My MLB The Show 14 Wishlist

We need a TeamBuilder type feature. Like you can create an expansion, or relocate a team online. Say I want to move the Astros to North Carolina and change their name to the Hornets or Cougars, or w/e the case may be and set the roster as the current Astros roster. I could change the logo, create a stadium, create the field, create the jerseys, etc. What would make this better, is if you could do it in the middle of an association. So after a season, you can choose to relocate the team, and then there is one season in between before the team moves to another city.

Also, during the off-season you can make upgrades to the stadium or change the team colors, jerseys, etc. So if I want to recreate what the Astros did when they changed their jerseys this past season. I have the option to change the team colors, logo or jerseys, etc. after each season.

Jerseys need to be less bulky, and look more like actual cloth. The running animations need to be improved to look more natural, the swing follow throughs need some improvement. The one-handed follow through when a line drive is hit and they follow through high and pose, looks awkward to me. And I don't think it looks right when the second they hit the ball they let go, they don't hold it all the way through the swing before they let go. Some of the throwing animations need to be improved or deleted and changed completely.

Short and sweet because I know the gameplay will be great, looking forward to seeing this on next gen!

going into next gen i'd really like to see a completed franchise mode, with A, short season A.

owner capabilities would be interesting too. branding your new franchise and all.

an entire library of jerseys, like every uniform ever worn would be pretty nice too

I'd love to see the fans catch a foul ball, I'd also like to see more defensive plays for my SS in Road To The Show, more contract offers when I become a free agent, and maybe more manager interactions, also a pipe dream would be to play Road to The show with other people let me be a SS and have 1-8 other players all on the same team I think that would be really cool probably never gonna happen but would be really nice

We should be able to put players on the DL when editing rosters instead of putting them in single A. Also, I don't like how older players in their late 30's regress at such a substantial rate. Many of them are unusable after the first two months of a season. Another thing that is probably not going to happen but I would love would be the ability to create your own draft classes. Another thing that annoys me is how there are so many fake players in diamond dynasty. I would honestly prefer only real mlb players. A cool feature would be the ability to argue with umpires over close calls. I forget what game it was but you could tap a fast or slow to argue a call and control how angry the manager would get. Players should also be able to argue. My final suggestion is to create a stadium builder. Almost every single wish list asks for this year after year so why not bring it to the new console?

I don't remember which game it was but I remember the manager argument "feature."

Also correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that game also had bench clearing brawls? I'd kind of like to see something like that in the show. Nothing too crazy but maybe something that forces players to go to their bullpens and get creative because the starter got ejected.

The game where you tap the button to argue was 2k5 I believe or 2k6.

My wish is to fix all the off season problems. Also advance training and scouting to become better than it already is. I believe there should be new animations created and like one person said the clothing needs to look more realistic.

Re: My MLB The Show 14 Wishlist

1- Adding a single A system to each team. The "no memory" excuse doesn't fly with me on this one since there were games on PS2 that had single A teams. By adding single A teams, roster makers won't have to pick and choose which prospects and minor league players to keep and/or get rid of when they reach the 90 player max.

2- Fix the archaic stat tracking in franchise mode. If I'm in the year 2015 in my franchise and want to see how many doubles Evan Longoria had in 2013 or what Matt Moore's WHIP was in 2014, I should be able to do so with a simple click of a button, period. Again, the "no memory" excuse is a cop out. There was a whole thread about this one already and besides the usual suspects, everyone pretty much agreed with me.

3- Fix sim stats. There were several threads about this one already so I'll keep it brief. The league leader in strikeouts in the year 2013 shouldn't have 160 of them.

4- Make player editing/creating more customizable. I want us to be able to edit hot/cold zones, player contracts, etc. There have been plenty of baseball games before that allowed us to do all of this so there is no good reason not to let us now.

5- Overhaul player progression/regression. Too many guys' ratings are nosediving in their early twenties.

MVP Baseball had these features. I didn't mind them but I didn't hate them either. Here are 2 things I'd like to see.

1: Batter Confidence - The Pitchers have a confidence meter, so why not the hitters? I could see this only working when a hitter gets deep in a count, a 6, 7, 8+ pitch at bat. The deeper you get in a count, the more the meter increases, the better chance of a hit.

2: Scenario Mode - This was in the All-Star Baseball series. I think it's a cool idea to be put in the middle of a game and try to change history. Try to break up a no-hitter, try to close a game that in real life it was a blown game. They can be games taken from the previous year.

I'd like to see stats like Baseball Referrence/Fangraphs...not necessarily the ".avg after 0-1 count" like MLB2k, but important stats...like VS. teams, VS. pitchers would be nice but thats a stretch. How about an easy one, like "% of 1st pitch strikes"...flash up players averages with RISP when they have that opportunity.

Average number of pitches taken by a batter, thrown by a pitcher...inherited runners % for relievers. How about another easy one, stats for the past 30 days, the current month, the past 10 games (for all players)...Also, "non iconic" stat listing for team and players (where they only put like 5 teams on a screen at a time, just list them all!!!) ...MORE NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE STATS!!!

M wish list would include a ball tracking line for when you replay a home run. I love replaying and recording the players swing when they hit a HR but when you do that the ball eventually is too far gone to tell where it landed. It would be cool to be able to film your guy and his trot to first while seeing like a tracker so we could tell where the ball ended up. Now I obviously know where it landed while playing in that game but I would like to be able to go back and watch an instant replay next yr from now and the tracker would come in very handy at that point because u wouldn't be able to r,ember where it landed when you played that game.

No need to for it to fly with you or anyone else....because on the PS3....it's just a fact right now.

                        It was on the PS2?
Yeah...the "only" thing taking up memory in the game is players and stats
I pop in my PS2 era BB games and I can hardly tell the difference between those and MLB'13.

I hope I get everything and express my thoughts clearly. You will also see that I'm a big RTTS guy, so most of my focus is in that area of the game. Hoping I get an invite to join the select few who are a part of the community who get to head down to SD to talk to the dev team!

                            1. More player edit options in RTTS.
                            • Brand apparel! (Nike shoes, etc) Sony SD has to pull that partnership off.
                            • More hair options. Feels as though there aren't enough.
                            • Tattoos? I know some of the licenses have restricted this, but for realism, this has to be pushed harder.

                            2. RTTS in General
                            • Seems the roster foundation was removed in RTTS in '13 (i.e. the screen that shows you how the current team was built). Would love that back.
                            • Trade rumors was removed in RTTS. Would be nice again to see who's removed to be traded (are they going to trade that outfielder that's prohibiting me from being called up).
                            • With next gen, would love to see A ball be added. I know the casual fans want to get to the show ASAP, but I love the option to work my way through the minors as a real player would.

                            3. More RPG Elements in RTTS
                            • GM sit-downs (i.e. go over advancement goals, propose trade, etc)? I know. I know. This is a 2k thing, but some element of RPG would just make the RTTS much more immersive. Or how about we answer press questions after a game?

                            4. Alternative RTTS Advancement Goal Scenarios.
                            • We should have options on which advancement goals to achieve. For example, if your goal is to be a leadoff hitter, then you should be able to pick advancement goals that meet those needs (i.e. increase contact and bunting vs. power and RBI's).

                            5. Mobile App.
                            • Would love to view highlights and stats of my RTTS character as well as manage rosters of my franchise from a mobile app.

                            6. Better Stat Tracking
                            • I understand the current gen framework does not allow all of the deep stat tracking that could be offered, that said with next gen around the corner, I'd love to see all stats and award winner information be made available.
                            • During a game, would love to see historical stats (i.e. splits and pitcher vs. batter matchup).

                            7. RTTS Online
                            • I've thrown around the idea of an online RTTS where multiple people could play their RTTS on the same team much like 2k Team Up and NHL EASHL, but I'm not sure this would even be the best thing. Games would be long and batting would be boring while you're waiting to bat.
                            • That said, with the capabilities of next gen it would be nice if you could add video highlights to the online leaderboard for others to view.
                            • Speaking of online leaderboard, it needs to be sortable by difficulty, if possible. Some of those guys are playing on rookie! Ha, I know people can change difficulty over the course of their playing career, so may not even be possible.

                            8. Presentation
                            • I know a lot of people have expressed their thoughts on this, but with the available options to add sounds to the game, I feel Sony is already steps ahead of the competition in this area. Besides new commentary, I don't see how it can be improved. Most people end up skipping cut scenes... That said, in RTTS they took a nice step by introducing commentary during special moments and important information. Would love to see more of that interjected. For example, a cut scene where they say, player xyz is hitting .378 lifetime against pitcher xyz. That would be cool.

                            9. Gameplay
                            • I already feel that Sony SD is doing a phenomenal job with this game. It's the most realistic sports game to date. That said, there are some minor quirks, like players morphing into each other. I'm sure that will probably get cleaned up for next gen.
                            • How about making celebrations available after a big play? For example, those no doubter HRs, how sweet would it be if you could (like NHL 13) have button combos to celebrate after a HR? Or how about robbing someone of a HR, which is so satisfying in this game. I celebrate anyway. Why not have my player celebrate with some button mashing.

                              For me....

                              1. More options to edit anything and everything. It's been my #1 request for years....ie league structure...team names(like for online leagues)....coaches(names and hopefully attributes and tendencies)..scouts etc.

                              2. Stats(OMG!) I've also been asking for more and better stat tracking....a franchise almanac and tracking of players(ie...drafts...trades...retirements) both in an almanac and on the card. I think '14(PS4) is where we finally see it(fingers crossed)

3.Presentation. Something I think would really add to the immersion of franchise mode is adding elements to the presentation that have to do with the goings on in your franchise. While there have been some improvements over the years(ticker and the additions to the ticker progressively) ....I think in game break ins(even if it's just audio to start) of important league events(no hitters.....records being chased and broken.....trades..injuries....pennant chases and important games in general) would be huge. The dream is a weekly wrap up show ...but elements like this would be big IMO.
