Tim McCarver would be the Show's "jump the shark" moment.

Matt V is doing the Canada-Italy game now with Kaat. I think he does an acceptable job doing play by play live but the lines in the game need to be redone.Comment

Re: Matty V thank you but it's over...
The thing is Matt V is actually a pretty emotional and energetic announcer in real life. The Show just doesn't sport it off well enough. I think the commentary could be so much better if he got excited during big moments, instead of the random times. It's just annoying when in the first inning you get the energetic HR call, and then if you hit a walk off, it will be the dull HR call. It's just way too random and you never know what you're going to get. Other than that and the dead periods I actually don't mind the commentary.NHL-Minnesota Wild

I'm bias, but id hate to lose Vasgersian. I think partnering with one other commentator would be ideal (with a reworked system for commentary). Though I don't think commentary is so bad right now... It'll never be perfect and they can only put in so many lines.
I think a Vasgersian and Reynolds pair would be great (though I'd even prefer Mark Grant.... He's worked plenty with Vasgersian before)

Re: Matty V thank you but it's over...
I think Matty V is perfect for The Show. When I'm playing it seems like I'm listening to a radio broadcast of the game. Now Karros gets on my last nerve. Nothing against his broadcasting skills but to me his voice doesn't translate well to broadcasting. I cut him out of the commentary in the audio presentations options menu so I don't have to hear his voiceComment

Re: Matty V thank you but it's over...
Matty is a little tiresome, but having two announcers in Lyons and Karros who seem to sound very similar is worse. Before someone tries to come off the top turnbuckle because I don't like the commentary, let me state that I love what they did this year.
To me the visuals and ball physics are great and the commentary is just disappointing. For me, it is like the game has a million dollar body and a food stamp face. Edited that line for fear of not being politically correct.Comment

Matt is really good live, the show just needs to capture his emotion better, we just need more memory for new recordings. *cough* PS4 *cough*PSN: KMRBlue1027

Re: Matty V thank you but it's over...
The commentary overall is pretty bad in this game. There's just no skating around that fact.
Every single play results in one man giving 1-2 lines about it, then silence. There's not but 1 or 2 instances in the entire game where a conversation occurs, or even one guy reacting to the words uttered by another guy.
Instead of a commentary team, I feel like we have 3 MCs, whom take turns hosting a show, one at a time.Comment

Re: Matty V thank you but it's over...
The commenting overall is more disjointed than before. Replacing one of the broadcasters with Lyons has killed the flow of commenting. In previous years the commentators would talk to each other at various times and use the same tone when talking. Now you have Lyons who is usually upbeat and Vasgersian who has a more mellow tone like the dude who was replaced. I don't know, it just sounds disjointed to me.Comment

I think some of you young whippersnappers are forgetting that this is baseball. It's a slow moving game. There's more strategy involved than any other sport. It wasn't designed to have a "thrill a minute" or a ton of Sportscenter highlights. Baseball doesn't designed to have a team of Gus Johnson's doing the commentaryLast edited by blueduke; 03-08-2013, 03:45 PM.Comment

But this game definitely is evolving, and when the other presentation aspects attempt to "keep up" to the contemporary style of the game, the commentary still falls behind in that regard.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
