Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ah there's nothing wrong with flipping dynasties. When people can't stop trading (5+, 10+ a year) and clog up the thread with every other post, it gets to be annoying, but multiple dynasties are fine."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
OK, so I was talking about it being best for a player to break in at 19-22. This is an argument more about age than anything. No one expects Olt to be a player of this caliber. But, someone, I think it was G3no actually took direct aim at my "age of debut" argument, saying it doesn't matter when players matriculate. And I am defending it as factual--at least in an empirical sense.
Edit: I wasn't making an argument that Olt will be a HOF even though he's 24 and in AAA. I was basically just saying Olt's "ceiling" is still very valuable even though he hasn't produced in the bigs at age 24.Last edited by G3no_11; 05-23-2013, 09:36 PM.Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
You know, I thought this would be a solid trade and I thought Gordon was about a 4 WAR player, but no, he's ridiculously underrated. 14.3 fWAR over his last 1605 ABs. Plus, the Royals are trying to compete. And the Giants don't have the farm to acquire that big a piece.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
So right now none of my right handed batters can actually hit for any power. David Wright is doing OK.. but i need another right handed power bat.So any suggestions on a Right Handed Power Bat, and middle infielder that is all defense that i can use at the end of the game?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Now that the debate (which was an interesting read) has calmed down I'll try this again.
I'm looking to add a right-handed power bat to come off the bench for my Cardinals. One thing I failed to mention in my previous post is that Boggs has been sucking badly for me. So much that I sent him to AAA. I'd be willing to deal him. He's got an ERA of 5.51 in the majors. Any suggestions? Oh, it'd also be nice if the player I trade for could play OF since Beltran went down with injury. I've called up Taveras but he's a lefty and also a starter. Wigginton doesn't cut it as a bench option who can hit for power.
Also might be looking to upgrade at shortstop. Kozma's been productive enough, but I'd like to have a plan just in case he slumps and I'm in the playoff hunt.Comment

Hey, you guys, before I go ahead with that JPA for Grimm + Soto trade, does anyone think Ryan Hanigan is a realistic target about 3 weeks into the season?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Strop's value is minimal and give a decent prospect for Venters."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

I'd be interested in dealing for Hardy. What do you think it would take to get him? Boggs+C? Any suggestions for that power hitting outfielder who could come off the bench?Comment
