Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I like to act like a GM and sim ALOT. At first i loved the fact of the new scouting system and that older players go down. Well now im in 2019 and found some things that make game hard to sim. I drafted this SP that become a 99 at age 23 which was great. He has pitched 5 seasons and won Cy young 4 times BUT now at the OLD age of 27 he is dropping like crazy. He has gone from a 99 to a 86 in 5 yrs after winning Cy young 4 times. I get that players will fall but not in the peak of there playing career and after winning 4 Cy Youngs. Then there a fact that i guess i draft way to damn well cause now i got 95+ ovr guys in the minors cause i have nowhere to play them. Young guys jump WAY to fast. I draft alot of 18,19 y/o that are in the 40's range and in 2,3 yrs they are now mid 90's. So all my players are 90+ and i got minor leaguers that are 90+. Just hard to enjoy game this way
But I have to ask you, did the SP that won 4 Cy Young awards get hurt any? Because if it was a serious injury I could understand him falling fast, but I bet that's not the case.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
My brother and I have finished our first season. He's playing as the Royals (86-76) and the Marlins (59-103) while I am the Mariners (71-91) and Cubs (65-97). I've noticed that even after dumping salary throughout the season we're still pretty broke come next season after re-signing our players. With the Mariners I lost Kendry Morales but managed to get Paul Konerko to replace him for cheap. Also picked up Dee Gordon to lead off and Brandon Beachy. The Cubs and Marlins stayed the same as its a slow build there. Picked up some younger players throughout the season (Starling Marte, 3rd baseman named Albert Almanza, Michael Brantley). The Royals added some pieces as well but I forget honestlyComment

Well the series finally didn't go se well with the A's and Bumgarner got rocked the whole game. The next series is the mariners and I won the first 2 games, making my record 4-4. I will play the last game today with Michael Pineda in the mound.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the second game of the series with the mariners was a classic. I took a 3-0 lead early but they came back to tie it in the fifth. Then I got 1 run in the 7th until they tied it again in the bottom of the 9th. Then in the 10th inning, of all people on my team, Eric Young Jr. Hits a 2 run homer to take the lead. Then my bullpen closed it out. It was a nerv racking game!I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Currently 17-6 with my Halos on a 6 game win streak. I'm hitting on veteran and pitching on HOF. I'm hitting .276 as a team and my team era is 3.02. I want to move to All Star hitting but it gets frustrating at times and plus its not like I'm killing it on Veteran so I'll stay put for now. Recently switched to Classic Pitching and loving it, every game I get a little better with it.
Josh Hamilton is a beast, I swear if I sit fastball and power swing it is gone like all the time. I sparingly power swing, he is pretty much the only one I do it with anyways.
Suprisingly Jason Vargas has been dominant so far with a 3-0 2.21 era
Wilson and Blanton have been struggling with era's above 4.50
The Big Three so far:
Trout- .290 8 Hrs 16 RBI 8 SB
Pujols- .255 7 Hrs 18 RBI
Hamilton- .362 10 HRs 21 RBILA Angels
Dallas Cowboys
Anaheim DucksComment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Might be able to give some insight into all your 90+ rated players. Are you simming spring training, or just ending spring training? If you are simming, then all of your players are progressing a whole seasons worth during spring training alone and then also progressing during the season. Solution is to end spring training instead of simming it.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
It sounds like there is a maximum year ceiling on players, for example, they will allow the player to only stay at 99 for 6 years (not sure if this is 100% correct for the time, just an estimation) and then the player will start to decrease no matter what. Ive heard it happening alot with trout, where at 28 hes retired. I obviously dont have a sollution or anything, I was thinking, maybe if you have a 99 ovr, just knock them down to 98 b/c they wouldnt be at their ceiling yet, but ive yet to test thisComment

If you press "end spring training" then the progression/regression doesn't work as good/bad.Comment
