Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Decided to start with a clean slate and go injury-free for myself (Braves) and the rest of the league.
I went with all cyber faces for the first time because the OSFM rosters were so well done (and I love it!)
Record: 41-23 (1.5 GB Nationals)
Top Performers
- Pitching Staff - 3.48 Team ERA with Medlen out most of the year.
- Brian McCann is leading the NL in hitting at .347. Leads team with 17 HR.
- When McCann isn't in there, Evan Gattis is hitting .330 with 6 HR
- B.J. Upton is hitting .315
- Craig Kimbrel is lights out (22 of 23 saves and a 1.90 ERA)
- Mike Minor has been the best starter (5-3 with a 2.67 ERA, QS in 9 of 12 games)
Slow Starters
- Kris Medlen made five starts before tearing his shoulder labrum and landing on the 60-day DL. He should be ready for the start of the second half once I run him through a rehab start. He had a 4.50 ERA prior to the injury.
- Andrelton Simmons, Freddie Freeman, Dan Uggla hitting sub .250
- Jonny Venters has struggled in the 8th inning. Jordan Walden has twice as many holds with almost half the ERA.
- Brandon Beachy sporting a 4.40 ERA with two wins
Best Moments so far:
- Gattis hit a 2-run bomb at home in his first at-bat
- It took until May 3 for Julio Teheran to get his first win. He went 7 IP, 7 hits, ER, 7 K's (lots of sevens) to beat the Mets. It was the turning point for him. He is yet to lose since that start.
Most Embarrassing Moment:
Felipe Paulino threw a 2-hit shutout in KC. I didn't rest a single starter in that game.
Randomness
The Nationals' pitching staff has been incredible. All five starters have ERA's under 3.50. Haren, Gio and Zimmermann are 1-2-3 in the NL Cy Young race. The really scary part is they also rank 5th in hitting. They have led the division race since Opening Day.
AL MVP Race so far is Miggy vs. Trout again. Miggy is leading, but shouldn't be.
Matt Kemp leads NL MVP Race. He destroyed me for 8 RBI in our recent 4-game series.
Personnel Moves
I need to deal McCann because I can't afford to re-sign him but he is making it really difficult. Need to find a good trade to get back some prospects.

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I just want to post my game last night. We are 65 games in and it has been a little stale lately but for no reason I was stoked ab last nights game !!
I check it out I'm going against Yu Darvish. Ok he tore me apart 1 ST game of the year. Starts the game K ing my first 2 batters. Every single pitch was on the black. Not exaggerating. If it was a ball it was on the black outside. A strike was getting nestled in the corners perfect. Any and every pitch he threw was right where he wanted it. Im use to this on MLB. Jus take pitches wait for something over the plate or something close in a Hitters count. By ab the 5 th inning if your taking enough pitches you can try and get aggressive on the starter but Darvish did this until the 7th inning. All I got from him was a solo shot. 1-0 in the 5th. I blew it in the 8th 1-1. I won in the 11th 2-1.
Recently traded Lance Lynn and Jarrod Parker for Matt Harvey and Chris Tillman. I got the shaft but I wanted to step back some. Chris Tillman was awesome with his 12-6 curve. Much better feel for this guy He only got 50 stamina tho wassup with that ??
Back to the excitement. I go check my scouts and I can't select it. It's grayed out. Just found out from a friendly OS user my amateur draft is next !! Sweet !!
Also that game against Darvish was my last to finish that series and homestand. Now I start a road trip visiting Cinncinatti , NY mets and Miami. I have been waiting to play these stadiums all year so far. Didn't wanna select them early, been letting the anticipation build !! And I'm sucked back in !!!I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. I have two games left in April in my Red Sox franchise and plan on giving a in-depth report once I finish the month. However, I just wanted to post that Big Papi has be ripping the cover off of the ball since he has returned from the DL.
I don't have the stats in front of me, but if I recall correctly he is batting .550+, with 10 HR's and 24 RBI in about 12-13 games. It's not a difficulty level either, as the majority of those games were fast-forwarded. None of my other players are really putting numbers up like that, so I'm wondering if it's just a matter of Ortiz having a Barry Bonds like couple of weeks or if there's an issue with fast forwarding

Great opening day game. It was a pitchers duel. Darvish vs Hernandez. Zunino hit an rbi double in his first major league AB but could not put up anything else against Darvish. Hernandez had 8K and his only mistake was a changeup that hung over the plate to Moreland who crushed it. Rule 5 pick Kyle Parker came through in his first career game as he hit a home run in the 10th of Soria. Exciting game as my two new players came through.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I just finished the month of April in my Red Sox Franchise. I'm currently in first place in the AL East with a record of 17-10 (up 2 game over TB, 3 over BAL) which is good enough for 2nd best record in the AL only trailing the 19-9 A's.
We started off the season slow posting a 7-6 record over the first two weeks of the season. However, the next two weeks we caught fire and won 10 of the next 15 games (including 7 in a row at one point. We swept AL leading Oakland and took 3 of 4 from Houston). Coincidentally this streak coincided with the return of David Ortiz from the DL. Since returning Ortiz is looking like the Ortiz of 7-8 years ago. Playing in only 15 games (62 AB) he is hitting .500 with 11 HR (tied with Jose Batista for Leauge Leader despite having 32 less AB's) and 24 RBI.
Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia also had big months for us. Ellsbury hit .327 with 26 hits, 5 HR, 12 RBI, 4 SB (1 cs) and leads the AL in Runs with 26. Pedroia has an average of .320, 24 hits, 7 HR, 23 RBI.
Here's the stats for the rest of the team
Starters
AVG, HR, Hits, RBI
Victorino - .255, 4, 24, 13, (2 SB)
Napoli - .250, 6, 23, 14
Middlebrooks -.241, 3, 21, 8
Gomes - .250, 5, 20, 13
Salty - .219, 3, 16, 5
Drew - .236, 3, 17, 12, (1 SB, 1 CS)
Bench
Bradley - .244, 2, 17, 4 (2 SB)
Carp - .227, 0, 5, 1
Ross - .478, 1, 11, 2
Ciriaco - .224, 0, 15, 8 (1 SB)
Pitching has been a strong point as well with the exception of our Ace Jon Lester
Starters
W-L, ERA, SO, BB, IP
Lester 2-4, 6.37, 28, 9, 35.1
Buckholz 3-0, 2.14, 25, 8, 42.0, (1 CG, SHO)
Dempster 2-2, 3.77, 28, 13, 31.0 (1 CG)
Doubront 3-0, 2.91, 35, 12, 34.0, (1 CG SHO)
Lackey 2-1, 2.83, 21, 4, 35.0
Bullpen
W-L, ERA, SO, BB, IP
Morales - 0-1, .9, 10, 0, 10
Tazawa - 1-0, 2.31, 9, 3, 11.2 (2 BS)
Bard - 2-0, 2.08, 5, 2, 8.2
Aceves - 1-1, 2.79, 5, 5, 9.2
Uehara - 0-0, .73, 8, 1, 12.1
Miller - 0-0, 0.00, 12, 7, 9.2 (1 BS)
Hanrahan - 1-0, 1.74, 8, 4, 10.1 (5 Saves)
As you can see my bullpen has been on of our strong suites as well, but don't let the low ERA's fool ya. Part of the reason for that is because a lot of our opponents runs were unearned due to our 17 fielding errors last month.
*
Andrew Bailey - 0-1, 9.64 ERA
and
Daniel Nava - .227, 5 hits, 1 RBI
are currently in AAA, but did see some MLB action this years, as well
I did lose the last two games of April (Astros and Blue Jays), so I'm hoping to get back on track to start May.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
Game 2 of my Reds chise and Chapman blows a save giving up 2 runs. It goes 15 innings and we lose to the Angels 7-4. Tough loss. Got picked off at 1st 3 times and I usually get picked off at least once a game. Something's outta whack there. It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
So the 2014 season is going pretty well for my Royals Dynasty. Here are some updates through the middle of June.
AL Central Standings
Tigers 38-27
Royals 36-29 2 GB
Twins 36-31 3 GB
Indians 32-33 6 GB
White Sox 21-45 17.5 GB
My lineup had a couple of changes. I traded SP Jordan Lyles to get SS Dee Gordon. Alcides Escobar was doing a poor job getting on base and I couldn't afford to wait for him to turn it around. I also sat 2B Darwin Barney in favor of Irving Falu. I expected Darwin to hit about .240 and give me stellar defense, but he was hitting .150.
Lineup
1) Dee Gordon, SS .257 26 H
2) Lorenzo Cain, CF .289 20 RBI
3) Alex Gordon, LF .277 12 HR 35 RBI
4) Eric Hosmer, 1B .268 6 HR 33 RBI
5) Mike Moustakas, 3B .326 8 HR 31 RBI
6) Salvador Perez, C .239 6 HR 20 RBI
7) Brandon Belt, DH .257 5 HR 21 RBI
8) Irving Falu, 2B .259 12 RBI
9) Jeff Francoeur, RF .256 8 HR 24 RBI
Rotation
1) James Shields 5-4 3.73 ERA
2) Madison Bumgarner 4-5 4.60 ERA
3) Homer Bailey 5-2 3.94 ERA
4) Wei Yin Chen 3-4 3.45 ERA
5) Wade Davis 3-6 4.26 ERA
Overall, I am happy with this team. We have one of the best pitching staffs in the league and we’re the second best defensive team. The only thing I would like to add is some more power in the lineup. Tried adding Josh Reddick, but didn’t have the assets to make a deal wit Oakland.NFL: Packers

Is there a way to prevent rosters from changing when simming spring training games? I edited every teams rosters but once I start the season and skip ST, the game automatically switches players around.Comment

Hopefully this is where this post goes and some one can help me out. But Im towards the beginning with my Franchise with the Giants, I set my team up with training assignments yet I see some of their stats decrease. Is their a reason for this? Do I need to keep changing their training everyday? I have yet to see any ones stats INCREASE! Any help would be awesome!

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
I am 33 games in my Rangers Franchise. Currently setting at 21-12. I have bat every at bat so far this season, but only pitched about 1/3 of the innings. I have been tinkering with my sliders quite a bit early in the season with the help of this thread: http://forums.theshownation.com/showthread.php?t=13275
I started the season way too good hitting and after some slider tweaks I have gotten a realistic experience. Currently I am leading the majors as a team in batting average by 1 point and sitting in second in home runs. Adrian Beltre went through the first 10 games hitting about .100 but since then has gotten his average up to .320 and now leads the American League with 12 HR's and is second in RBI's.
The biggest disappointment so far has been the pitiful play of Derek Holland. After four starts he had a record of 0-4 and an ERA of 8.71! I was forced to demote him to triple A to try and get things straightened out.DSM Transfer.

Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread
The problem is the CPU is cutting rosters from 40 to 25 man to start the season. You need to do 30-team control and move them yourself to keep it from happening. Read the thread below for instructions.
