Since you guys helped so much with the 1B question, I got another broad generic question for you guys again. Who is a catcher that I could get as a stopgap for 1-2 years until a prospect is ready? -

Dioner Navarro could be a nice option. He is entering his prime and is slightly above average defensively.Check out my Baseball Rumors Blog http://baseballrumors101.blogspot.com/Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Rodriguez is putting up decent stats as a bench player and the Rays are in contention so I don't know if they want to give him up for a prospect. They do have some bullpen issues though so I'm wondering if Josh Edgin would be a good fit. He's a lefty, 3.07 ERA in 29 innings for me but I signed Braden a week ago and put him in the minors, I could just call Braden up if I traded Edgin. Edgin's 71 ovr and a high C.
So RP Josh Edgin for Sean Rodriguez. Fair deal?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I just traded for G. Kottaras in my M's Franchise, because after hitting 16 HR's last year and leading the team in the Spring, Zunino forgot how to swing the bat. So far all Kottaras has done is hit over .300 with 6 HR's in about 20 games. I also love the fact he is a lefty..Comment

Thanks for the response, I think I'll go with Rodriguez, I do like Plouffe a lot but he's starting for the Twins who are in contention.

Okay. So I'm about a 2 weeks away from the all star game in my Braves franchise. I'm currently in first place and up by 6 games.
I'm going to be in the market for an everyday 3B and a solid RH arm for the bullpen.
So I need all you fans of other teams to let me know which players you succeed with in those positions.
I could also part ways with BJ Upton if need be. I hate his batting stance in the show. Lol. Gattis and McCann have been great all season so it's been a struggle getting them both in the lineup. So Gattis could play LF if BJ was gone. Schafer has also been great so just another reason why BJ isn't a need.
3B: Headley, Alex Rodriguez (?), Aramis RamirezComment

Gonna do a little franchise simulation project of mine with the A's. Was thinking of going out to acquire some names of the past from previous Oakland years. Could you help me point out a few? I was thinking Miguel Tejada, Huston Street, Trevor Cahill, Nick Swisher and Jason Giambi. Any names I'm forgetting?
Andre Ethier was with the A's at one point right? Matt Holliday for a brief period of time...CarGo as well...Craig Breslow quite recently...
I'll nail it value wise with them but I was hoping of getting some names. Don't wanna go back and google rosters as I want the names/players that guys remember, not "roster fillers" in lack of a better wordFormer modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Just from 2011
David Dejesus,Travis Buck, Jack Cust, Edwin Encarnacion, Raja Davis,
From 2012
Brandon McCarthy, Cliff Pennington, and G. Kottaras (now with the royals)
So not sure if they really fit the from the A's past theme, but where guy's they had for a short time.
Pretty sad to look at those players and think about the rotation/bullpen, and starting lineup it could produce, if you were a A's fan.Comment

To answer your question yes Either was drafted by the A's twice in fact, and was traded in 05 for Milton Bradley
Holliday was on the team as part of the block buster that sent CarGo to the Rockies.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
To the Jays for the package I listed earlier
To the Red Sox for Bogaerts + Barnes + Owens
To the Mets for Zack Wheeler + Brandon Nimmo + Domingo Tapia + Rafael Montero
To the Tigers for Nick Castallenos + Bruce Rondon +Avisail Garcia
I'm not sure, honestly. It's tough.
Rival teams routinely inquired about him this past off-season, only to be summarily dismissed by GM Ben Cherington. Bogaerts, a native of Aruba, is as close to untouchable as any player in the Boston organization.Comment
