Well than you have nothing to worry about because I've never seen numbers like that post patch. Just avoid RTTS I guess...

That is a problem. Especially when they put emphasis in RTTS, which is meant to played over many seasons, and they put emphasis on the realism aspect to the game.

But for you personally, are you seeing these kind of results in one season? If you play all of your games, which I'm assuming you do if you've played the first 40, maybe this isn't a huge issue.

Most ERAs were in the 4's still in this game, so don't think anything got fixed. Looking at minor league ERAs, many teams were in 5's, some even in 6's!

And simming these things, seems like comeback mode is on in these things lol. So many closers league wide had ERAs in the 5's with like 6+ losses per closer.

I have a thought about a potential solution for RTTS stat inflation. I'm in the year 2017 and am starting to see the beginning of the stat issue. My solution is to use the only thing we have available as far as managing rosters - i.e. setting injuries to manual and handing out season ending head fractures.

I figure if I start axing all the A prospect hitters, perhaps it will keep those super star hitters from taking off and maybe with B hitters at best, we'll have a more realistic balance between hitters and pitchers going forward. It's going to be a bit tedious to do this at the start of every season, but to me it's worth it if it might keep the stats from inflating as much as others have seen.

I might keep a few around so I have some competition for the mvp and what not, and I might start axing B prospects if the stats inflate with B hitters at best.

Anyone else have thoughts on the viability of this approach or ideas on how to implement it?

How did the Rays get Addison Russell and Miguel Sano in your RTTS? Did they trade for him? If they did who was it for?

I'm guessing its too late in the game to hope that this is fixed? Has anyone tried GreenGlen's method and does it work? I think that's what I'm going to try and do, "bust" some of the A prospects out of the league every year.

                      Re: Unrealistic stats continuing

I've been playing "The Show" titles for the past 3-4yrs and have always been pretty satisfied and impressed with the game as a whole. This is the first year I've ever attempted to get into the RTTS mode of the game and currently I'm in the first 1/4 of the 2019 season. From what I've seen this mode as a whole needs a lot more work done to it to make it more fun/feel real/believable.

I have noticed some very weird trends with player progression in this game that are inexplicable to say the least. In my 2018 season the St Louis had 3 guys vying for rookie of the year, they were all rated in the 90's and all 3 finished with over 20HR and 100RBI. When I started the next season all of the players experienced huge nose dives in ratings, one (the actual rookie of the year) dropped to the low 70's. I'm amazed at how that could happen. I've also noticed that some players will come out of nowhere and have huge ratings increases (position players) and the pitchers do not have the same career progression arcs. I do believe that is the cause for the high offensive numbers as you get deeper.

I usually just play franchise, but I've grown a little tired of the limited career statistical stat tracking from this game. Personally I'd prefer to see them remove the advanced metric stats (that most people either don't care about or don't even understand) and come up with a career stats page for players that resemble the one they have in RTTS mode; which is really the only reason I'm playing that mode. Important stats like doubles, triples, runs, K's, BB's and all defensive stats as well as OB% and SLG% are omitted for hitters and a vast number of important stats for pitchers as well. I'm probably just nit picking, but it's one of the main reasons why playing a franchise is so fun...seeing the progression of players across the board year after year!!

Hey y'all, new to the forum.

Anyone esle noticing low SO totals in Franchise Mode for relievers post May 20 patch? I have done multiple sims and Kimbrel never sniffs 100 strikeouts, nor does Chapman (as a closer). They're K/9s are always just a hair above 9 or so, nowhere near their career averages.

This is true for all relievers/closers with high K/9 attributes...it's not carrying over into their totals at the end of the year. Kinda disappointing considering SO totals for starters are much closer to where they should be now.

This is actually a limitation of the current player rating system for K/9. The game allows K/9 to be 0 - 99, but K/9 of 99 corresponds to 10 SO/9 or so in real life (very roughly... since I' haven't looked into this for this year's game...), those exceptional strikeout pitchers like Kimbrel and Chapman cannot be faithfully replicated in the game; their K/9 is ceiled at K/9 = 99 right now.

Hopefully the rating system improves in future.

I just finished my 2020 RTTS season and saw some pretty astronomical stats myself. My RTTS SS hit over .400 with 75hr and 211rbi while scoring 186runs. Pretty ridiculous, but there was also Jesus Montero on my team who had 150rbi and a rookie CF who finished with 140rbi (before suffering a huge rating drop from a 98 to a 75 and leaving in free agency). I also saw that most teams had at least 2 if not 3 guys with over 100rbi.

The unrealistic stats combined with the broken progression system has made this game unplayable for me, and I've played every year since 06. Such a shame because the gameplay really is the best yet. I've noticed for the past few years they've really seemed to phone it in as far as stats are concerned. Would love to see more of a balance between gameplay and simulation in the coming years.

Not exactly sure what all factors into clutch for hitters and pitchers, but I am seeing way too many bad stats for closers. Does anyone think increasing the clutch upwards of 90 may help in correcting their stats like ERA?

Just looking at vision on hitters when doing my own personal edits, I think the majority have too high of a rating in vision, which is part of the problem with the low strikeout totals. Does anyone else think so?
