His changeup is key to him being a starter or reliever. It's too much of a wild card for Tulo, though.

    I think you're underestimating Tulo. He's a 5 win shortstop. Those don't come cheap.

I probably am. He is a gold glover and gives you a lot of offense out of a position that isn't expected to anymore. Will have to see how he performs this year. Is getting paid a ton of money and the Rockies are projected for a 100 loss season, have no pitching, and a farm ranked at the bottom of the league.

Which is why you'd have to give them good pitching prospects.

Tulo's salary is fairly reasonable for his production when healthy.

They have plenty of RHP in the system (Montero, Mateo, Fulmer, not including Top 25 overall prospect Noah Syndergaard or Jeurys Familia who's starting out in the big league pen this year). Plus, there's 2B/3B Wilmer Flores who doesn't really have a stable position but could be a 15-20 HR guy in the majors based on projections.

But based on the spreadsheet...if Niese & Ike Davis are High Bs...then no, not enough to deal that entire package for Gonzo.

Is Terdoslavich a 3B though? The Braves are thin prospect wise at 3B and the Rays have Longoria long term so if Terdo is a 3B, I'd find someone else to even out the deal with.
Terdoslavich is a 3rd baseman and the rays really don't need a 3rd baseman with Longo locked up. I was thinking more of a middle infield/ utility type prospect because the Rays covet those (Zobrist, Sean Rodriguez etc.) or possibly a pitcher for depth

Terdo was awful at 3rd last year. The Braves moved him there so he could man the position after Chipper left. He's really a first baseman who can play a little left field.

Heck I'm surprised I'm even having to give up a C, I'm only trading for Ryan Roberts lol. The Rays gave up nearly nothing to get him and from reading Rays message boards it sounds like the fans would be willing to give him away lol.

Thank you sir lol. Do you think that Juan Fransisco would be more than enough?

I was actually kinda thinking the Rays should send me a little something back along with Roberts...

What positions can Francisco play (at least somewhat well)?

Really just 3rd and DH I believe. He could probably play some first but to my knowledge he never has.

Edit: to add to this the Rays have been rumored to like Fransisco in the past.
The Braves' current depth chart features Martin Prado in left field and Juan Francisco at third base, but that could …

The Rays have enough people who can play third and who can play DH. Got a super sub?

Not particularly, I just really don't like/want Juan and imma big fan of Roberts, so I figured a swap would be pretty straightforward.

Juan can be Longos primary backup at 3rd, and would be a much better offensive option than S Rod in case Longo has to miss some time due to injury. Basically he takes Roberts spot (but has more potential) but can't play 2nd, but with Juan as backup 3rd they can allow S Rod to play more 2nd.

Is he before or after Sean Rodriguez and Ben Zobrist and Yunel Escobar? He's not a better offensive option than Rodriguez, who had a BABIP-fueled off year. They also definitely don't need more ways to get S-Rod at 2B, because they have like 20 guys who can play there. A 98 wRC+ in 386 ABs isn't worth giving up a valuable super sub like Roberts.

Chris Johnson for Roberts + a small something from Tampa wouldn't be too horrible, though. Or Francisco for, like, Sam Fuld (who's a freaking awesome defender).

Johnson is a.) the better part of a platoon b.) better historically and c.) has more than 400 PAs at the MLB level

                                He also doesn't have a 5% BB rate and 31.3% (!!) K rate.
