Hmm...that's actually quite interesting. That would give my Twins a key prospect at every position, but behind the plate...and I wouldn't have to trade one of the few young SP they have...

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep thinking about it until July 1st.

      Which is a fit?

BTW, after dinner, I'm gonna PM you guys back, I swear . It's been a busy afternoon family wise.

Moore is a fit for the Jays (i.e. I want him lmao) and Happ is a fit for WAS, thus, I think it's a fair trade, although I dunno if I'll do it. I do like the idea of Cron... probably fairer (I really like it), and I'd turn Cron into a catcher.

Take your time, haha. I've been really friggin busy as well.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

2014 offseason in my CWS franchise and I am interested in acquiring one of the following:

          Gary Brown, CF - Giants
          C.J. Cron, 1B - Angels
Anthony Gose, CF - Blue Jays

All three teams could use a starter and I have two underrated pitchers I would enjoy trading in:

          Hector Santiago, SP/Long Relief
          (2013 stats: 2-2, 96 Ks, 4.26 ERA)

          Jose Quintana, SP
          (2013 stats: 14-10, 101 Ks, 4.03 ERA)

Could anyone see a trade involving one of these pitchers go towards one of those prospects? I would prefer Cron as he fills an immediate spot, with the other two upgrading a position I don't necessarily need, but would definitely welcome. Willing to trade other pieces if necessary.

In terms of value and needs, do you guys see any way for the Twins to acquire Javier Baez, without having to sacrifice Aguilar, Rosario, Sano, Arcia or Buxton ?

Maybe something that would include a package of Gibson/Meyer + Hicks and something else ? Could that be a good start ?
Nooooooooooooooooo. Baez will go nowhere and like it.

Gonna have to forgo realism 110% to get this through. Theo would call block you if you proposed this to him (and probably unfriend you on facebook and stop following you on twitter assuming you were already bros beforehand)

Cron for either one straight up is perfectly fine.

It's gonna take a lot more than Quintana for Gose.

Lmao, you know it hurt to type. But it IS a fair deal. I'm just assuming he's completely forgoing realism.

What would it take for me to aquire Dustin Ackley? He is hitting 256 with 6 HR and 44 RBI through 93 games, I was thinking a combination of 2 of these 3 players might work: 3B Matt Dominguez, C J.T. Realmuto, CF Chris Coghlan .231 6 HR and 29 RBI in 85 games.

None of those are good fits. With Seager and Zunino, they don't need depth at 3B and C. Coghlan has no value.

Adam Conley or Justin Ruggiano would be better fits.

Moore's value is as a PH and occasional spot start for rest or interleague DH. That's it. He'd have more value to you. He is a good target. I like that one.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Start of July in my D-Backs franchise and I've put my move for a backup catcher on hold whilst I try to acquire another starter to bolster my rotation.

At the minute, the current teams are what I'd consider "out of it":

                      Dodgers - 13.5 GB
                      Rockies - 13.0 GB
                      Cubs - 18.5 GB
                      Pirates - 14.0 GB
                      Cardinals - 11.0 GB
                      Marlins - 26.0 GB
                      Braves - 13.5 GB
                      Astros - 23.5 GB
                      Mariners - 17.5 GB
                      White Sox - 12.0 GB
                      Orioles - 10.5 GB

Basically, I'm looking to get a starting pitcher, preferably controlled beyond this year, and a right handed reliever. Eliminating the Dodgers & the Rockies due to the fact that we're in the same division, and the Marlins and the Cardinals for a lack of real trade-able assets, let's take a look at what these teams can offer:

                      Cubs :

                      SP Jeff Samardzija - 6-2, 3.10 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 7.88 K/9, 3.334 DIPS
                      SP Matt Garza - 1-6, 7.08 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, 8.65 K/9, 5.709 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Michael Bowden - 3-2, 3.47 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, 5.21 K/9, 4.607 DIPS
                      RP Carlos Marmol - 0-1, 2.25 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 11.25 K/9, 2.800 DIPS

                      Pirates:

                      SP James McDonald - 0-6, 3.71 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 7.57 K/9, 3.619 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Mark Melancon - 1-2, 3.96 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 6.75 K/9, 4.681 DIPS
                      RP Christopher Leroux - 1-2, 3.29 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 7.75 K/9, 3.287 DIPS
                      RP Jason Grilli - 0-0, 3.86 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, 8.14 K/9, 2.524 DIPS

                      Braves:

                      SP Brandon Beachy - 4-5, 3.80 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 9.03 K/9, 3.696 DIPS
                      SP Mike Minor - 4-8, 3.53 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 6.96 K/9, 3.639 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Jordan Walden - 1-1, 2.97 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, 10.90 K/9, 2.009 DIPS
                      RP Cristhian Martinez - 1-1, 2.45 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 2.45 K/9, 2.659 DIPS

                      Astros:

                      SP Bud Norris - 4-8, 3.62 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, 8.07 K/9, 3.691 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Hector Ambriz - 2-3, 3.33 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 6.31 K/9, 4.188 DIPS
                      RP Jose Veras - 0-0, 0.47 ERA, 0.84 WHIP, 7.11 K/9, 3.579 DIPS

                      Mariners:

                      SP Blake Beavan - 7-5, 2.76 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 3.23 K/9, 3.993 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Josh Kinney - 4-4, 4.20 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, 6.42 K/9, 4.721 DIPS
                      RP Tom Wilhelmsen - 0-2, 2.91 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 7.06 K/9, 3.785 DIPS

                      White Sox:

                      SP Chris Sale - 4-7, 4.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, 8.40 K/9, 3.763 DIPS
                      SP Jake Peavy - 4-5, 3.68 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 6.59 K/9, 4.183 DIPS
                      -
                      RP Jesse Crain - 2-4, 3.56 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 7.12 K/9, 4.418 DIPS

                      Orioles:

                      SP Wei Yin Chen - 7-2, 3.24 ERA, 1.25 WHIP, 5.79 K/9, 3.807 DIPS
                      SP Chris Tillman - 5-5, 3.64 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 5.46 K/9, 4.787 DIPS

                      RP Pedro Strop - 1-2, 2.10 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 9.47 K/9, 3.156 DIPS

If you're still reading, you're a trooper, so let's take a look at whats currently on my trading block:

                      RP Tony Sipp - 4-1, 3.90 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 7.81 K/9, 4.337 DIPS
                      RP Brad Ziegler - 2-6, 5.06 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 4.05 K/9, 4.725 DIPS

Obviously those warm bodies aren't gonna be high in demand, so, if necessary, I'd also be willing to part ways with:

                      SP Randall Delgado - 5-3, 4.57 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 7.57 K/9, 3.286 DIPS
                      SP Charles Brewer - 4-6, 5.96 ERA, 1.69 WHIP, 8.21 K/9, 3.388 DIPS (AAA)
                      SP Chase Anderson - 6-3, 3.15 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 9.00 K/9, 3.237 DIPS (AAA)
RF Alfredo Marte - .359/.423/.502, 6 HR, 37 RBI (AAA)

There are a few other guys I wouldn't mind giving up, obviously depending on the package.

                      Any help guys?

Obviously those warm bodies aren't gonna be high in demand, so, if necessary, I'd also be willing to part ways with:

RF Alfredo Marte - .359/.423/.502, 6 HR, 37 RBI (AAA)

There are a few other guys I wouldn't mind giving up, obviously depending on the package.

                        Any help guys?
I like the sound of Minor + Walden from the Braves or Norris + Ambriz/Veras from the Stros. Maybe Delgado + Marte for the Astros package. Brewer + Anderson + Marte to the Braves might get you Minor and Walden.

Atros one is good but I don't see the Braves one. Same pkg for McDonald &Leroux works as well. PIT would love a real RF and have SP to spare.

A Rios/McDonald trade could be interesting.

Ahahaha ! I get your point, and I haven't made the Twins my official choice yet. I just really like the idea of rebuilding a team around a Baez/Sano tandem. And eventough his value is higher on the spreadsheet, it feels like Baez out of Chicago would be easier to "explain" (with Castro) than Sano out of Minny. And Mauer seems to give them something they really need...

But like I've said, I'm still undecided. For "realism" sake, if I end up picking Minny, I'll make sure the Cubs are at least contending to make that deal happen. If not, I'll look somewhere else.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

All-Star break of 2014 of my M's Franchise. Both the A's and Cubs are battling to see who can finish with the worst record.

So I thought I would shake up the rebuild in Chicago and give them some instant help well giving the A's some guy's that they can control for the next 4-5 years and stay within their buget.

Cubs get Josh Reddick (.244 with 19 HR's) former Theo and Hoyer guy from their time in Boston along with LHP SP T. Milone, UTL IF J. Weeks, and 3B S. Moore..

Milone would become their instant #2 moving Woods and Jackson down a slot. Weeks would challenge Barney for the starting role. Moore would hold down 3B until Baez can take over in 2015. (Sad no Olt because he is already in Miami )

Both Reddick and Milone are F.A. at the end of the year, but the Cubs have plenty of cap space to resign both.

For the A's they get a quartet of former high draft picks.

OF B Jackson (hitting .360 in 25 AB's after hitting .299 with 8 HR's last year in 157 AB's) to take over RF for Reddick.

3B J. Vitters (hasn't done anything stat wise ) but maybe a move to the AL jump starts his career. He can backup Donaldson or and provide insurance incase he leaves at the end of the year (He is a F.A.)

1B/DH D. Vogelbaugh (Traded B. Moss to Colorado) so spends the rest of the year in AAA and maybe makes his debut in 2015. Tyler Colvin is currently play 1B but could move to the RF with Jackson moving to CF.

SP B. Loux (3-4 with a 5.57 ERA as the #5 for Chicago) would take the #5 spot in Oakland.

My thoughts are this open's up another 2 mil for Oakland (now up to 9 million in the budget) to resign J. Parker, Donaldson, Colvin and Choice all starters, as well as some key bullpen guys like Doolittle.

The Cubs get a power hitter to bat behind Rizzo and a #2 to replace Garza would just happens to be in Oakland now.

Maybe not realistic, but is it fair? Seems to me it helps both teams...
