Baez isn't being dealt or is any discussion for me. Just some info.

You're right on Soler and Almora as a base for a deal including Adam Jones.

For Chisenhall...it's a bit harder to find a starting point considering that the Cubs minor league system is rather weak. My guess is that Vitters would have to go to Cleveland so that he can fill some organizational depth at 3B with Chisenhall leaving. Trey McNutt would be another piece that I think could be included. Or you could eat his whole salary and trade Soriano to Cleveland for Chisenhall?

I honestly dont think that the Cubs would give up Soler, Baez or Almora, unless it puts them into contention for the pennant. Theo likes to build up his farm system and go from there.

That being said, I would throw B-Jax in a trade before Soler or Almora, then again, I am not high on him at all.

Im thinking you could throw B-Jax, Maples and either Alberto Cabrera or Trey McNutt.

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread

Im looking to upgrade my 3B spot for my Cubs. Its only the 2nd week of the year, but I can tell that Stewart/Valbuena isnt going to cut it.

I plan on swapping either Castro or Baez to 3B whenever Baez is ready for the MLB, as I cant stand Vitters.

Im debating between Pedro Alvarez, who could provide some much needed pop in the line-up or go with a lesser player, someone like Chris Nelson from Col to fill in until Baez is ready.

I thought about Arenado, but there is no way that I could acquire someone with his potential without giving up a hefty chunk back.

I was thinking about Dan Vogelbach (1B), since Rizzo has that locked down for the next decade, and Junior Lake (3B), who could replace Alvarez in a year or so.

Not sure what to give up for Nelson, pretty sure it wouldnt be much

Ryan Roberts and Alex Liddi could be options for you as well

Guys, I have a questions regarding the OS Trade Value Spreadsheet which is linked in the first post of this thread.
What does "low", "mid", "high" mean translated into overall ratings? For example what rating would a "high b", "low a" etc. have?

                    High: >80?
                    Mid: 70 to 79?
                    Low: <70?

They have 0 to do with overall rating, they have to do with the potentials. Use the search function to search this thread for the in-depth description (I think there's one in here somewhere.) I would totally do it for you but I don't have the time to do it right now.

There are 9 tiers for each potential rating. When sorting the potentials the higher ones up are considered "high" while the lower ones are "low"

aha, so it doesn't have anything to do with the overall? I had no clue

So I started a franchise with the Cardinals and traded Holliday and Allen Craig and SP Miller A potential for Trout and they accepted the trade. I have also traded Beltran and Furcal for Profar since he is just sitting behind Andrus. What do you guys think of this trades? I think its pretty even, no?
