    Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

@Pete_Dogg_18 I thought about using ARod as a DH too, but I don't want to keep Hosmer on the bench. I don't want to keep Weeks on the bench either, but I think Hosmer has more to offer as a DH. Weeks is primarily speed, and I already have a lot of that. I thought of having Weeks batting at 9, which I will when he is in. I just think having Hosmer in over Weeks makes more sense right now.

      Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

Well due to the new patch I decided to just redraft so the stats weren't all goofy.

      C: J.P. Arencibia
      1B: Ryan Howard
      2B: Alexi Casilla
      SS: Ian Desmond
      3B: Brett Lawrie
      LF: Bryce Harper
      CF: Mike Trout
      RF: Justin Upton

      P: Gio Gonzalez
P: Roy Halladay (traded Justin Turner/Liriano/A pot RF for him)
      P: Ubaldo Jimenez
      P: Patrick Corbin
      P: Dylan Bundy

Got Jansen, Storen and Brian Wilson in the pen.

Seems as though all your problems would be solved if you moved ARod haha... Maybe for some bullpen help, maybe someone like Junichi Tazawa or similar...

          Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

Okay here's my post patch draft results, I had the 9th pick in the first round...

          SP Madison Bumgarner
          SP Gio Gonzalez
          SP Dylan Bundy
          SP Dan Straily
          SP Zach Britton

          LRP Shelby Miller
          LRP Drew Pomeranz
          MRP Rex Brothers
          MRP Carter Capps
          MRP Esmil Rogers
          SU Kelvin Herrera
          CP Ryan Cook

          C Carlos Santana
          1B Paul Goldschmidt
          2B Zach Cozart
          3B Evan Longoria (via Trade)
          SS Asdrubel Cabrera (via Trade)
          LF Yoenis Cespedes (via Trade)
          CF Matt Kemp
          RF Josh Reddick

          C John Perdersen
          1B Brandon Belt
          2B Steve Lombardozzi
          OF Desmond Jennings
          OF Michael Brantley

I made a few trades, mainly because i wanted to see what i could get for Jurikson Profar, so i made the following trades

          Red Sox trade
          SS Jurikson Profar

          Phillies trade
          3B Evan Longoria

This trade worked out well for both, phillies only drafted 3 SS, the best was a 75 ovr B prospects and had Machado as a backup 3B, plus i gained a huge updrage at 3B...

          Red Sox trade
          3B Brett Lawrie

          Pirates trade
          SS Asdrubel Cabrera
          LF Desmond Jennings

This one definitly fell in my favour, but the pirates do get a great younf 3B prospect in Lawrie...

          Red Sox trade
          CF Cameron Maybin
          SP Tyler Skaggs

          Angels trade
          CF Yoenis Cespedes
Generic SP B pot, 70 ovr

This one a little fairer, Skaggs and Maybin will both develop greatly and i get an upgraded LF...

Looks like this thread has gotten way more popular since the patch. Nice to see everyone's results. I am currently on vacation and won't be back til next Thursday but I will show you guys my stacked team then. Its stacked!

I like the Astros in that draft because of pitching. Pitching wins championships, but in the show, like someone said, hitting wins championships. So that gives the cubs the edge.

                SP4 - Michael Pineda
                SP5 - Ivan Nova

                Bullpen:

                Drew Storen
                Neftali Feliz
                Nate Jones
                Drew Smyly
                Trevor Rosenthal

                Closer: Addison Reed

                Prospects: (A)

                SP Dylan Bundy
                SP Shelby Miller
                SP Alejandro Guillen

                2nd Henry Liriano
                2nd Russell Dwyer

                SS Burt Sutton

                Lineup:

                1st - Hosmer/Belt
2nd - (got two 18 year old A prospects at 70 and 62, so will be trading for a decent 2nd baseman).
                3rd - Moustakas/Lawrie
                SS - Zach Cozart
                C - Yasmani Grandal
                LF - Bryce Harper
                CF - Mike Trout
RF - Austin Jackson/Dominic Brown (Brown will be edited heavily if he continues his ST form into the regular season)....

                Bench
                - M Launchburg
                - Zach Dailey
                - Aaron Luther

Not the greatest bench. I sort of lost interest at round 30 and missed out on some decent B grade backups....

Any advice on what you'd do - I.E trades - Moving Moustakas or Belt to second?

Most importantly, does anyone know Julio Teherans pitch speeds for his slider and 2 seam? Can't find them anywhere....

                    Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

Searched this thread and didn't see anything, but may have missed it, so I apologize ahead of time if I did.

Is the fantasy drafting still following the set structure in regards to CPU team logic (i.e. SP 1st rd, SP 2nd rd, C 3rd rd, etc.)?

Was this only online, or offline, as well?

I am doing some re-wiring so haven't been able to load the game up for a little while. I did a fantasy draft for an online league with a friend when the game came out, and it was ridiculous--Kemp/Hamilton/Cabrera/Cargo/Pedroia/Wright/Beltre/and more on my team.

Has this been fixed or are guys just using restraint when drafting (following CPU's lead)?

                    Thanks.

The set structure is better it would seem for the large part. A lot more mixed rounds than I remember in the last few games. There are still rounds where it's entirely RP though, but I believe that would happen in a real scenario too. Wait as long as you can to get RP and then when 2 or 3 pick them in the same round, follow their lead.

                          Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

Hey guys, so I'm still playing around while waiting for OD rosters to arrive and I thought I'd try something a little different, I normally don't bother drafting much of pitching rotation or bullpen, usually one or two good staters and two good relievers but I thought I'd experiment and see what I could get if I went all out pitching, I drafted 16th in the first round, my first 5 were starters, then a catcher, then my bullpen, the my fielders... Here's what I got...

                          Rotation
                          David Price
                          Josh Johnson
                          Gio Gonzalez
                          Brandon McCarthy
                          Jarrod Parker

                          Bullpen
                          CP Kenley Jansen

OF/DH Fernando Mercado (B pot, good power)

So as you can see, great pitching, not a lot of power in the lineup though, I had to go for more speedy contact hitters and good D... Let me know what you guys think... I'm gonna try one the other way, draft only hitters to begin then out together a rotation and bullpen, see what happens then...

                          EDIT: My standings
                          1st in pitching
                          3rd in Speed
                          22nd in Power
                          22nd in Defense
                          30th in Contact
                          28th Overall

So it could be an uphill battle :/...

Here's what I got...

                            Rotation
                            David Price

Thanks, it's a real pitchers team, which is why it's probably not for me, but it will be interesting to see how it does...

Young and quick batting order. You could be playing a lot of small ball.
