Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Deal him to Toronto for Darren Olliver...i know its not real but if Janssen struggling they may do it. Olliver is a nice lefty who I have used as a setup man over Santos in my Franchise and is beasting when coming in but of course his age is a factor but if that dont matter to you I know he will help your bullpen.
Tigers have Phil Coke if ya want a Lefty as wellComment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Me again with more questions......so in order to just get some ideas I turned off force trades so I could play around and see who the AI would accept in deals. Fell onto Tabata from Pitt somehow and now I am considering acquiring him to deepen my outfield. Apparently the AI doesn't think too much of him cause they will give him up easily so lets see what the experts say......
AI accepts either Hernan Perez (2b prospect) or Brayan Villarreal (RP) straight up for him, so lets give them both and see how much more y'all say I should pay? Both those players have C potential in game however neither of them are on spreadsheet so I am at a loss cause spreadsheet calls for low B and high C for Tabata.Comment

I appreciate the feedback. I put him on the trade block and almost immediately the Dodgers were interested. League apparently has been shelled and blown a ton of saves so I decided to send K-Rod there (Im sure he is still popular in the area from his days as an Angel) I got Elbert and Lilly in return. I realize this might seem a little steep but Elbert was sitting in triple A and even though the Dodgers seem to have unlimited money I figured taking Lilly would be the equivalent to eating cash since they had him Capuano and Harang sitting in long relief. Thoughts? Anyone?Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ok this deal is a monster its a 3 team trade w/ Jays-Mariners-Rockies. I lost in the world series and made it known Lawrie, Arencieba, Bonifacio and more were available. Here is a trade that will work (got to do it 2 separate deals but it works). I wanna see how bad/good it is before I make it, remember I am going for fairness not realism, so you need to know a few points which ill list below the trade. Here we go:
TOR (me) trades: Lawrie, Victor Martinez, Arencieba, Bonifacio, Alex Burnett, Thole, 2 Prospects both from AA not very highly rated but not low either.
TOR (me) gets: Ackley, Wilin Rosario, Carlos Peguero, Chris Nelson, Rex Brothers, Jonathan Herrera, Casper Wells
SEA trades: Ackley, Peguero, Liddi, Wells
SEA gets: Lawrie, Burnett, Thole, 1 prospect from above
COL trades: Rosario, Brothers, Nelson, Herrera
COL gets: VMart, Arencieba, Bonifacio, Liddi, 1 prospect from above
OK here are some stats from last season before we get some hate/love:
- I play 52 game seasons
Lawrie - .292, 1HR, 14RBI, 21R, 43H, 3-3B, 4SB
Ackley - .233, 2HR, 14RBI, 14R, 28H
Peguero - Had a massive year in AAA and his power vs. RHP is 90 lol
Wells - Didnt play much w/ SEA just a batter for Lefties for me
Burnett - was a decent part of my bullpen 1.87 ERA, 14K/9innings
Liddi - Fill in prospect , only 18 AB last year w/ SEA
- So that covers the SEA/TOR part. Lawrie is solid and has nice potential but his numbers weren't far off Ackleys besides hits/average. I also get a beast in Peguero who mashed 18 HR in AAA in 46 games and got a massive power boost which I can use. Thole/Wells cancell out, SEA didnt have a backup C, Wells was in AAA to start the season I needed a bat vs. LHP. Burnett/Liddi were fillers (SEA needed bullpen help, Liddi went on to COL)
- Now for the COL/TOR parts (minus Liddi who came from SEA):
VMart - .394 average (only half a season), 9RBI, 28H, 10R*
Bonifacio - .318, 35/110AB, 1HR, 11RBI, 23R, 17SB
Arencieba - .265, 47H, 6HR, 30RBI, 18R
Rosario - .264, 42H, 13HR, 32RBI, 24R
Nelson - .230, 32H, 2HR, 8RBI, 16R
Brothers - 16G, 6.32ERA, 8.04K/9innings
Herrera - only managed 15 appearances for COL
- So looking there are a couple thing to notice. Rosario is obviously the best player but Arencieba had a very nice year (3rd in RBI for my team) and so did Bonifacio playing full time 2B (besides errors). VMart I picked up off the Tigers for prospects to get myself a better DH for a playoff run as he was coming off an injury. He was amazing for me from trade deadline on, especially after I lost EE for the year. Colorado gets a more than reliable C in JP, a 1B (Pecheco not ready, Helton gone) in VMart along with a starting 2B who can play multiple positions (Rutledge out for year/ACL). The Rockies went to NL finals vs. Nationals and they improved a great deal in this deal to make a run this year.
- So after looking may look like I got raped, but I feel I have a very nice 2B in Ackley along with a very nice DH player in Peguero with his 90 power vs. RHP, and a great C who makes middle of my lineup scary with Jose, EE, Rosario. I also get a LH reliever since I lost Oliver to retirement. I also get a 3B/2B bench guy that I could use, an OK bat vs. LHP, and a SS for my AAA club. Mariners get Lawrie who is the best player at 90 overall young cheap 3B (he improved alot over offseason) for a fair price, and the Rockies get much better this year without cleaning out many young good prospects while I clear out some guys to make room for some of my younger guys and get a nice power hitter for the middle of my linuep.
- AND now I will show you all 3 teams lineups:
TOR
SS Reyes
LF Cabrera
3B Bautista
1B Encarnacion
C Rosario
DH Peguero
CF Rasmus
RF Sierra (has been nice for me)
2B Ackley
Bench: Nelson, Luke Scott (FA), Izturis, C. Wells,
SEA
3B Lawrie
RF Morales
DH Morse
C Montero
2B Seager
1B Smoak
LF Saunders
SS Alex Gonzalez (FA)
CF Gutierrez
Bench: Thole, Thames, 2 draft picks from last year
COL:
3B Bonifacio
1B Martinez
CF Gonzalez
SS Tulowitzki
LF Colvin
RF Cuddyer
C Arencieba
2B Rutledge
Bench: Hernandez, Young JR, Blackmon, Liddi
- Dam, too much typing...now for the approval/denial please before I pull the trigger. I did it to see if it worked, it worked then quit w/o saving now got it ready to go pending some imput or if maybe I should add/remove something. Thanks in advanced!Comment

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Skimmed through the spreadsheet. That is an awesome idea.
Have some minor issues with the Rockies.
They have to get at least a low A in return for Cargo. He is a perennial MVP caliber player and is fairly durable as well.
Right now on the sheet it says High B, Mid B, Low B, High C. IMO it should be Low A, High B, Mid B for Cargo.
Tulo should be Mid A, High B, Mid B
Dexter Fowler should be Mid B, Low B
Rosario: Low B, High C.. Catcher of the future.
Matt Belisle: at least a High C... he's highly valued in Colorado.
Betancourt: High C, Mid C.. again, highly valued.
Chris Nelson: High C. Not sure why he would be just a Low C when he is the Rockies starting 3B and Pacheco is a High C, Mid C...
Rex Brothers: High C. Could be the future closer for Colorado.
Anyways, just my input.Last edited by G3no_11; 04-12-2013, 03:05 AM.Denver Broncos

So, for this massive trade, imo:

Lind has actually had success before.
They have to get at least a low A in return for Cargo. He is a perennial MVP caliber player and is fairly durable as well.
Right now on the sheet it says High B, Mid B, Low B, High C. IMO it should be Low A, High B, Mid B for Cargo.
I just don't trust his home/road splits. Cargo's just a guy I'm not high on if he's getting traded.
Tulo should be Mid A, High B, Mid B
I'll go Mid A, low A, low B. How's he doing? I know he had surgery.
Dexter Fowler should be Mid B, Low B
Agreed.
Rosario: Low B, High C.. Catcher of the future.
His defense is worse than Arencibia's. Worst in the league. I'll keep it at Low B.
Matt Belisle: at least a High C... he's highly valued in Colorado.
Those are for top, top relievers.
Betancourt: High C, Mid C.. again, highly valued.
I'll add in a low C.
Chris Nelson: High C. Not sure why he would be just a Low C when he is the Rockies starting 3B and Pacheco is a High C, Mid C...
'Cause he's replacement level lol. Meh, I'll go mid C.
Rex Brothers: High C. Could be the future closer for Colorado.
Could be. High C's are for 1+ win relievers."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Hm... my bad
That part was untrue. Still, even though some were freak injuries (anyone can get hit in the wrist and break it) there are still injury concerns with him that lower his potential value just a little.badComment
