What prospect do you guys think the Yankes would have to move for Rios? Grandy is out for a while and I need some outfield help. CHI is pretty much out of it if that helps. -

I think right now the Rockies are going to stick with their current rotation: Oswalt, JDLR, Chacin, Nicasio, Chatwood. If one of those players falter (most likely Nicasio) they would call up Pomeranz to take his spot.
How is Garza doing and how is the Rockies rotation performing? and where are they at in the playoff race (division/wild card)?Denver Broncos

Re: 2013 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
This is a move I could actually see happening.
Like I said, they are quickly running out of patience with Matzek and his inability to put the ball over the plate. Even though he has outstanding stuff, his command leaves a lot to desire.
The Rockies boast one of the deepest group of catching prospects in baseball. With Rosario entrenched as the starter, and a plethora of guys working their way up (namely their recent draftee Tom Murphy), I could see them be more than willing to give up Swanner+ to pick up a front line starter.
I think you're on to something here. Come up with a proposal and we'll see what we've got.The Rockies have actually looked at acquiring Garza before. It would really depend on stats.

Rockies rotation:
Chacin - 5.02 ERA
De Le Rosa 3.51 ERA
Nicasio - 3.41 ERA
Francis - 4.46 ERA
Friedrich - 6.06 ERAComment

With those numbers I would say:
Garza for Matzek + Swanner
Jackson + Baker for Matzek + Swanner + C prospect
Judging by the rotation stats in Colorado, they would jump at the chance to get some fresh starters in there, especially if they're in contention.MLB 13 The Show Dynasty -- Mile High Magic Returns: A Colorado Rockies Dynasty Is BornComment

Thanks guys. Here's the info on the Cubs and the stats for Swanner + Matzek: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2045160130

De Le Rosa 3.51 ERA
Nicasio - 3.41 ERA

Friedrich - 6.06 ERA
If that is the rotation they are going with, then I say the Garza trade is fine. Especially because Garza has been pretty hot in his last 5 starts.
You got the OK from me.

Thank you both very much, that was very helpful. I'll send down Friedrich and bring up Pomeranz. It looks like Francis has been pitching a bit out of the bullpen so I'll make sure he stays there. I'll probably trade Garza + Hairston (Cuddyer is struggling and Rutledge is injured) for Matzek + Swanner. Thanks again!Comment

My laptop crashes for one day and I miss all of THIS. Geez lol.
Thanks bro. I know, but I was debating someone in the 2K13 franchise progress forum about it. He said he won't make any lopsided deals that exploit trade AI. But he actually did that deal (sorry to make you cringe wih this one). I wanted to run it through here though, lol"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Matzek + Swanner is plenty for Garza.
Just my opinion.

I don't think it's really an overpay considering Swanner is hitting .400... but the Rockies don't need Hairston at all.Denver Broncos

Garza's numbers aren't sterling, but he's an upgrade over most of the pitching staff. I think a Garza, Chacin, DLR, Nicasio, Pomeranz/Chatwood rotation is actually pretty solid.
Garza is worth two high B's according to the spreadsheet. Should be plenty.

True, but Matzek hasn't been great.

AC, didn't I say "one of"? I remember you liking this thread so much from day one that you very respectfully took it over on NFG's behalf.Comment
