Thanks for answering. My question wasn't rhetorical.

My point was that anyone that isn't new would already know the kind of contributions Bobhead makes around here (and I am not stating my opinion on his tone in this thread, by the way. I just thought your comment towards him as a member was a little unnecessary...regardless of what's going on with the debate/heated discussion in here).

      You need to relax.

Everyone who has had this discussion with you has offered counter points and done it maturely.

You have made counter points for your argument (Which is what we want) but have made a few posts that were not necessary.

Remember, there is no problem with disagreements but we ask that you do it maturely, you haven't done that so far.

Please relax a little and continue to debate if you choose but do it maturely.

        Re: Rest and injuries.

I stopped posting in this thread so I could get more games in, since I decided I'd just post screenshots instead of continuing this absurd argument.

Note that the number of innings played for David Wright is the same as the number of innings played for my entire team.

Don't you hate it when fatigue makes you lead the league in home runs?

There's no doubt that fatigue negatively affects fielding. Hitting? Maybe. It's harder to say.

Oh I definitely believe that it does affect hitting negatively.

The focus of my argument is that a negative effect is not the end of the world.

Hitters have "negative effects" all the time. They're called slumps. You can play through those, just like you can play through fatigue, both in real life, and in The Show.

I disagree with the notion that anytime a player is fatigued they need to be rested instantly.

we could also see it like this.

hitters only have to concentrate 4 or 5 times per game when they are at-bat.

when hitters are fielders, they have to concentrate for about 1.5 hours

thereby, fatigue should affect fielding more.

pticher's already have the advantage when a hitter is at the plate also.

Does the gauge go red or something to tell me when players are to fatigued and does playing players late in games as PH cancel there rest day.

At the moment my whole lineup is below 75% with a few around 50%, i carry 4 position players on the bench and 1 is injured for a week.
Using the Braves in franchise. I give McCann every fourth day off & try to stay with that throughout the season. I look at the red line or players performance for the rest of the lineup.

I started them anyway in the third game (a crucial game with wild card implications). I hit two home runs with cargo and went 2 for 3 with Tulowitzski. By the 5th inning I was up 10-1 on the Padres. I did not want to completely fatigue those two or risk injury so I subbed them out when we took the field in the bottom of the fifth. Played the rest of the game.

I did this thinking we had an important series coming up with the division leading Dodgers, and I didnt want them completely going fatigued (No energy in the bar). I was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did they not fatigue any further, they actually re-charged and were near full! Just from letting them get some rest for half a game
. I find this to be pretty realistic. They both got over 500 at bats for the season, and they both played around 155-160 Games.
This is great news. I had a game in hand in the 6th today and decided to sub out Braun, Aramis and Aoki. Only problem was, like a jackass, I forgot to check the fatigue levels, and see if they were affected at all. The fact that it helps is awesome.

Yeah fatigue is based off of innings played. Playing extra innings hurts worse, and subbing a player out (or entering a game late) means they lose less fatigue than normal.
