David Price to the M's for Zunino, Walker, and Triunfel. Is that both fair and realistic?

My personal opinion, is why would the Mariners want to do that deal. I feel Zunino is untouchable when it comes to trading. M's plan on him being their catcher for the next 10 years and with Felix locked up for the next 7 years and Iwakuma as a solid #2, guy's like Mauer,Walker,Hultzen,Paxton can come up and be #3,#4,#5 guy's. If all 4 become studs, now you have a 5 man rotation better then any in the league and still have guy's like Iwakuma, Ramirez,Noesi who you can trade. Not to mention a 19yr Sanchez, and 18 yr LHP T. Pike and LHP Luiz Gohara who is only 16. in AAA or AA.

If the Mariners are going to deal Pitching like Walker and a very highly rated MIF, I would think they would go after a OF bat and again Zunino would be off limits. If anything they might try and recoup any kind of value for Montero now well they still could get something.

Again my own person opinion. You can play your Franchise anyway you want.

Started a Mariners franchise, and the first thing I would like to do is get a cheap leadoff hitter. I was thinking Juan Pierre (valued as a mid c on the spreadsheet). I was thinking Joe DeCarlo a 19 yr old C-POT 3B for pierre, thoughts? Also, I want to thank all the guys giving feedback in here. I've been following the thread for about four days straight now.

Why would the Marniers trade their Top-4 prospects for Price. I am not even talking 4 of their Top-25, but their actual Top-4. Would never happen, not for any player in the league.

Franklin > Miller

That's not their top 4

And Price is well worth it

Granted, I think I'd replace Hultzen with Paxton, but the trade as listed isn't HORRIBLE.

I am sorta in the same boat. A guy who I came across and I am thinking of making a deal for is Jason Bourgeois. He is currently with Tampa. He plays 2B and all 3 OF spots. In 2011 he played for the Astros and batted .294 with 31 SB's. I believe he could be had for a guy like DeCarlo. He is a righty as well so he works well platooning with Ackley at 2B or with Saunders or Ibanez in the OF.

I considered him as well. You think DeCarlo for Bourgeois is ok? I know the Marlins could use a young 3B prospect, so I thought DeCarlo would benefit them in that sense. That's why I was leaning towards picking Pierre up for the season. Looked good for both sides to me.

But the Mariners had almost sent Walker + Franklin + Pryor + Furbush for Justin Upton 3 months ago. That's #1 and #4 in Walker and Franklin according to MLB.com. Also, Pryor doesn't register as a 'spect anymore, but if he did, he easily be top 10. Toss in a MLB-ready lefty in Furbush, and that was the rumored deal.

So, both Stanton and Price are significantly more valuable than Upton. I'm not sure if SEA would deal Zunino under any circumstance (he's not eligible yet anyway...hard to imagine he was only drafted last June), but it's not a complete stretch to say they'd deal #1-#4, when they were already offering #1, #4, and two young, solid MLB relievers (Pryor has closer stuff according to some).

I dont think he gets how valuable Price is, but I feel Zunino would have to be apart of the deal

The Rays would love to get Zunino...and Price is probably worth including him. I just don't know if Seattle would part with Zunino.

I see them parting with Montero before Zunino. But, Price is different from Upton, so Jack might let him go to get a little Price behind the King. If I were them, I would use him to get Stanton.
