Ending ST makes world of difference in simming. Almost seems like players are to slow at getting better now lmao. ITs prolly cause im used to see guys jumping up 20 points per year and now maybe only jumping up 3-5. One thing that im going to have to change is my draft style lol. All these 18,19 y/o A guys that i draft will take 10+ yrs to make it to MLB lol.

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
if you skip ST progression is alot better. IM in year 2017 and not many studs from draft. PLayers are not declining at age 27. They seem to start declining around 32 which is about right. Next thing i might try is to sim ST once every 3 yrs cause in 2017 there are rarely any draftees in the MLB that are difference makers. So my thinking is that 2013 i end ST then in 2014 il sim ST to help get some younger guys into the game then end ST 15 and 16 then sim ST in 17. Keep going with that pattern and see how it works. Basically when you sim ST its simming guys 2 full years. So that is why guys were dropping at 27-28 y/o. This way when only simming ST once out of every 3 yrs then guys wont be dropping like crazy and kids will still be big part of franchise.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I set up a Season last night and then simmed ahead a bit to see if progression happened during the season. It does, but isn't extreme.
Then I set up a Franchise and skipped spring training all together. Progression was much better.
So now I'm back to the dilemma of do I want to deal with my minor leagues, or just worry about my 40-man roster?Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I haven't seen anything about this yet; but in the franchise that I'm playing with my brother Spring Training is about to begin and we don't have full 90 man rosters. Some teams are a few players shy, but one team, the Marlins has just 41 players. My question is; will we have to go out and sign each individual player or will the computer auto-sign them for me?Comment

Braves starter Julio Teheran, is looking to make the teams rotation. Teheran struggled last year both in Triple A and the few innings he appeared in during the season but is looking to bounce back this spring and capture that 5 starting spot.
So far this spring Teheran seems to have the inside track for the 5 spot posting 20 innings and only allowing 3 earned runs while striking out 22.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Started up an Astros Sim franchise to get used to the new training and scouting. Must say, I love the new scouting!!!
Anyways, I started out by dropping some players that will never contribute ANYTHING. Then I went and signed the following:
Myself created. SS that specializes in fielding. 72 overall
SP Dallas Braden
3B Brandon Inge
1B Jim Thome
I'm using updated Show rosters.
We jumped out to an impressive 6-3 start on the season, taking the series against Oakland and sweeping Seattle on the road. However, after April, we sit at 12-15. I anticipate a long rebuilding process, a lot of promising players in the draft for this season, I've scouted a few potential picks. I plan to rebuild the team around Altuve and myself. My pitching situation is beyond a mess, so IDK what I'm gonna do there. I hope I find an outstanding SP prospect for this years draft.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
So if you want to sim and act like a GM 100% sure DO NOT SIM SPRING TRAINING at all. Im in 2020 and league mixture of 2013 talent + draft + CPU created specs. I cant wait for OSFM rosters to be out. Simming with that roster is going to be the best. Again DO NOT SIM SPRING TRAINING or it will throw the league into problems.Comment
