Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I'd do:
Lawrie 3b
Kipnis 2b
Stanton Rf
Bruce Dh
Harper Lf
Freeman 1b
Perez C
Machado Ss
Marte Cf
... Stanton is a better RF then Bruce.. But you can't have Bruce in LF so he must Dh. Marte is a defensive must for Cf and you'd have 3 GG caliber Of with Harper in Lf. Always play Freeman no matter the matchups.. This would be my lineup every game unless resting a player.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Continued from Stlouis cards fantasy draft. 3 users. St Louis won 7-3 Opening day @ Arizona. Darvish was fierce. Man did he throw a bunch of strikes. I might have k'ed ab 12 times. My timing is way off still but my team has an all or nothing approach. It felt authentic. They should k alot. But it will improve with my timing. Arizona had jemile weeks mike Napoli Jesus montero Jason werth Made it a tough day for a lefty David Price. Missed a double play opportunity still getting a feel for first meter when the ball leaves your hand then begin to hold circle to finish double play. Moustakas came up big with a three run shot to start the scoring It was 4-2 most of game Totally CANSECO 'D a fly ball over the fence with Stanton ! I jumped up to rob it and his glove was kinda faced down and hit back of glove and went over. Totally cool
Red sox line up and pitching. His lineup is a little early needs some tweaking jus too eager to play a game lol
Vs rhp
Jon jay Lf
Mike Trout CF
Jason heyward Rf
Pablo sandoval 1b
Dan uggla 2b
Ryan Zimmerman 3b
Ian Desmond SS *
Yasmani grandal c
Juan Pierre DH
Mike olt 3b , Sean Rodriguez (Swiss army knife) , Kurt Clutch Suzuki.
Update the rest later still early. Another trade soon.I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Please help a newbie out!
Can you do an online co-op franchise in this game?
When do the actual rosters come out? I don't see any rookies.
When you start the franchise do you go right to the draft or is that after the year?
Thanks in advance! It's very much appreciated!

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
First time in a few years i got the Show, Started a franchise with my tribe. a tad dissappointed theres Dice-K but no Kazmir so i created him, i also created Draft Prospect Clint Frazier since i dont like any of the current OF prospects or guys in the system and needed a 4th OF, Made Kazmir a 74 and Frazier a 73.
Skipped ST, Also tired of Jimenez forgetting how to pitch past 3 innings so i put him in the BP, but since they really dont have anyone else yet who can step up to a #2 i put Kazmir in that spot since if he's back to normal like everyone claims he'll be there soon to begin with
Rotation
1-Masterson
2-Kazmir
3-Myers
4-McAllister
5-Bauer
Pen-
Jimenez
Hill
Allen
Albers
Smith
Pestano
Perez
Lineup-
1-Bourn
2-ACab
3-Kipnis
4-Swisher
5-Santana
6-Brantley
7-Reynolds
8-Chisenhall
9-Stubbs/Frazier
Bench-
Aviles
Raburn
Marson
Frazier
Won the 1st game vs Toronto 1-0, RA Dickeys Knuckleball is a pain in the A** to hit in this game, just for future reference. won the 2nd game 3-0, Having all that speed in the OF and good gloves in the infield has really helped big timeComment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Cubs Franchise - Doing realistic rosters besides injured players.
Rotation
Garza
Shark
Jackson
Baker
Wood
Starting out solid 4-3. Good for my Cubbies. Hitting has been average with Rizzo and Castro putting the team on their shoulders. Pitching has been good with Jackson and Travis Wood putting up great games. Garza and Shark have been decent and Baker struggled. We won 2 games in late innings. To keep above .500 we will have to start hitting better. Fun so far!Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
lost game 3 to Toronto 4-3. Myers gave up a run each of the first 3 innings then i pulled him for Jimenez who gave up just 1 in the last 4, scored 3 runs in the 8th, 2 came off Carlos Santanas second HR of the year but just fell short in the 9th with runners at 1st and 2nd and 2 out Brantley grounded outComment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started a chise with the Rays HOF, zone hitting, pulse pitching, button accuracy fielding. Pulse pitching is difficult (hard to hit your spots but fun) fielding is difficult also on hof but i'm getting use to it. I play every game hate simming (no offense to those that do) lost first 2 gms had 7 errors combined gave up 10 and 11 runs versus the orioles, in 1st two gms. 3rd game shuy them out 5-0, then it was on to play the Indians won first 2 gms of series 5-4, and 2-1. In a 3 way tie for 1st place tie with the Yankees and Orioles. AVG. L.Scott 389, Hits L.Scott, D.Jennings 7, HR.B.Zorbrist,M.Joyce 2, RBI.D.Jennings, M.Joyce 4.IF U CAN'T BEAT ME LEGIT, CAN U ACTUALLY BEAT ME???Comment

thats funny i just started the Rays series and it was like a boxing match in the last few innings, Scott hit a game tying HR off Perez in the 9th to make it 2-2 but i scored 2 in the 10 to win 4-3 (gave up 1 in the bottom of the 10th)Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started my Cubs chise last night using rosters I found called "majors". They aren't full minors but did have quite a few of the big name prospects so just went with that.
Spring Training:
What I usually do at spring training is I sim 2 weeks, and then cut from 40 to 35, and then sim another 2 weeks and cut from 30 to my 25 around the last day. I feel like this gives some of my guys a chance to crack the roster. It would be ideal to play all spring training games but I can't seem to do that. So after cutting in spring training, my roster/rotation looks like this:
SP:
Garza
Samardjia
Jackson
Baker
Wood
In The Pen:
Villanueva
The japeneze guy lol(im at work and can't remember his name)
Marmol
Shawn Camp
Vizcaino
Russell
and one other younger guy who happened to have a good spring so I left him in the bigs.
Position Players:
Wellington Castillo
Dionaro Navarro
Anthony Rizzo
Darwin Barney
Starlin Castro
Luis Valbuena
Ian Stewart
Alfonso Soriano
David Dejesus
Nate Scherholtz
Scott Hairston
Tony Campana
First game was against the Pirates on opening day. Garza against Mcdonald. I was very surprised that I was not only very patient at the plate and drew several walks, but I also actually walked a few Pirates. The game was scoreless and hitless in the 4th for both teams, when Alfonso Soriano doubled off the wall to drive in Rizzo who had walked in the previous at bat. In the 5th, with a 1-0 game still, Gaby Sanchez hit a three run home run for the Pirates giving them the 3-1 lead. Garza left after the 6th inning down 3-1, but my bats finally came alive, with Ian Stewart hitting a 3 run home run to make it 4-3. Starlin Castro also drove in a sac fly this inning to make it 5-3. Vizcaino pitched the 7th & 8th innings, giving up a run but striking out 4. Kid has nasty pitches, but must work on his control. Marmol came in and struck out the side in the 9th to pick up his first save and give the Cubs an opening day win.
Excited to go home tonight and get a couple more games in. I plan to play every 5th game, that way I am starting with different pitchers each time and getting through the season at a decent rate. By starting every 5th game , I will only 32 games a season rather than 162.Comment
