If you are getting 1 or 2 hit on All-Star, I am pretty sure dropping your hitting down to Veteran won't cause you to start destroying people. You might be able to compete and play close matches that way. Give it a shot, tweak some sliders, I am sure you can find a way to play that suits you.

Also, you talk about approach. Guessing tipped off every time the opposing pitcher is going to throw a fastball isn't an approach, it's a crutch. Just like in real baseball, sit fastball, adjust to slow stuff. Look for stuff out over the plate... If you have trouble with reaction time, lower the pitch speed.

I've only played one game thus far right before work and got 3 hit by Nolasko as well lol... I pitched pretty well, Strasburg k'd 14 over 8ip, but they got solid contact the whole game where as I had one solid hit. I know I have adjustments to make, but geesh. Gonna practice tomorrow.

The new defensive throwing meter screwed me up big time as well.

I'm having trouble hitting as well. But it's because I suck and swing at everything.

            WHEN they're (patches) released...

I believe The Show has weekly updates for things like rosters, but "patches" are random. They're usually announced in the forum here.

everyone said I was crazy last year when this was going on over on the Playstation forums.... then they patched it... different game hitting-wise. We need a server side update on their end to fix the broken hitting again this year. Just like last year I am not imagining things.
Are you talking about online hitting? Server is irrelevant for offline though...

I think you probably need to increase pitch speed a notch or two. The timing window has been adjusted in a way that you have to make a slight adjustment for this years game. From what I gathered, it's not just that the window was widened (to give some more leeway for mistiming), but also the "best" timing has been shifted slightly, so that you could still be hitting with a perfect timing when it would've been slightly late in the previous year's game.

I personally don't necessarily like this adjustment, but we will eventually adjust to the change, and things will be fine...

You have to change your approach. instead of whining on the forums try a new approach go into practice mode doing so. The game isnt broken. You're just not good at it. Sorry to be blunt but thats the gist of it.

The only ppl having a problem are those who used guess pitch as a crutch all these years. I'm hitting 600 in rtts and trying to make it harder.

Re: MLB 13 The Show Worries

The easiest fix is to the hitting "issues" is to tweak the pitch speed slider. It is different this year (default is slower) and if you are way too early on everything, just increase the slider. If you are late, decrease the slider. This slider is and always has been the most individualized of the sliders as everyone's timing is going to be different.

Oh, and the batting practice is there for a reason....perfect place to try out the pitch speed slider settings and find your groove.

Beginner mode isn't to destroy other teams, lol it's to hone your skills on the diamond. Don't knock it until you try it out a couple games.

There's no patience now. Just swing away... no idea what's coming. Missing four seamers and getting one hit by Ricky Nolasco on a default all star is not real baseball. Striking out 3 and 4 times in a game with studs like Mccutchen is not real baseball... give me a break
Why when it comes to video games people think they can't drop down a difficulty and still have a fun game? You don't have to stay on the lower setting forever and there are sliders to help with the problems you are having in the game.

Every year prior on this game though it played great out of the box on All Star. That was one of the things I really loved about it. Once you start messing with sliders & difficulty levels things never feel just right and the tinkering never really stops (madden is known for this now). Now all the sudden this game plays totally different on All Star. Not cool

This sounds like a you problem. No one likes to hear it, but it's MLB 13: The Show. Not MLB 12, or 11.

If you're struggling on one of the more difficult hitting settings and complaining while refusing to try a lower difficult setting, I think your cries are gonna fall on deaf ears, especially with the more active members and the developers of the game.

When people struggle, they lower the difficulty and work their way up. If you don't want to spend the hours to re learn then I guess you can waste hours hitting soft dribblers and pop ups. But I don't want to hear the complaints because at that point you'll just be trolling to get your voice heard.

my personal biggest worry right now concerning the show 13 is if the vita version has the new ball physics or if that feature is ps3 exclusive?
