Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I think Halladay just died in my game... He got hit in the arm/shoulder on a line drive in the 1st inning, they did the animation cut scene with him down on a knee and saying he would shake it off.
Skip to the 2nd inning he takes a rocket to the dome and goes down on his back paralyzed most likely because he definitely wasn't moving; Charlie Manuel came out and threw his arms up like he was saying "come on, get up p u s s y" that made my day
EDIT: So I figured after the game I would have to put him on the DL but nope, nothing... kind of bummed getting a legit injury that forces a player out of the game and no DL time but then on the flip side, there are players that hurt themselves in warm ups and have to miss a few weeks. Doesn't make much sense to me.Last edited by xSiQ; 03-30-2013, 03:38 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Since I was only two games in, I rebooted my dynasty post-patch.
While I loved last year's game, one of the frustrating things was how my bullpen got smacked around a good bit last year. In the opener tonight, Walden struck out one of the two batters he faced; Venters struck out the only one he faced; and Kimbrel fanned two more. If my pen is going to stay that nasty, this is going to be fun.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Waiting for the rosters to come out, decided to just play GM. So been simming. Last year lost (I'm the Reds) lost to Boston in the world series in game seven. Had the best overall team (so by the rankings), offseason came and went and lost some players. Some guys were getting old and too expensive so I had to drop them.
Dropped to 6th in the rankings and just simmed the year and ened up with a 115-47 record (last year was like 102-60 I think). Just some of the new guys picked it up, but surprised to see us rank up the wins. So far Washington was second with 96-66 and basically won every award for the fielders, but pitchers I dominated. My ace was 24-0 on the year. Craziness. Hopefully can win the World Series this year.
EDIT: So Almost lost to the Nat's, was up 2-0, then was tied 3-3, before winning in seven. Beat White Sox in 6 games. Ironically when I posted this first thinking it was amazing year apparently the board didn't agree with me and I lost 2% percent of my budget. Well apparently my 115 wins wasn't on par.Last edited by cincy14fan; 04-02-2013, 04:56 PM.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Took the Giants back to the WS and lost in game 7 to the Rangers after 12 innings.
The Off season saw Strasbug traded to Boston for Lester and the Braves sent Howard to the Rangers for N.Cruz.
I let Licecum go and he was the biggest FA signing heading to the Pirates, I grabbed J.Pierre to add a little more speed to my lineup.Comment

He had another down season for me, and while I would have resigned him as a 91 ovr I figured in real if he had another bad year the Giants would let him go so I did.Comment

now that the osfm roster is out is it safe to start a franchise using it or will future versions bring some significant edits and possible bug fixes worth waiting for?

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
With the OSFM rosters out, I'm going to start my Astros franchise today, let's see how far can I go
I normally play a game every three series, so that way I end up playing 16-17 games every season (just like a Madden season...). Not a ton, but that will me give the chance to go deep in the franchise.Comment

2-1 in my Tigers franchise after taking 2 out of 3 against the Twins (won 10-3, lost 3-1, won 5-1). Now I'm taking on the Yankees in the home opener. I'm already hooked.Comment

Played 5 games so far in chise since OSFM came out with my Cubbies. First 3 games i swept PIT scoring 8+ runs per game hitting .400+ so i went up to Hall of Fame on hitting. Then played ATL which i lost only scoring 1 run but Minor was dealing. Then won game 5 with 7 runs scored.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I'm rolling with Seattle and it's been harder than I thought it was going to be. I took them because they have an awesome farm and some nice pieces in the majors and all I really need to do is plug a few holes and mold the team into my style. Only change I made was booting Raul Ibanez and signing Scott Podsednik.
6 games in I am 2-4 scoring 5 runs the opening game, but have been held to on 7 runs the next 5 games. I have 1 homerun and 12 RBI's. My pitching has done well except Beavin giving up 8 in 3 innings.
My team looks quite different pitcher wise who I kept on the big roster over real life.

Hector Noesi, Jeremy Bonderman and Bobby LaFromboise have been good surprises for me so far and Franklin Gutierrez, Jesus Montero, Kendrys Morales & Michael Saunders have been the only ones on offense doing anything and I mean anything lol. My line up needs to be switched up quite a bit I know, but feeling them all out right now.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started my Giants franchise with the OSFM rosters and beat LA 6-2 on opening day.
I even somehow luckily stole home!I had Pagan on first and Belt on third and decided to steal 2nd with Pagan. I forgot to only specify to steal with Pagan so Belt broke home. I was thinking I blew that run, but the pitch was a sinker that the catcher had trouble with and it bounced around in front of him long enough for me to steal both.
to everyone that worked on the rosters as well. Awesome as usual. Hope to post more as the season goes on. I usually play 1 sim, the middle, and play the last of every three game series.
