With the stability of Tulowitzki at short, and with the players I just drafted in my Rockies franchise, I'm looking to move Trevor Story to a team in need of a solid MI prospect.
The Mets are well out of contention in the middle of June. (I believe 17 or 18 games out of first and 15+ out of WC. I'm at work, so I don't have actual figures in front of me.)
Here's what I was thinking:
Mets get: SS Trevor Story
Rockies get: RP Jeurys Familia, SP Jonathan Niese, CP Bobby Parnell
I was also thinking of replacing Familia with Jordany Valdespin, and working in a storyline about him wearing out his welcome in New York (which may not be too far fetched...).
Like I said, I'm at the office right now, so I don't have specific numbers, but I do know that Story has been raking between AA and AAA all year long. I could use Parnell as a set-up man/backup closer. Niese and his heavy sinker would play well at Coors Field, and he may solidify the back of the rotation.
I have some other trade ideas in the works as well, but I'll wait on those until the deadline gets closer. I just had this thought today, and wanted to run it by the guys to see what the thoughts were.
