oh, I know, I'm sure I will hit some slumps when the "dog days" of summer hit. I will likely up the pitching to the next level, as well.

Anyways, the season was a great sign for the future. We finished 85-79, beating the Mariners in a tie breaker to earn the wild card. The Rangers imploded early and went into rebuilding as they shipped out Ian Kinsler and Beltre. I also made a big move in July. The White Sox had a fire sale as they imploded as well, and I acquired Chris Sale for 3 A prospects and 2 B prospects.

Now, with a starting ace on my roster, I can begin to turn the corner. I believe my record this season was a bit inflated, as Texas and Oakland were weak. I didn't preform well against the Angels, Tigers, Royals, or Blue Jays.

Oh, the Tigers are now back to back World Series Champions! Beating the Nationals 4-2. Miguel Cabrera has won his 3rd straight MVP title (.316, 42, 135), and fell shy of a triple crown by 4 home runs. My created self on the Astros had a breakout season hitting for .312, 46 home runs, and 115 RBI's. Justin Verlander won the Cy Young (19-6, 3.03 ERA, 175 SO).

      Onto Free Agency!
How were you able to trade 5 prospects?

        Using the Tribe...

Started the season 2-4 after losing a series to the Blue Jays and Rays. Our pitching was terrible (getting outscored 55-24 in six games) and our offense was just as lacking.

Then we started a 4-game series against the Yankees to open at home.
After dropping the first game 5-4 it looked like a long series.

Then we had two straight wins from Walk-Off HRs (one from Thome and the other from Asdrubal Cabrera) the next win was a perfect game/no-hitter for Jiminez until he gave up three runs in the 8th inning. He was taken out and Bauer got the win.

Now we are 5-6 on the season with some hope creeping up.

Finished the season with the Giants 87-75 winning the west over the Dodgers 86-76.
I'll be playing the Cards while The Nats play the winner of the CIN-LAD game. Tex plays the tigers and Tor host the winners of CLE-TB wild card.

Posey grabs a 2nd MVP title while the tigers third straight player wins the AL with Prince pulling it down. Both win their Batting titles with with Prince just shy of winning the triple crown needing two more HR.

          Off to the playoffs

Send 3 for Sale, and 2 more for their worst prospect. Then cut the prospect.

                  Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

Just finished up my 2015 draft. I couldn't have had a more successful draft. There were hardly any players capable of starting next season in the league. Pretty weak draft for immediate impact players, but a LOT of potential. Here's my selections:

                  1. RF Steven Molina 19y/o, 45ovr, A pot
                  2. CF Steven Delcarmen 20y/o, 60ovr, A pot
                  3. RP Jonas Saucedo 20y/o, 55ovr, B pot
                  4. CF Mitchel Carlyle 18y/o, 51ovr, A pot
                  5. LF Stephen Bae 22y/o, 41ovr, A pot
                  6. C Eddy Lozano 23y/o, 43ovr, A pot

This draft really beefed up my farm system, and gives me room to move other prospects to acquire MLB ready players. I need to find an outstanding arm for the bullpen so that's first on my list, maybe another quality SP as well.

Right now my Astros sit at 29-25, 1,5GB of the Oakland A's who lead the division. I'm also 0.5GB of the Twins and Royals for the last WC birth. I've done well in division play, 14-14. I'll update at the end of the season! Should be an exciting one!

                    Re: 2013 Franchise/Season Progress Thread

Just a couple thoughts and notes on last nights game. 3 user Cardinals , Redsox and Tigers.

                    St.Louis cardinals

May 2nd Kicked off the series against the Brewers in Milwaukee. Continued battle for the best beer !!

Found out early why Brett Myers is still relevant .. I knew he put up good numbers off and on. Then out of no where closes a bunch of games. His trick is he's got a 12-6 curveball that breaks hard and fast. Literally gotta swing where the balls gonna be. 2 disgusting Ks to start my game then a bloop and a blast later 2-0 good guys.

The blast came from Giancarlo Stanton. Which I wonder if it's the same for everyone else but he starts cold an then go's on fire ????

Felix Doubront is still dealing for me. Anybody have any nicknames , alias , or something for him??? Even if it's homegrown it's better than nothin lol I'm in the Midwest so this pitcher was kinda under the radar on an under achieving AL east team.

                    Boston Red Sox

Madison bumgarner was perfect threw 5 ip las night. 1st pitch of the 6th Curtis Granderson put over the wall. Only hit all game until 2 outs in the 9th they got another. Yasmani grandal puts in a hard ab everytime up.
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

I already posted it in another thread but I figured that this might be the more appropriate place to ask:

For some reason I'm strangely intrigued a by the thought of using the Marlins as my team in franchise mode.
I know they are pretty bad and all that but do you guys think there is any chance they could make it to the postseason when using them as my team in franchise mode without completely giving up on realism? Could they possibly do something like Oakland did last year if all the pieces come together? I really want to play for something already in my first season so the least I would go for is being in the mix for a wild card spot until late September.
                      Spending time with Jesus!

Really doubt I could see them even contending for a Wild Card. Anything can happen though, there's no doubt about that.

You have a great player in Stanton so that's your main guy. You could make some trades to try to build your team so they can make a run at the playoffs. I would say everyone can be traded except for Stanton.

                            1. They have done it before

                            2. Braves are strong but the phillies and mets are not.

                            3. Gonna need a closer to preserve the tight ones.

4.jus my thought. Bold moves not jus transactions. Closer in the 7th if it's close and there's a man on 2nd and 3rd. Do like San Antonios Poppovich and sit the whole team. So you can get peak production more often. Not that any of these are correct but your going to have to think outside the box. That's wht makes the A's work.

I think you may need to bring in someone to protect Stanton in the line up. You need another hitter, contact or power, to hit behind Stanton so he doesn't draw so many walks. As the team sits now, I'd walk Stanton every time he came to the plate.

I was thinking of adding some of the free agents still available.
Dallas Braden (or possibly even Kyle Lohse), one middle reliever and a set up guy/closer (K Rod?) plus maybe Grady Sizemore.
