Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started a new franchise with Astros, guess im a glutton for punishment. Their pitching staff is a tough one to win with. I made a few signings to start the year, 3B Scott Rolen, RP Brian Wilson and Bobby Jenks...I LOVE hitting with Chris Carte, i can see him being a building block for me. bad news is 5 games in he gets hurt and is out for 3-4 weeks. Made a few trade to help my lineup. Traded Matt Dominguez to the indians for Ryan Raburn, fairly serviceable guy and can pay numerous spots. Big trade was JD Martinez to Giants for Ryan Vogelson and Gregor Blanco. Another quality arm to add to Norris and a good speed guy at the top of the line-up...Looking forward to building some more and see whee i can finish the year with this team..PSN: OverPar8Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I probably had my most legit and most tough game in MLB The Show games.
won 9-0, threw 8.1 perfect innings before a stupid Chris Johnson ponder broke it up.
The score doesn't tell the whole story though...the game started out great, opening day 2013 Phillies @ Braves, Hamels vs. Hudson. The first four innings both pitchers were perfect, Hamels bloop singles to end Hudson's and I score two runs that inning. The game remained 2-0 all the way to the 7th inning, where after a 3-run Nix bomb make it 5-0, i go all the way up 9-0 and have a blast of an inning. Now, here comes the 9th. Uggla flies out for the first out and up comes Johnson, on the 6th pitch of the at bat 2-2 i give him an high and inside out of the zone fastball and he bloops it to left center just to where Revere couldn't get it. I pull Hamels right after and Stutes comes in goes 0.2 of an inning with two hits and a K to finish it out.
What a game.Come hang with me on YouTube! I stream/make videos on a variety of games from sports, to action, to adventure!

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I'm gonna see how Pena holds up, if he can produce maybe later in the summer/sept and i may give him a few looks. Cosart could be very soon lol i do like the arms ive got now tho, with adding wilson and jenks along with W Wright and Veras i'm fairly happy with what ive got. Unforeseen injury's could speed it up but im not in a big rush to bring either up right now.PSN: OverPar8Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I played a wild game against the Orioles with the Yanks. I was down 9-7 in the bottom of the 9th after leading 7-4 going into the 9th. Two errors and a Youk home run later, I win 10-9 and have a 7 or 8 win streak going. About to start a series with Arizona in the Boogie Down.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Hamels struck out 13 of my Braves tonight. And Uggla didn't strike out once. This game is so freaking unrealistic!
SpoilerI kid about it being unrealistic, but I did think it was funny Uggla didn't strike out at all.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
So, big success this off-season!
I signed Selection B, as suggested by some of you. Selection B is none other then Jason Heyward! However, this cost me a lot more money then he was asking as I got in a bidding war with Kansas City for him. Who was Selection A then? Selection A was Jose Bautista, who was picked up by the Brewers. I was also able to sign RP Neftali Feliz to a modest deal. These 2 signings put me at the top of my budget though, so I was cut off from signing anyone else.
These 2 additions were just absolutely critical. Feliz gives me an excellent arm in the bullpen, and taking some pressure off Joba. Heyward gives me an excellent defensive fielder out there who should also be a solid contact hitter. I really think I should be able to win out a Wild Card birth this year, and I should have prospects emerging in the OF and SP staff to beef up my roster from within the organization in 2017. I believe this franchise is finally on track to be a solid playoff contender by 2020, if not a World Series contender.
