Because you face your division more times than any other team. The more obvious reason is because you're competing in the standings with them. You could also be aiding the enemy. Anyways, that wasn't an inter division trade.Red Sox: 2018 World Series Champions!!!

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
It's overrated. It really only applies if the two teams involved are both contending teams. For example, the Jays wouldn't trade Rasmus to the Yanks because he'd play the Jays a significant amount of times per year, potentially costing the Jays wins. However, I think the Twins would trade Mauer to the White Sox, because even though it'd cost the Twins wins, they're rebuilding, so it doesn't matter."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The teams in your division are the ones you compete with to make the post season, you wouldn't want to trade with one of them and end up giving them the piece they need to beat you and make the post season while knocking you out of contention.... That's how I see it anyways...RED SOX NATION!!!!Comment

What do you mean that wasn't an inter division trade? I wasn't talking about what anybody had done, I was just curious why people say you shouldn't.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
The Rox have a ton of pitchers but they are all #3, #4, #5 types and Blake Beavan is no different. You are just adding to quantity and they need quality at the front end of the rotation. Mike Jacobs would serve no purpose and has no value/business on a 40 man roster. Without Helton, they'll plug in Colvin at 1B and he hits a lot of dingers against RHP. They'll keep playing Rosario and Cuddyer against LHP. Yet, you are taking a top 10 CF from them but not helping them in anyway? Makes no sense.Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
They aren't included because they are prospects. That means that their value is as prospects. Look at their potential in the game, and then use the spreadsheet to see your target's value. For instance, Adam Jones is two mid-A's and a B. Taijuan Walker is a high A and Paxton is what, a low A? Well, that is equivalent to two mid-A's so find a B to add to it and you could get Adam Jones. Make sense?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Made a trade in my Astros rebuild thread, season 2. Figured I'd ask you guys if it was fair.
I noticed the White Sox were trading away a lot of key players, so I acted as if they were wiping the slate to start over, and made a trade to help my Astros long term.
I sent:
3 A prospects (1 that will start in the MLB for them)
2 B prospects
I received:
SP Chris Sale (4-4, 4.00 ERA, 46 SO)
I built up their farm system while giving me an ace for the future, I felt it was even on both sides. What do you guys think?Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
IMO which is alot different then most people, I think Sale isn't durable enough to be a future ace. But what you gave up would be a package a guy like Stanton or Felix would get, Sale defitnitley doesnt require this type of package. I'd say a Mid A, Low A and a B, and thats even tough for me to say simply on the fact that he struggled with his MPH last year as his innings count increased. This lead to CHI having to shut him down for little stints 2-3 times."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
