I appreciate SCEA and I have always been in defense of some of the things they can't help, but the photos above show a problem that has been with the Show for a long time. Those dives don't make any sense, and outside of Michael Young I've never seen a professional boot as many balls as the players in the Show. This needs to be fixed.

Why should it even exist? I am fairly certain he's using auto fielding, as I do as well. What is so difficult to have CPU field for us as it does for its players?I appreciate SCEA and I have always been in defense of some of the things they can't help, but the photos above show a problem that has been with the Show for a long time. From what I've seen with regard for infielders, is CPU players field better than what their ratings suggest. Meanwhile, we get plays like the one above--and worse!
To me it seems like a simple matter for auto fielding to work both ways, but it doesn't.Comment

Yes, I think the discussion if the cpu does get some fielding advantage or not won't lead anywhere on here. Actually I have seen bone headed cpu fielding plays as well.
But that doesn't change the fact that they are present and that by itself is already bad enough and I really hope we'll see some improvements in that area in The Show 14Spending time with Jesus!

Sure....they always want to tighten up the animations and the fielding in general.Yes, I think the discussion if the cpu does get some fielding advantage or not won't lead anywhere on here. Actually I have seen bone headed cpu fielding plays as well.

My post was specifically about when using AUTO fielding.....you and the CPU being "different" in fielding chances.

I use auto fielding as well, and in my experience I've seen boneheaded plays on both ends, but never one as ridiculous as that!Comment

Re: The fielding in this game has frustrated me to no end
Not so from my experience. I watched Andrelton Simmons play like he does in real life for the CPU, but when I got him, he forgot who he was. What I see pertains particularly to infielders. Ratings just don't correlate with what I see using auto fielding--for infielders. Adrian Gonzalez is another example. He fields a bunt and looks towards first while the batter is running up the line. The batter runs past Gonzalez while he's still looking to first base. Of course the batter is safe. Now, if Gonzalez was some boneheaded rookie, then maybe, maybe I could see it. Meanwhile, I often watch in awe as poorly rated CPU infielders make amazing plays. I recall one such amazing play with 3rd baseman going for a grounder that went to the railing, and even with poor arm strength, he was able to throw out my runner. I never saw anything even close for my 3rd baseman with auto fielding.
Now I am not playing CPU against CPU, I am playing my games User against CPU.Comment

I will confirm it with SCEA....but like I said....if you use auto(not assisted) fielding....it is exactly the same as CPU vs. CPU.(in the fielding department)
AND...that is the ONLY time when it is ALL ratings to animations.

Re: The fielding in this game has frustrated me to no end
I can only tell you what I experience, what I see with my own eyes. Simmons did not field for me like he did for the CPU. Gonzalez has on more than one occasion make the kind of plays similar to what geisterhome posted above. Show SCEA what geisterhome posted.Comment

Re: The fielding in this game has frustrated me to no end
That and plays like that look more like glitch plays than they do coded plays.
Where do you guys have your fielding error sliders?

Re: The fielding in this game has frustrated me to no end
I have mine at 6. Really like to keep everything very close to default values, apart from the pitching sliders.
This play was scored as a hit, not an error, if that matters anything. Btw I'm seeing such plays at first or third base every few games, that was just the first time I captured it.Last edited by geisterhome; 10-21-2013, 03:10 AM.Spending time with Jesus!

Okay....I see it too sometimes in MoM games....but not as frequent as you guys seem to be.I have mine at 6. Really like to keep everything very close to default values, apart from the pitching sliders.

I'll pass it along for sure.
