I'm currently on only a handful of teams can sign me, ie NY, NY, Ana, LA, etc.

It stinks, but my pitcher and the game is to fun to let this annoyance ruin it. It's obviously a budget glitch but what am I going to do? Off to LA I go.

                                Cheers mate!
