I tried this and it did not work unfortunately. I have been having the exact same issues as you with the digital download. I spend an hour doing free agency in franchise, forget to save of course, and play a game which will then freeze on me. It is a pain downloading the entire game again, but I might have to try and completely wipe my ps3.

I am not sure what else to do, it is somewhat good to know that it is happening to other people as I thought maybe my PS3 was on the fritz, but I have faith in SCEA that they will be able to track down and fix this problem. I love this game but it sucks that I cannot really play it right now. I wish I knew someone with the disc version to test it on my PS3 to try and narrow down the issue and whether it is a digital download issue or just the game in general with some ps3's.

Well that's completely disheartening. Hopefully I can get different results. It just finished the install and fired up my 1st game.

It definitely shouldnt be the PS3. Mine is a brand new 500 GB super slim model.

Ya and I have the old fat 80 gb PS3, so those are almost as far apart as you can get. Hopefully a fix will show up sooner rather than later.

Same thing here. I have one of the original PS3's and since the game update non stop freezing; music going out; game stuttering; game freezing. Makes no sense. Also, after I get rid of games I delete everything so all that is on my PS3 is MLB 13 saved data. I just deleted the 10 GB and I did not restore it and it has made it worse.

Yea I sure hope so. This has been happening since release to me. People always throw around the phrase "game breaker" around here, but this is literally a game breaker. I had hoped that the patch would fix it, but to no avail.

Funny I got a super slim also and not only does 13 freeze but I'm am having lag issues as well as sound issues in 12. Also play now mode either freezes or the field shows up white with grey tones while the players are in full color. There are tons of bugs in this game HOWEVER before my original ps3 blew out last week i did not have most of these issues so is it the super slim hardware that is causing some of these problems? I don't know but when you go to the bug report on Show Nation you see this problems listed in several spots.

Just had my second hard freeze in two games, third overall.

I don't think '12 froze on me ever.

this happened to me also.

when i started a season before the patch with edited rosters, all hell broke loose.

i suggest you deleted the 5gb or 10gb game install data and restart your franchise with the osfm.

you could also save your sliders or roster to a flash drive and delete all your game saves.

Well, 2nd game in after re-downloading the full game, got a hard freeze in the 1st inning. I posted a bug report on theshownation.com. The bug report ID is 12270 if you want to go over and vote on it to try and get the Devs to notice it.

I may have to just quit playing this game for awhile. I'm afraid its going to ruin my system.

I've also been getting destroyed by hard freezes. So far, they always happen when loading something from online, especially the CotW.

Every single time it has frozen, it's during the "announcements" page loading screen. I had four hard freezes in a row on Sunday, then it loaded fine. I'm scared to try CotW again, now.

Playing on a fairly new slim PS3.

That would be a bad decision, unless you are having the hard freeze issues and it never gets fixed which is pretty unlikely. This game is much better than last years, I cant explain it but it just feels like baseball more than any other game in the series.

knowing me, i will cave and buy it. i must confess though, the freeze stories, the massive bugs, etc has definitely kept me at bay.

I found my laptops old 160 gb hard drive and put that in the PS3 and did a full backup and restore. It froze playing the show in the franchise menu and would have quick delays that were hardly noticable in the menu at certain points so obviously it didnt work. To be fair it had been making clicking sounds in my laptop which was the reason I replaced it in the first place so I was not expecting it to fix the issue.

I just bought a 120 gb Samsung 840 SSD and will install that when it gets here and see if that makes a difference and let you guys know. If it doesnt then there is nothing we can do on our end really and will have to wait for a patch. I was going to buy an ssd for my pc anyways so I figure I might as well try it in the PS3 first and see what happens.

Mine froze while I was trying to modify my custom music list. BTW, I have a brand new 500gb ps3. I waited until the patch came out before I even took the game out of the box in an effort to avoid the problems I've been reading about.
