Anthopoulos HAS, in fact, attempted to trade Lawrie. Once for Michael Pineda, and once he came up in talks for one of Gio/Latos.

Lawrie + Smoral for Cespedes + their new Japanese IF?

Agreed also if Rendon had been healthy for that whole 2013 year I'd also have to pass on that trade. Plus idk if the Tribe would trade Chisenhall, A Cab and Bauer all for one player

Why do you guys always strive for "realistic" trades?

Last year if anyone in this forum wanted to trade for Trevor Bauer we would of all said "unrealistic" but look where he is now in Cleveland.

How many of us would consider the rays trading Wil Myers being realistic?

Not to mention if anyone had mentioned in this thread they wanted Reyes,Johnson and Buehrle from the marlins for garbage prospects they would of been laughed at.

I think we all need to get over this idea of "realistic" and trust the Shows trade logic, even if you see the CPU make an unfair trade in the game why not create a storyline such as Justin Upton falling out of favor with management?

Get over realism and just make some badass trades isn't that what video games are about?

Strasburg had been top 3 picher in the National League so far and leading the NL in strikeouts...but it sounds so tempting to have Harper and Trout in the same lineup...ugh

Personally, I use this thread to make it more challenging...I can turn pretty much any team around into a title contender in a few trades if I'm dealing only with the CPU. This thread makes it a lot harder, as it forces me to give good pieces back, that actually fit the CPU teams needs more often than not, rather than just clicking every name on my roster until I get an approval message.

In fact, I think there shouldn't have any messages, hinting you on the CPU's decision. It should be offer...wait...decision (with or without counter offer).

But when it comes to trading in a sports game, I always have to use houserules anyway. In NHL, I would only trade for player on the block, or wait for the CPU to send an offer (which I can tweak after, as long as the players they targetted are part of the final deal). This thread pretty much does that for me. No house rules, just try to make a deal with a human that can "evaluate" a trade from a different perspetive, rather than basing their opinion only on an overall.

That's what it would take but there is probably little chance the Royals would trade all of that for a player who is going to get expensive quick and be gone within a few years. The Royals don't really have the talent to go out and get a Mike Stanton type player and if they did, then it would gut the farm system and limit their window to contend.

Yea the lack of talent could be a problem, however they would get 4 years of giancarlo stanton so he wouldn't get expensive too soon.

Some guys come in here not knowing the ins and outs of every team and ask if this trade looks good and it involves 2-3 superstars they're shown the door quickly or told to go look at a spreadsheet, then come back.

And NOONE being traded is unrealistic.

Anyone can be traded for anyone.

Just look at the laugher the Jays pulled on Miami.

If i asked that trade in last years forum. I'd be told to stop being unrealistic.

You guys forget anyone is tradable regardless of how good they are.

Definately some good options, but I want to get young players who are not locks to be full time starters. The seattle one with Liddi/Saunders/other prospect sounds decent. Cabrera from Cleveland isnt ideal since I have Jose Reyes. The trade for Cespedes isnt ideal either because I am looking to open some roster spots for some younger guys. Right now there would be a couple roster spots and I have Sierra, Smith fighting and I would like to get a couple more major league ready (but not stars already) so again:

Lawrie for 3B/SS/2B + OF + prob a Pitching Prospect.

- If the prospects are good I would also add something like Bonifacio for maybe a prospect or 2 extra. I was looking at teams like Twins, Astros, Mariners, Marlins...but wouldnt be opposed to dealing them to good teams as well

I provided a list of teams and players I like. Players OTB are Lawrie, Arencieba, Bonifacio
