Simmed to the offseason to get an idea of what stuff needs to be done before i start my proper franchise.

When re-signing players in the off-season should i resign most of my players and just leave a few spots open or make big changes, not sure what the norm is for baseball.

Also why do players have stats for the up coming season when no games have been played. 2013 off season and players have 2014 stats in there player card.
There's some good info here on how the offseason works this year. It may help you decide how to handle things.

      Oakland Athletics

2013: finish 3rd in al west behind angels and rangers 88-74. ranked 18th overall team. missed playoffs obviously. 10% budget increase. al mvp-prince fielder...nl mvp-carlos beltran. washington loses the world series to the red sox jonny gomes ws mvp

2014:finish 1st in al west. 93-69. my overall team rank 15th. lose in first round to tampa bay who goes on to lose the world series to arizona diamondbacks ws mvp-hunter pence for ariz. al mvp- miguel cabrera. nl mvp-jason heyward. 10% budget increase this year as well.

      2015 lineup: name/age/overall/potential

      C-Travis D'Arnaud/26/86/B
      1B-Justin Smoak/28/84/A
      2B-Jemile Weeks/28/78/C
      3B-Hiroyuki Nakajima/32/82/B
      SS-Jed Lowrie/30/87/B
      LF-Coco Crisp/35/80/B
      CF-Yoenis Cespedes/29/95/A
      RF-Josh Reddick/28/93/A
      Sp- Jarrod Parker/26/94/A, Brett Anderson/27/92/A, AJ Griffin/27/91/A, Tom Milone/28/91/A, and Edinson Volquez/31/83/B
      Cp-Houston Street/31/92/A

all 99ovrs in 2015: DET-miguel cabrera and verlander, CWS-chris sale, TOR-jose bautista, Yanks- cano, Giants- buster posey, Dodgers-matt kemp and dustin pedroia, Rockies- cargo and tulo, Pitt-Cutch, MIL- Braun, NYM- kershaw, Nats- Stras, Miami-Stanton, Atl- kimbrel, Tex- Darvish, Seattle- Felix, LAA-Trout and hamilton.

notes* i have a 25 year old CF with an 83 overall and A potential (usually starts instead of coco) i signed for 10 years in my first year so im thinking that even with a 3rd straight budget increase i wont be able to afford yoenis and i might have to trade him off for some really good prospects which sucks i really like him, and i cant just let him walk for free but thats small market for ya. I also have 3 top 50 prospects 2 are starting pitchers one a closer. im ranked the 12th best team overall right now. felix still with seattle i hate that hes still in my division. 1st 2nd and 3rd ovr teams nats, braves, reds. didnt even want this to be serious until osfm but soo much fun..ive played chise with cubs royals braves and angels as well and oakland has been by far been the most fun if your looking for a fun small market team to rebuild and play with they would be my pick.. sorry for being so long

I'm about to start my first franchise & i decided to go with the Royals& during Spring Training I did a couple of big moves.

First i sent The Marlins SP James Shields & CP Greg Holland & I acquired Giancarlo Stanton.

My Second trade I sent the Angels 1B Billy butler & LF Alex Gordon for Mike Trout.

Are you playing with force trades, or budgets off, or both. I can't get trout or Stanton no matter what I offer?

No at first I couldnt get Stanton so i did the trout deal first and I simmed the first two days of Spring Training and then i was able to acquire Stanton.

I don't know how anyone can enjoy a franchise playing like this.

I simmed a season with the Brewers and a certain Ramone Russell (black 2B in glasses in my minors) just cannot stay healthy. His injuries range from broken nails, strained fingers to a case of debilitating diarrhea.

I'm running with the Angels, Trout, Trumbo and Puljos are in minor slumps. Wells is still on my roster and is playing well making it unrealistic of me following the real team action of trading him.
I cannot believe it we are 1-4 having been swept by the Reds and winning one game from Texas, Hopefully we can get on a streak against the A's and we are at home.

Enjoy blasting home runs into the fountains in KC. Trout will be fun too with the big outfield he will be a triple machine. Whtr you going to do ab pitching tho?? lol
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

Since I was only two games in, I rebooted my dynasty post-patch.

While I loved last year's game, one of the frustrating things was how my bullpen got smacked around a good bit last year. In the opener tonight, Walden struck out one of the two batters he faced; Venters struck out the only one he faced; and Kimbrel fanned two more. If my pen is going to stay that nasty, this is going to be fun.

I always like a good bull pen to back up my starter. The Braves have a good pen but I will be the stros in my chise so my bullpen is pretty bad.

Something like 1.2 mil over 2 years, so yeah not realistic at all
