Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Anybody have any idea how attached the Angels are to Michael Clevinger? Also what would it take to get him?

Here is the first link that came up with a report on him.

He had Tommy John's in 2012 after being drafted in 2011. Was originally drafted to come out of the pen but many believe he could be a middle of the rotation man. Also in the Hybrid roster he's rated like a 35 overall if that means anything, currently 1-0 with a 15.00 ERA B potential lol..

The Angels offered to give 3B K.Cowart straight up for Phillies C C***iz so I was trying to throw this pitching prospect in there as well. Thoughts?

Also: Who would the KC Royals have to give up to pick up Dominic Brown? (.260/.348/.415 8HR a week before the ASB)

I'd actually value Cowart slightly higher than Ruiz meaning the Phillies would have to throw in another prospect to make it work. Thinking a high C, either a starter or reliever. If the Angels are contending and Iannetta/Conger struggling, I guess a Cowart for Ruiz straight up could work. Question is who'd catch for the Phillies? Kratz/Quintero? Calling up Valle or Joseph?

As for the Royals inquiring about Dom Brown...that's a tough call. The phillies have holes to fill everyone in their minor league system. I'd say they gamble on John Lamb coming back nicely from TJ surgery regaining velocity and a proven pitcher like Aaron Crow

Hmmm, the Cowart for Ruiz deal is pretty interesting. It fills a need for both teams. But speaking as a phillies phan, Ruiz means a lot to that team and Lee, Halladay, and Hamels all love having him catch them. And while he was out for the beginning of the real life season, the phillies were dead last in offense produced by catchers in the NL.. I do agree with Totte though, if you want to make this trade I think a C Pot reliever would make it pretty equal. It also depends on how well Michael Young, Kratz, and Valle/Joseph are playing. The Phillies do think pretty highly of Joseph.. As far as Brown, I think the Phillies would be willing to move him, but knowing Amaro it would be kinda pricey. He's far from a solid player at this point, and his numbers have been consistently mediocre at best, but I think a young arm and a potential infielder could get the job done.

Maybe Crow and Cuthbert, although that's kind of giving up a lot for Brown.

Cowart > Ruiz in value imo but I'm high on Cowart. In the realism aspect, there's the whole Ruiz PED thing, but he's also a hugely popular guy in Philly so they'd probably have to be blown away. I'd think Ruiz for Cowart and Downs or Maronde or someone would work.

Depends on how the races are shaping up but maybe around late May/early June? No 30-team control?

No I decided not to do that since last year it was just too much for me to handle haha

Would there be any way that I could trade Francisco Liriano to the Yanks for Manny Banuelos?

It's the end of June and Liriano has been pitching well, 5-4 with an 2.86 ERA, and other than C.C. the Yankees pitching has been struggling and Pineda is on the DL for a month and a half. But despite their pitching they are only a game out of the wildcard and 3.5 back in the devision.

I know the spreadsheet lists Liriano as 2 high C's, but with this situation could I substitute one mid B(Banuelos) for the 2 high C's?

Liriano's not worth Banuelos, no matter how good he's pitching. Liriano's so inconsistent as well.

Liriano was traded for Eduardo Escobar and Pedro Hernandez,in division mind you, who are a high C and mid C at the most. So Liriano for Banuelos would be ripping off the CPU

I'm KC, sitting at 50-49 and 1.5 games out of the Wild Card. Moose is on the DL for 1-2 months so I moved Gordon to 3B, and I want to add Matt Joyce (.260/.356/.421 13 HR, 46 RBI) to my team for a playoff push.

Rays are 51-51, 4th place, 2.0 games out of the Wild Card.

I figured They could use Meyers in RF, move Zorbist to LF, Jennings in Center, and have Loney or someone else come in and DH.

I'd get Joyce, I'd give them:

3B C. Cuthbert (can play 1B, 2B, LF, RF as well) mid-B potential player as well as
C A. Moore who is an upper-C potential player.

                          Thoughts?

Your spreadsheet says Low B, so any specific position? I figured I'd give them a utility player since they really seem to enjoy players who can play multiple positions, but if thats too much I can always offer less

Thanks for the quick replys guys. Anyone else they would want or Banuelos? I am excited about the young arms coming up soon, but I'm a little right-hand heavy and would like to pick up a good (B pot.) lefty prospect to pair with Cole and Taillon, so anyone else I could pick up would be cool too.
