I simmed over spring training. I didn't check what they're ratings are. But so far so good, at least with Hudson. I've already racked up 7 strikeouts in just 4 innings with Hudson. But that's probably just all my years of pitching with Hudson on The Show and I know how to get the best outta Hudson from my experiences.

You can also see what he will accept in a contract by offering him deals until his interested level is fairly full, like just over 3/4 of the bar usually.
I like your idea about re-loading.

I just turned budgets off. Makes no sense to have a budget when you cant alter ticket prices or concessions or anything.

I signed Jacobi Ellsbury to the Nats for a 7 year 88 mil contract.

          franchise contracts/budgets

Is anyone else having a serious problem making it past the first year or 2 in franchise due to the contracts being completely off?

Almost every player in the game has a 1 year contract

No matter what team I have I can't even sign back most of the minor leaguers let alone the mlb level players not including the stars.

And also the fact that when I have plenty of budget space the game says I do not have the space to sign some of the free agents i make offers to. I can have over 10 million in budget and offer a guy hardly 2 mil a year and i wont be able to sign him and the offer will be removed

What is it that this year people make threads for everything? I mean its not like the search function is broken or something.....

                Re: franchise contracts/budgets

Well I also have a problem with the fact that every contract on every team is off where the biggest problem is arods contract where its only like 5 mil a year for 5 years and almost every player in the game is in a 1 year contract

                  Aside from the thread posted...

I'm going to say that MOST players are under 1 year contracts(real MLB) since until they are 25...they are contract renewable...and even then arbitration eligible.

(also here is a hint...if you want to cheat a bit...before you start your franchise...use the ROSTER CONTROL screen on your base roster and swap any 1 year players to the FA3 list and then back until you get him with a multi year deal. Not realistic...but it will help you out for the first few off seasons.)

In baseball almost all your minor league players receive one year contracts while multi year contracts are given to your young superstar players and solidified veterans that will be productive from their positions for years to come.

I wasn't really aware of this until I played the show, first time I saw almost everybody having a 1 year contract I thought smth is wrong with my roster file lol
