Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Looking for advice on a trade offered to me by the AI.
I'm the Astros, year 2 of my franchise.
The Giants have offered
SP Tim Lincecum
For
1B John Singleton
Here's stats:
SP Tim Lincecum (A) 29
2013: 10-16 128SO 5.42 ERA
2014: 3-4 45SO 4.03 ERA 67 IP 32 BB
1B John Singleton (A) 22
AAA 2014: .269 AVG 6 HR 24 RBI 216 AB 33 BB 35 SO .368 OBP
Kind of thinking working out this deal. I have a lot of top prospects, what should I toss in to make this deal realistic? My pitching staff is terrible so I may need to overpay.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Hmm, well what other teams have a need for a first baseman and have an outfielder to trade (dont have the game with me right now.) Guti and Saunders are both hurt so im screwed right now.Last edited by brett the jet favre; 03-19-2013, 03:29 PM.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,

Would the Phillies consider trading Darin Ruf for a starting pitcher straight up (such as Luke Hochevar)?
My gut says no because the Phillies appear to be high on Ruf (plus the salary factor) but if they need arms to chew up innings then they might be willing to part with him since they have a surplus of outfielders... Perhaps I'm reading too much into this.
I just wanted to hear what others had to say on the subject.
And no, they wouldn't, and Hoch is terrible
Singleton is MUCH more valuable than Lincecum. Do you have Lincecum's DIPS number?"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

The Pirates could roll the dice on Smoak and they've got plenty of OF to spare. I'm thinking they're moving either Jose Tabata or Alex Presley to get rid of some of that OF depth. Tabata for Smoak?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

How about the Twins getting Headley? Miguel Sano is a highly touted 3B prospect for them so I say try and get him and if you want a young MI coming back as well, how about Brian Dozier? The Twins lack prospect depth so they're kinda hard to work something out with.
Sort of random here but how about the Reds? Thinking back at the Latos deal, Jocketty and the Padres have a previous relationship. Todd Frazier and Zack Cozart plus an unnamed C prospect for Headley? Billy Hamilton is off limits...Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Well realistically, I'd have roughly 10 million to play with and I'm looking for someone to man Right until Bubba's ready at which point we'll probably move LoCain over there... but with Cain's injury history, I'd look at something a little more long term...
Willingham's good but I don't think the Twins would trade him within the division.
I was looking at guys like Charlie Blackmon and Jordan Schafer and Adron Chambers for a platoon... for full time duty I'd be looking at Domonic Brown (long term financial commitment could be bad) and Avisail Garica (saw an interesting trade on twitter where an analyst suggested Aaron Crow for Garcia straight up... wish I could remember who it was... Probably no because it'd be within the division).
It wouldn't have to be an everyday regular because I'm going to be saddled with Frenchy's contract and I might as well platoon with him. But if I could get rid of him that would be excellent.Last edited by royals19; 03-19-2013, 05:03 PM.

I know that I'm not getting rid of Frenchy... that's for sure so of course, I'm going to be stuck with 3 outfielders on my roster... great.
