    Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

In my first year as the Cubs I was able to draft 7!!!! A prospects.

4 of which were blue chip .... Now with the 2nd pick in the draft 2 maybe .. but 4 seems high.

I invested heavily into scouting and i understand not all of them will pan out but still.

Also I noticed at one point in year 1 there were 8 of the top 50 prospects listed in the rule 5 draft.

        Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

My lineup the St. Louis Cardinals. Completed 2 trades and standing pat until All Star Break. Cardinals traded Dylan Bundy and 2 prospects for David price. Almost didn't accept trade but they were loaded with pitching and very top heavy. 2nd trade was a blockbuster deal. Cards traded Justin masterson , Dayan viciedo , and chris Perez to the mets for Danny Espinosa , lance Lynn , and wie yen Chen. I gave up dayan viciedo who I think will really bust out this year and compete for batting titles. But this gives me a more versatile bench and upgrades rotation by swapping wie yen Chen and Trevor cahill as my 5th starter depending on opponents lineup.

C Salvador Perez / Anthony ruff
        1B Freddie Freeman
2B Jason kipnis / Danny Espinosa
3B Mike Moustakas / Brett Lawrie
        SS Manny Machado
        LF Bryce Harper
        CF Starling Marte
RF Giancarlo Stanton / Jay Bruce

        David Price
        Jarrod Parker
        Lance Lynn
        Felix Doubront
Trevor Cahill / Wie yen Chen

        Willy peralta
        Junichi Tazawa
        William Thompson
        Joe Johnson
        Quintana
        Mitchell Boggs CL

Anthony ruff and willaim Thompson I think are CPU generated but they both play great for me.

Position battle is at 3rd with lawrie and Moustakas My main strategy is big lefty bats that I'll control to help the contact. So mike has got off to a great start. But lawrie has been filling in at 1st against lefties to give Freddie a break and his defense has been looking a little better than mikes at 3rd but we face mainly rhp so we will see how it goes. 15 games into the season. Boston is same as before.

I feel like I at least owe an update on the Redsox. Jon jay and mike trout sit atop their lineup and Cory has them running wild ! We stL homers so me and Everett were a little skeptical Jon jay could run like this but he is succeding very well. Mike trout has more SB than games played 17sb / 15 games played. Jason heyward is the leading slugger Michael pineda has put up some nice k totals for him. My favorite thing to watch is how Cory uses Jonathan Sanchez and Juan Pierre. They have always worked for him. They may be forgotten by some now but he still uses them an they still playing great Idk if it's things like having their pitching motion down or swing down but they have always worked for him.

I got swept in the first series of the season vs. The rangers. I could hit ok but I could not drive in the runs. Frustrating

I've asked this before (I think) but can't remember where to check back for an answer.

Anyway, I signed K-Rod when I started my franchise and after a while decided I didn't need him. When I went to trade him it said something along the lines of "this is a recently signed FA and can not be traded". How long does that last? I was going to search but couldn't remember the exact verbiage.

Is there a way to actually see the list of top 50 prospects, or is it just the symbol next to the guys name?

There is not a list. You just have to look through each team.

After starting 0-3 in my fantasy draft season with the Astros, I have won 2 straight against the A's and I will play the last game of the series later to try and take the sweep. My bats are finally starting to drive in runs and Michael Pineda and Justin Masterson did incredibly well in their first starts. Madison Bumgarner will be on the mound for the series finally. Wish me luck!

How are you guys dealing w the lack of strikeouts by pitchers when simming?

Do the sliders have ANY affect on this?

Adjusting the ratings is tedious especially considering this may be fixed in a patch.

Well the series finally didn't go se well with the A's and Bumgarner got rocked the whole game. The next series is the mariners and I won the first 2 games, making my record 4-4. I will play the last game today with Michael Pineda in the mound.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the second game of the series with the mariners was a classic. I took a 3-0 lead early but they came back to tie it in the fifth. Then I got 1 run in the 7th until they tied it again in the bottom of the 9th. Then in the 10th inning, of all people on my team, Eric Young Jr. Hits a 2 run homer to take the lead. Then my bullpen closed it out. It was a nerv racking game!

I like to act like a GM and sim ALOT. At first i loved the fact of the new scouting system and that older players go down. Well now im in 2019 and found some things that make game hard to sim. I drafted this SP that become a 99 at age 23 which was great. He has pitched 5 seasons and won Cy young 4 times BUT now at the OLD age of 27 he is dropping like crazy. He has gone from a 99 to a 86 in 5 yrs after winning Cy young 4 times. I get that players will fall but not in the peak of there playing career and after winning 4 Cy Youngs. Then there a fact that i guess i draft way to damn well cause now i got 95+ ovr guys in the minors cause i have nowhere to play them. Young guys jump WAY to fast. I draft alot of 18,19 y/o that are in the 40's range and in 2,3 yrs they are now mid 90's. So all my players are 90+ and i got minor leaguers that are 90+. Just hard to enjoy game this way
