I think if it were for Lombardozzi and a C-level MiLB prospect this would work fine. Espinosa, however, is quite a lot to ask for while giving up only Sizemore and meh 1B prospect. Young, switch-hitting 2Bmen with 20-HR power and 20-steal speed don't come very cheap.

In my opinion, for Espinosa AND Lombar, you'd probably want to offer Tom Milone (the jack-of-all-A's-trades) along with Jemile Weeks.

Another example is Derek Jeter. We might think oh, he's on decline blah blah not more than a C. Yeah, you try being Cashman and explaining why you gave up the face of the franchise who people still pay to see for some fringe no name to Yanksfan. IF someone on here wants true realism, I offer it up. IF they want to have fun their own way--I'm not keeping no 'chiser from doing anything.

I hope you understand what I mean. Danks isn't moving irl.

As for Williams, he'll trade anyone to make the MLB team better which is why they are so thin. He didn't want prospects, he wanted MLB talent. I imagine Hahn will be the same way. Jocketty is the same way and he came from the White Sox organization.
What you did was draw a parallel between Derek Jeter and John Danks...that's pretty clear...as players who are far above and beyond their actual on-field value. Granted, it's a poor analogy (on so very many levels) since Danks is not close to being in that conversation, but I'll give you the intent to merely say that Danks would cost more than he's technically worth, even if the difference is marginal (think mid C actual value vs. high C value to Sox). Might be true, but still if the Sox fall out of it this year, I fully expect them to listen to offers for Danks IRL.

Now I could be a d!ck and take a shot at your "writing skills being lacking" but I won't do that and I think it's best to just agree to disagree, bro.

I'll go out on a limb and assume you are the Sawx? If so, I'd do it, sure. You get younger relievers, and depending on how well you pitch with Breslow in game, it's most likely worth it. Mikolas is decent and I don't know much about Brach.

Pretty fair deal IMO. Brach or Mikolas straight up for Breslow would be alright but I guess it kind of depends on what stats Breslow is putting up?

Sox indeed, this is what I was thinking too... I also have Miller and Morales in the pen who I prefer over Breslow anyway... even though Breslow signed a 2 year deal I still feel he's very expendable (especially with a 5+ ERA lol)

So I'm rolling with the Astros in franchise mode. I want to add some speed I was thinking about trading for Dee Gordon of the Dodgers and he can play vs righties. Who should give up to get him? I'm using OSFM BTW.

Right and Breslow has enough name value as a lefty specialist to haul in 2 "nobody" relievers. Breslow going from AL East to NL West and Petco is a dream, so whatever his stats are, he gets that benefit of the doubt with a change in scenery. Also, with Joe Thatcher, it's not like the Padres have a dynamic LOOGY already. Finally, Brach and Breslow are both rated as low C's I believe in the spreadsheet, but Mikolas is not even on it...

Wow, right in my wheelhouse. I am also the Stros and also traded for Dee. I offered Brad Peacock and Brendan Ryan (a SS I got from Seattle) for Dee.

Since you likely don't have Ryan, I might offer up Jimmy Paredes instead.

So in my Brewers franchise, I decided not to bail on Rickie Weeks yet and instead want to acquire a SS who might be able to jumpstart the offense. Does anybody know of a team that can spare an infielder for a B prospect or two? I wanted to trade for Trevor Plouffe, but the Twins are being stubborn. You'd think with Sano behind him it'd be easy to make a deal.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Hey guys after weeks of testing I finally settled on the Rockies as the team I want to use in franchise mode. My first big move is to unload Tulo and CarGo. I wan't to get a fair return on both trades and also make them realistic. I am looking for prospects only (No players over 25 preferred except maybe to eat salary). I need pitching(preferably prospects who could have success in Coors (NO FLY BALL GUYS) and a franchise catcher, but I have needs virtually everywhere. I haven't even started spring training yet so ive narrowed the teams I think would pursue each player below:

Tulo: St Louis, Seattle, NY Mets, Boston, and maybe the Brewers (If I took on a lot of salary)

CarGo: Boston, Pittsburgh,NY Mets, Texas, Seattle, Tampa

I picked these teams based on need, prospect pool, and rumors I've heard

I feel like I have a decent grasp on trade value and using the spreadsheet but I have followed this thread greatly and I think that you guys obviously know what you're doing.

If you wouldn't mind giving me an idea of what team you recommend in a trade and the prospect package to go with it, it would be greatly appreciated. Really any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. The more replies the better and I will be eternally grateful.

Just like WaitTilNextYear posted, a mix of Brad Peacock and Jimmy Paredes should do the trick

I assume you don't play with force trades on since you mentioned the Twins being stubborn about trading Plouffe?

By acquiring Plouffe, were you gonna change him back to his old SS position to fill the void you mention?

There's always Dee Gordon to be had for the price you mention. The A's have a surplus of middle infielders and the first names that comes to mind are Jemile Weeks and Scott Sizemore. Neither one is a direct SS but wouldn't it be sweet to pull an Atlanta and feature a pair of brothers on the field? Imagine having the Weeks brothers as your DP combo

Boston is certainly an option like you wrote and the spreadsheet mentions A+A+B for Tulo and B+B+B+C for CarGo. For Tulo it's something like Bradley Jr, Bogaerts and De La Rosa. For CarGo you'd be looking at Buchholz, De La Rosa and someone else like Brock Holt. I do however feel like CarGo could fetch a better return than that...

On paper, the Cardinals are the best fit for Tulo if you ask me. Miller, Rosenthal and Wong might work
